Hi this is a tutorial video on how you can bypass the restrictions on app/app data transfers on SD Cards by converting it into extended Internal storage on the latest Xiaomi MIUI 14 with Android 13, The device used in the video is Poco M5 4GB/64GB Variant, please note this is a feature at Stock Android OS with certain apps able to format the Sd Card into Internal storage.

remove the sd card from that phone and install it in another one, and then just "format" it in that one from the settings. then reinstall it in the previous phone.

Thanks, but i cannt undone this! How can we un done this method...i mean when i remove my sd ram...i cannot use my phone any more because it cause less storage capacity...it means it works just when the sd ram inserted and it seems it cannot be undone!

@@davidelsauz7142 think it's totally fine because the systems will just integrate the SD card storage and if your phone is at MB level the installing of apps will be redirected to SD Card storage.

can't see the SD card om my redmi12c, I formatted it and got up to 2.19 of your instructions then there is no SD card option showing. Maybe it's cos I'm on miui 13? Brand new phone and running out of storage cos I can't access the SD card. Please advise!

Try Formatting the SD Card First as External Drive so that the system will recognize it, Try getting on me bro if it works out!

@@aldrianmontcalm8718 bro finnaly after 4 hours of hassle i have got the solution. firstly i connected sd card(which was not being showed on windows explorer), but this time i opened it on disk managment(partition) and from there i formated it first in NFTS format after that when it opened in files explorer then i again formated it in Exfat format and after doing this it showed as portable storage on my redmi 12.

Guys, I also should point out that this method is untested with the new Hyper OS by Xiaomi, and that this is not a must but rather just a way to store data as an Internal storage, however with the current patches and problems me myself are trying to fix such as the irreversible effect of the format, I suggest you guys to not do this if you intent to game hard. Or as much as possible just use your SD card as a portable storage all together as Xiaomi is clamping down on these methods, however it's up to you to decide, DO AT YOUR OWN RISK!

how to undo it? I put sand disc 64 Gbit with it say that is slow (it works but I bought lexar new one) and replace it but now I still see notification of old card : sd sandisk missing! :D its annoying how can I delete it? after restart device or turn of also.

How to migrate back from sdcard to internal storage? It seems the migrate option in the 3 dots menu disappeared after migration from internal to external storage. Now how to undo this and return back as it was :) There was a message showed after finishing migration said to migrate back do this and this ...etc. unfortunately I don't remember that.

You can try using other devices when you reformat it where your phone won't recognize it, use another smartphone and when it's inserted there format it as to it's original configuration, hope it works out bro, if it does support my channel by subscribing thanks❤

@@HoR_KoH Unfortunately nothing worked out. Searched a lot for a solution but what people are saying is it depends on the phone model. If migrate back is not available in the menu then the only solution is to backup your important stuff and factory reset then reinstall everything.

I'm sorry it didn't worked out that well to you, Xiaomi MIUI doesn't support External Storage thereby it doesn't support migrate back, You can reformat it else where or you could use a SD Card Adapter with USB Port to a PC where you could install a driver that could reformat it as it's original configuration.

Yep thought one thing I discovered you can only do this once if you reset it without backing up the data the SD card will be basically useless.
