Thanks, yeah the sharpness is a necessary evil with Ideal Edge. I learned the hard way when I ran my finger across just taking it out of the package too! It needs to be that sharp in order to give a seamless transition from the top to the edge, I didn’t realize this and unfortunately I can see the edge due to filing too much as I was worried about someone cutting themselves, I wish I would have taken a little more time to line it all up perfectly to avoid as much filing. I bought the 5 x 12 laminate/formica sheet snd trim at Home Depot. Cost under $400. Looks identical to yours.

Formica has a great how to video on their website for the Ideal Edge. If you can get the front edge cut perfectly at 90 degrees, you won't need the putty. I made the mistake of filing the edge before installing and it created a gap where the top of the edge met the Formica by rounding it slightly. Watch the how to video from Formica and follow the steps and it will line up perfect. I came here to ask the same question or see if it was already answered. I got some all purpose putty from Bondo buy I don't think it will work for that.

I ended up redoing the putty with some white non-sanded grout. I also used a white grout paint pen to try and hide some of the edges that were not white.

@@rogueremodel2993 can you elaborate on how to apply the non sanded grout? I need full details. How to apply, when to wipe off excess, etc. Maybe you could a video using scrapes from the formica/ideal edge install.

They are IKEA axstad gray.

The finish is matte and shows every single finger print and they are very hard to clean. Thinking about clear coating them, would not recommend them to someone with kids.

You can order counters with the waterfall edge in this product, but I think they can only do 2 sides, so with an island having 4 sides visible, you would still have to install 2 edge pieces.

You can also buy the Cobalr Scoring Tool at Lowe's. You have to ask a lot of people where it is before you find someone who knows. Should be in rhe ftont of the store on the wall. $4.87
