I'm a beginner in inventor, and i saw a lot of tutorials, from lynda, pluralsight and... . They are all good. But what the way you do it, works the best for me. Thanks man. Please keep doing this.🤝🏽
I have been looking for someone to explain how to do that for so long, Thankyou. Trying to have two separate frame generated parts that can move independently of each other in the same assembly has been preventing me from sleep. I can now get stuck into my project THANKS MATE KEEP THE VIDS COMIN!
I do learn alot with your editions of video tutorials on various skills development with inventor's, and auto cad architecture. Great environment, and the music is comforting when doing designs.
God bless you; busy works soft has notNice tutorialng on tNice tutorials. I feel more comfortable from watcNice tutorialng tNice tutorials in mins than I have ever before.
Thanks for your lessons. I agree about the distracting music, I think it's particularly because of quality of my english skills. Pls continue do your good and useful work.
Looks like we have a new Inventor CAD ninja at last.plenty of info for people in short amount of time, theres a good bit I know but like all these programs theres always gonna be a good bit you dont know, thanks for input and keep up the good work!
Inventor ninja, I like that, I'm regretting calling my company 'CloudCAD' so you may have something with this ninja theme! Haha thanks for the support too :)
CloudCAD Ltd No problem,it's good to see as your covering the ground work very well and we all know starting the right way makes a big difference as it's very easy to get bad habits. Its very easy to over look some of the tools if your not using them everyday. If you have a good tutor you can get to grips with Inventor and appreciate how good it is!
We do use Vault. I am the cad manager. You have no idea how hard it is to get new Inventor operators to use Frame Generator "correctly" in a collaborative, server based Vault environment. Any new tutorials covering this would be extremely appreciated. Specifically, some explanation of how to identify the Frame Generator generated reference skeleton and reference assembly. Users are constantly inadvertently editing them (adding parts to the reference assembly, altering the FG reference skeleton instead of the top level skeleton, etc.). Also very confusing is at what level one uses the "edit using frame generator" command. Great video, just making humble request for a somewhat more advanced, Vault based collaborative production environment tutorial. Thanks!
Have to agree. Copy design of Frame Generator is bit of a nightmare. Things don't really work like expected. Any help with making this work better or correctly would be appreciated!
Not sure what you mean about the four profiles being underlined, but the varies cell means that when the BOM groups together multiple parts into one line, one or more of the parts have different values for that cell. In that case the column is REV which is just the revision letter, so somehow one of the parts might have a rev letter in the iproperty, that doesn't matter really in this example.
Great video but it leaves me with a few questions. I realize everyones applications are different but this is what I've found true for myself. 1) This method created 18 individual parts all with a qty. of 1 in the BOM. However, all the verticals are the same and the horizontals match top to bottom meaning you really only need 7 unique parts. What's the best way of inserting multiple instances of the parts into the frame? Whenever I have used frame generator I often find myself using it to create the parts and then I take those parts and re-constrain them in a new assembly because I use a part multiple times, or need a mirror of it. I also might have a W12x96 that I use in 5 different assemblies. Hard to explain but in my applications at work I've never been able to fully model something using the frame generator. 2) Why would you need to make a derived part out of your assembly? If I need to use that frame as a sub-assembly in a main assembly why wouldn't I just insert the .iam file of the sub-assembly into the .iam file of the main assembly? Seems like creating the derived part file is an unnecessary step.
Grateful for the videos - always time well spent watching for me. Would you use Frame Generator for a motorcycle chassis comprising a mixture of tube sizes and even a length of Unistrut channel - all to be welded? Thank you.
great , thank you, one thing, I have created my own extrusions for frame generator, how to I create selectable imates (screws and brackets I use for the extrusions) so when selecting an extrusions I can predefine if I use an m5 m4 screw with a specific nut and specific bracket, been working on this but I think my way is a bit long and winded like this question, if u have some tips on making the process simple to make an ipart for frame generator with selectable imates it be great..... p.s. I have used suppress for holes and threads and angeled cuts but in the imate sextion on the ipart creation seems like that's the way I just would like to know more on how to use those parameters in the ipart creation area
Just a thought while watching this, wouldn't setting the BOM structure to inseparable (welded component) do the same trick, for achieving the "single" part effect in the drawing BOM ? Anyhow good tutorial for frame generator, Thanks
When one simplifies an assembly into an .ipt like this - is it possible to still get a proper BOM from that .ipt in a drawing? E.g., putting a shrinkwrapped frame as in this video into a drawing and ballooning individual members.
My doubt is that, Is there any Feature or command to make many parts(may be small assemblies or individual parts) to be fixed, when i bring it from some other Assemblies to construct new Assemblies keeping the many parts(may be small assemblies or individual parts) in one place until I give contraints to new Assembly in Inventor. I have seen it in the solid works. Regards, Shravan
Hi. Time line 15:08 In the first line and the last clumn we see - Varies - and if I click on in the scketch four profiles they are underlined. What has happened ? Thanks
In The setup If the master channel is located in the top, next to the counter, then no - IT stays witNice tutorialn acceptable limits, when I play so of
Grate explanation video thanks a lot! Next time... would you like to make a video without music please. It is a bit distracting when you put the video on 1.5x speed. it would also be nice to have the abillity to hear your own music or just your voice and the birds singing outside. Keep it up grate work. cheers
Thanks! Yea I've been around the block with the music issue and decided to stop it about a year ago, it was originally in there to create an up-beat and relaxing feel to the videos but on some speakers it was overpowering and I just decided it was unnecessary. So since then every tutorial video has been without music but unfortunately I can't remove it from the old videos already published.
Well.. Now I've heared it on a propper sound system. It clearly makes a difference mate. Comparing it with the build-in CrapWoofer. I can finaly hear your voice. I quite enjoyed the tension buildup. Almost had the urge to grab a bucket of popcorn and watch the movie. You know... I like producing music aswell and it is a pitty youtube doesn't support *.STEM Files. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RwvruBemORc.html It would be grate for what you're trying to achieve @@Neil3D
Holy shit it's taken me no exaggeration 40 minutes to find it haha it's game music from World of Warcraft, go to ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gMivRHOD-a4.html expand the description, click on the 'Asharan' time link, and that's it. Listening back to these old videos the music was indeed wayyyy too loud!
HI Its was a awesome work. But my question is how I can convert a frame-part to a regular parts & change name.single part drawing For manufacturing purpose. And when i change name while creating in frame but in BOM its shows the standard name like ISO 50x50x2,00001 But requirement is (Askd0001) So hope you will find to help me.
John Borton Thanks, some people have said it is distracting and some others prefer the music to be there. I'll take the music out of the next few that I do, see if they're any better.
***** It's a shameless and probably copyright infringing rip off of the game music from World of Warcraft the Warlords of Draenor soundtrack. You can find the full playlist here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gMivRHOD-a4.html If you expand the description of that video and jump to Asharan I think it is, that's the music used here.
***** Haha yea I don't think they put out copyright strikes on WoW game music so I thought it was a safe bet, plus its relaxing and sooooothing. For some. In the latest 2 videos I did this weekend I lowered the volume a bit further so it isn't so distracting. Can't please everyone!
Have been finding great value in many of your videos - for which thank you. BUT - someone else mentioned this -- music!!! No, no and no - most distracting. :)
+ChrisB257 I know I know I know :) All of my recent videos are now done without music, has been no music in a while now but unfortunately I obviously can't turn it off in the ones that already have it in!
+TFI CAD Tips No sweat -- I used to leave the radio on in my early vids and got castigated! As said though - really appreciate your teachings ... more than useful. I did the "learn in 50 mins''or whatever the title was and made the part - learned a lot. :) Thanks again.
+ChrisB257 I like the music. It's like being in a epic movie as I move and dance with inventor crushing my foes with a swift mouse and the all powerful CTRL+Z!
+dam kingm I know, the music is only overpowering on some speakers and headphones. I'm gonna redo some of these very old ones again as the content is quite dated now.
