Thank you very much for making this. I’ve been watching videos for weeks and I’m just about to put my walls up. Not one video I watched talked so In depth about what you can do to strengthen the frame. I will be using all of these methods! Your awesome!
thank you for sharing your video teached me alot. after we moved to new property to biuld are first home my racess neighboor set my every thinks on fire and told me move back for ever i came from.... we was living in a rv at the time and didt have the insurance.we came homeless..... after i saw this video im going to pule my rv frame from ashes try to save and build place to us... i do landscaping i think i can do this.. thank you again
Campers that use 2x2 framing go 65 mph down the highway and dont have metal bracing. over kill I think. You build the tiny house just like a regular house. It's ten times stronger then campers
Exactly, this framing is overkill in all regards. The amounts of wood used in places is absurd. But still, this design would be fine if used in warm climates, just don't expect great insulation properties.
1/2” plywood provides plenty of shear strength. 70-80 years ago, home framers used to cut in a 1x4 diagonal brace. They did that because they were using 1x6 pine slats to cover the exterior. Once modern plywood were used for exterior shear, the diagonal braces were obsolete. Don’t think this guy ever framed a static home.
