Remi my rabbits poop smells really bad.. is that normal? he hasn’t been neutered yet so i’m wondering if that’s the case we are getting him neutered in a week
Once I understood why rabbits chew cords it made me understand them more. Rabbits chew cords because pet bunnies are descended from the European Rabbit which digs a burrow and lives underground. These rabbits constantly have to chew roots in their holes to make sure it is not blocked. The cords appear to rabbits as roots and they chew them instinctively to clear their path. Things like chewing cords and digging are just natural instincts since that is what their ancestors did in the wild.
Trader Dave spot on, I only discovered that after my bunnies chewed my carpet in a corner. I read an article that said, carpet = earth and corners = the end of their burrow. Once you understand how their little minds work you can work out how to bunny proof and provide them with the appropriate alternative!
@@carolineprince7008 Interesting... that makes sense... they like order. You can't get upset at them for doing what is instinctual in their DNA. I think that is partly why they enjoy tossing plastic baby keys or plastic cups... it is instinctual to try and clear impediments to their burrow. It is really cool to understand why pet bunnies do the things they do. The digging is obvious though... as pet bunnies are descended from burrowing rabbits unlike the Wild Cotton Tails we have in the USA who dont live in burrows.
My mom said at 1st that i couldn't free roam my rabbit but then i showed her this video and she said i could and that changed my bunnys life forever! Thanks so much!!
hmmm i might try that cuz my mom doesn't let me either. But rn im secretly keeping my rabbit in my home but i have 2 rabbits so 1 rabbit can stay each night and if they are not in my home there are outside roaming in my yard with my chickens they are very dirty but cute.
I adopted a rabbit named Koji from a rescue organization here in Houston. His previous owner had him caged for about 5 years. That really broke my heart. My husband and I both agreed from the first day we brought Koji home that we would let him free roam and never cage him again. Happy to say this little guy is thriving. He does binkies everyday. He's gotten so comfortable here in his new home. It's nice to see others out there that also free roam their rabbits. Thanks for the video!
Hi Ik it’s a year later since you’ve commented. I’m getting a rabbit soon and I’m not sure if I should rescue, because I’m scared he/she will be skittish and unable to train. Did you have any issues?
I actually initially started free roaming my bun very shortly after getting her, and I did not even know that this was a possibility. I was just lonely and staying in my room most of the time, so I figured I could let her run around while I am around. I genuinely bought her, thinking that bunnies are just guinea pigs with long ears. Potty training also kind of happened instinctively and she picked it up very fast, whereas I thought bunnies couldn’t even be potty trained...I let her roam around my room more and more ever day and slowly went through the bunny-proofing process, and was amazed at what kind of relationship I was able to develop with her. It’s really given both of us so much value
sumayya naaz Her getting potty trained was a bit of a bi-product of her cage being kind of a hub. Her hay rack was there right from the get-go, so she always went there to eat, and that also meant she did her business there. By the time the cage slowly stopped being used as her home, I noticed she still always makes sure to pee only there while eating. That was when I realized I happened to potty train her ^^” I have to give it to her, she is really manageable
did u let her roam in one room? cause i have a two floored apartment and I dont know if i should let my bunny roam in just my bedroom or the whole house, im scared ill have missed something and she'll enter my sisters room and chew on stuff or fall down the stairs is it fine to keep them in one room cause that feels cruel to me
@@_developing-arc_9250 Most of the time she's in one room, my bedroom is luckily big enough for her zoomie and binky needs. But she's a curious little bean so when the whole family is around and/or we hang out together in the living room, we let her roam around the whole appartment (except for one room) for a few hours. But she prefers to be in the room where we are anyway haha. But if I didn't spend that much time in my room, I would feel bad keeping her there. She is very sociable
My rabbit is basically free roamed, he has taken full control of my room. I don't even bother putting him in his playpen when I have to go somewhere because I know that he'll be fine and more happy. I do have a cage (my parents forced me to get it) but turned it into a nice little cozy area where his water and food bowl is, the cage door is never closed.
- Cozy - this is very similar to my situation, although I do close the door when I’m sleeping because otherwise she keeps me up all night licking and nudging me
I have the same sort of set up, because I have 6 cats and a German Shepard it's not safe for them to free roam the house unfortunately but there's a spare bedroom across from mine that I house them in and then I can let them hang out with me in the living room :) my younger buck likes to jump up on the couch and climb all over me looking for treats lmao
my boyfriend and I got a rabbit around a month ago and decided to free roam her a few days after getting her as whenever she came out her cage she'd be so happy running around etc and its so lovely to see, now her cage is only used as a litter box! so thank you so much for educating us on why free roaming is so important
As soon as I found out my husband was bringing home a bunny from work, I bought a bunny house, put it together (screws, nails, etc- broke a sweat doing so)! I started researching how to care for them, etc. I stumbled upon your channel. Long story short, I had no idea free roaming was a thing! I took apart the bunny house & shipped it back less than 2 weeks later. We bought a pen, worked on liter training him (thanks to your videos) and little by little, started giving him more freedom. After about 2 months of having him, he is completely free roam 24/7 & is loving life!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE VIDEOS!!!
I love Lennon’s space! It is so cute and tidy! I hadn’t thought much about the term “cage” and how it could be twisted or viewed wrong to people who don’t understand that by cage I mean “cage area” which is an open concept where the bunny is free to come and go. I will have to try and use a different term from now on! Sadly I do have predatory animals in the same house hold (my cat along with my parents cats) so I do have to keep them in separate spaces. Which is definitely easier for me considering we have a big house and they can happily have separate areas. However I do worry once I am in an apartment it will be harder for them to have their separate spaces (should I get 2 apartments? 🤔 lol). I will say my cat has been just as destructive if not MORE than my rabbits have been. Also now that my bunnies are no longer babies, they honestly don’t destroy as much as they used to. I am very excited to have my own apartment again so I can free range in larger areas (I have to follow the rules my parents have). I will say my rabbits were WAY more destructive when they were in small enclosures. (Back before I knew about proper rabbit care). I also think it’s sad that the limited cage size promoted is still 2x4ft. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rabbit perfectly content in something this small. Even though it’s better than a store bought cage, I still struggle a LOT when I see rabbits in cages these sizes). One quick note about very destructive bunnies, some rabbits are very determined and will chew THROUGH cord protectors (yes... Lulu chewed through this AND the cord of the rabbit fridge 🤦🏼♀️) so I ended up having to now block off any cords because cord protectors don’t work. (Expens or NIC grids work GREAT!) But some bunnies never touch cord protectors. 🤷🏼♀️ So just as you said, totally depends on the bunny and you just have to learn what is best for them. Great video and free roaming is an amazing thing. Even if you’re young and can only do it in your bedroom because of your parents rules. Any step in the right directions will be greatly appreciated by your bunny!
Thanks for commenting Haley. I've seen your set-up and your rabbits live great lives. And yes, I think switching out the word cage will make a huge difference!! I am sure whenever you move to your own apartment you will figure it all out! You are very crafty xo
101Rabbits exactly! I get it! I also have a cage area for him to eat and sometimes nap! He loves that area! But he does free roam and I love his company
My wife and I have a free roam lionhead bunny. We both follow/followed all your tips and she is an amazing addition to our family. Thank you for all the info we greatly appreciate it.
I'm getting a bunny this Sunday and my rabbit is going to live in a large exercise pen but I will also let him wander around my room under supervision so that way he will get lots of exercise .I have been wanting a rabbit for almost 5 months now I've done lots of research and saved up a lots of money but my mom would not let me get one but then I came across this ad on Craigslist for the adorable baby bunny who is $15 and 10 minutes away I went and met him a few days ago and I absolutely fell in love with him and he seemed to be quite drawn to me and when my mom said that I could adopt him I literally want to scream I am so excited
I believe in you! It’s very easy and once you do she’ll love you forever and run up to you and it’s so amazing, it’s a commitment but not a hard one! It’s honestly amazing and has helped my family and I’s mental and physical health so much! We have to put her in a pen at night so we don’t have any babies step on her 😅
I just got a bunny baby bunny Toast and she’s free roaming in my bedroom. I’m already working on litter training her and it’s going really really well! ❤️❤️
Could u help how you're doing it? Im strggling A LOTTTTT with that. I divided my bedroom due to that :( i want Panda to be abke to be in my room wuth no problem
This has been so useful! I've had two free-roaming bunnies and as you said, It is really rewarding. Pippin runs around me all the time which makes me very happy. I got Pippin because I was dealing with severe depression. I always slept to avoid my life. After I got Pippin, I knew I was waking up to see him each day. We have a very deep bond. He lets me pick him up when I'm sad or pick him up if he's getting himself in trouble, and he doesn't run away. He always comes to lick me. He is naughty from time to time, but I still love him. Thank you for making this video
The Penny And Kelly Show I hope things are getting better for you. Pets have an amazing ability to help us through very dark places. I lost my mum in January and it was only my bunnies that keep me going x
We’re getting 2 bunnies soon and my mom was planning on putting them in a small cage outside, thanks to this video she’s gonna let them free roam! ❤️💕💗💗
I wish l could have my mom agree to let me to have my bunny even in a cage in my room she says no one has a bunny in there room (Free roaming is in a house )Lol ldk but she used to have a bunny doesn't really know anything about bunnies
When I was younger I wasn't allowed to freerome and me and my family knew nothing about bunnies. So my first female bunny lived a terrible life in a small petstore cage. I have learned so much and almost have about 10 years of experience now. When I got Butters my 2nd bunny he lived a large dog crate then got upgraded to a very large xpen. Your channel has inspired me with my 3rd bunny to freerome. You have also inspired me to advocate for indoor housing, proper diet and I also advocate for flemish giants now! When I started housing bunnies in 2013 there was absolutely no information. Your channel has made a big difference. Because I live in Canada the laws are so unfair and cruel for rabbits. Many people breed, mill, neglect and mistreat them and animal testing is legal. I'm so glad you can prove to the world that bunnies deserve so much better. Keep doing what your doing. Much love ♡
growing up something similar happened to our bunny. 30 years later that still haunts me it was wrong. at least we know now. much love to you and your bunny/bunnies.
My boyfriend and I say that their cage is their room in a room 🤣 so they free to choose if they want to leave their room and go whereever they want if they want cause they free 🐦🐦 #MiCasaEsTuCasa
You have changed my rabbits life! A few weeks ago i discovered this video and convinced my mom to let our female bunny, eevee freeroam. And she agreed that eevee should freeroam instead of staying in a very small WIRE BOTTOM cage. She luckly only stayed in that cage for only a week, no longer. Eevee is now a freeroam bunny with many hiding spaces, warm house, water and food bowls around the house, toys, hay, and more!
My bunnies free roamed, its the best decision I made. She would shake her cage every night, so one day I just removed the door and our bond has grown so much since. She sleeps, eats, plays with me. I still have her cage as a sort of refresh station where she goes to eat, drink, and potty. Sometimes she'll choose to sleep in there, sometimes she'll sleep on my bed or her bed. She's barely a year now and she's well trained and behaved, she still has some stubborn moments where she wants to nibble on the wall or blanket to mess with me. I'll tell her to stop and she'll run away blinkiying lmbo. I just have to remember that she's still young. But its so worth it! We're best friends who understand each other xD.
My rabbits don't free roam in my house, they graciously allow me to live in theirs! I can't recommend the web cam enough, no substitute for being there with them but it's peace of mind when you can't.
Thank you so much for all of these videos! Right now I've watched every single one of them, even before I even had my own bunny. You really opened my eyes. When I was a child (about 5 -6), My parents brought me two rabbits that we kept outside in a cage. They only lived about 2 - 3 years. I feel so sorry for them. 😔 I really wish my parents would have known better. Since then, I never thought about getting a bunny again, until one day, when I stumbled across your channel. It was absolutley amazing to see a rabbit running around just like dogs or cats. I watched all of your videos, bunnyproofed my home and two months ago I got myself Kimon. He was kept in horrible conditions. After two months in his new home he is now neutered, litter box trained, listens when I call him and he couldn't be more grateful for giving him the space that he needs. Thank you so much!!! 💚🐰 #nomorecages
My rabbit just turned a year yesterday and has been a free roamed bunny since the day I brought her home. Free roaming her has definitely had its ups and downs, but seeing her have her freedom everyday makes it 1000% worth it. Your videos over the past year have been super informative and useful in helping me successfully care for and make her a free roam bun. Personally encourage everyone to put in the extra time and money to “rabbit safe” an area of their home to allow their bunny to free roam!
Clara Grace Honestly, it was all about supervision for the first week or so... seeing what areas she stuck too and what her behaviours were in those areas. When it came to her food she easily sniffed it out and knew exactly where her food was. Try leading the rabbit with some veggies or treats so it gets familiar with eating in that area and stay in a good feeding routine (my bunny will wait on her food matt for her veggies now). As for the litre box, I personally found a corner to put it into as it seemed more natural (before she was peeing in the corner of her pen.) I highly recommend getting your bunny fixed if it isn’t so already because it will decrease any territorial messes. If the bun is still making accidents around the house, try blotting up the mess and adding it into the litre box so she can smell her scent... encouraging her to use the lite box. It make take a few tries, but stick to it! I promise it’s worth it. Your bunny is smart and will learn where everything is. GOODLUCK!
It’s a week now that I’ve had my 4 month old rescue bunny. House broken already(WOW) she really did it herself. I let her free roam for hours in a guest bedroom. She goes all over the room and eventually hides under the bed and I don’t know how to get her out to put her back into her pen. Any recommendations? When she’s in her pen she often jumps into her litter box when I come into the room and just sits there, is that normal???
Sheila Quinones personally I find this normal behaviour.... she feels safe in the areas she is going into... I’m not a professional, but my bun tends to just go under the bed from like noon til around dinner time, it’s her safe nap spot... your bunny is probably just making the room her own and finding where she feels is safe to her. Tip: try adding two litre boxes... one inside her pen and one outside her pen( both with hay) this way she has the option and will learn not to be afraid to use the bathroom outside her pen while you are roaming around! Good luck :)
When I first saw this video I was in PETCO buying a cage for my daughters bunny. I decided to use the information from this video and let the bunny free range my daughters room. I bought a litter box and filled it up with Critter Care paper bedding and added some of the bunnies pee and poop to it. Today, the bunny runs all over my house and has not made a single mess or chewed on any items in my home. I no longer feel bad of having a caged up animal in my house. Thank you for this video!!
Since my parents won’t let me free roam my bunny I was saving up and bought a $700 hut which has three floors and has a capacity of 40 rabbits and I only have one so snowfake if u see this your one spoiled rabbit
OMG my name is spelled Gabriella too, isn't it soo sad when you go to a store and see all of the names and look for yours but only see Gabrielle, ahhhhhh it drives me nuts.
I'm getting my first rabbit on Sunday. I'm so excited! It's a five month old rescue that has been living on a cage since it was born. Can't wait to start free roaming her around the bedroom and soon have her running around the house🤗🤗. Also love your videos, so helpful!
Lorelei is DEFINATELY all of our unspoken voices when it comes to bunnies :) and 4:41 can we all just take a moment to appreciate how lennon casually fell asleep on the hard floor 1 FOOT away from her bed
For some of you thinking of getting a rabbit or a current rabbit owner, this video is 100% accurate and so well done. Kudos to this young lady. Follow her guidelines and you see the full personality of your rabbit come out and shine. They are incredible pets. Keep in mind rabbits are NOT great pets for toddlers, young children and some older children. Cheers
That is not the truth. Rabbits chew the shit out of your drywall and woodwork and destroy your wood flooring with piss and shit absolutely everywhere even though litter box trained. Rabbits are a nightmare. They have damaged my formerly nice house in the tens of thousands of dollars. I am the nicest animal lady ever and they do this to me. I cannot afford to have my house repaired. Never get a rabbit!
I feel so sad and it breaks my heart thinking of the bunny I had... My parents told me to keep this 'Wire' bottom in for cleanliness...and it was a small cage.. And i know now how sad my bunny was, one day my parents gave it away without telling me first... Im so happy that I know better now but It breaks my heart That I didnt know or do better for that lovely guy..
@@lazyhomebody1356 thank you... that actually helped me feel better. Victim of false teachings heh... Thank you though for taking the time to write that comment!
It's ok I think most people grow up with the thought that rabbits belong in cages. The best thing you can do now is give your next bunny all the freedom and love that the first one missed out on as sort of a token of respect and love for the first one!! Don't beat yourself up over it though, if you didn't know any better then it's not like you PURPOSELY imposed that sort of life on your bunny. Try to remember what the woman in the video said, you will make mistakes ❤
It breaks my heart when I think of the bunny I had as a kid. She was kept in a hutch with my sisters rabbit in a hutch at the bottom of the garden. She was fed a muesli mix and iceberg lettuce. I don’t even know if they had hay, just straw. But I was a child, I didn’t know better and neither did my mum. But Angelica and Blue crossed the rainbow bridge quite young, but at least they can binky free in heaven’s meadows.
We bought a two month old brown bunny a few weeks ago from a nice pet store. Pearl is a wonderful brown bunny. She adapted to her new environment within just a couple of days. I made a cardboard box inside of her cage, to hide, and feel safe, as she needed that. She has a comfortable large corner litter box that has a screen top, complete with a fixed water bowl close by the hanging hay bag, so that she can eat and drink and poop and pee, as rabbits usually do. After she finishes her meals, and wants to come out of her cage to roam around the first floor that is carpeted, it is fun to watch her sprint, jump, stand up and look around, and just lay next to her, when she decides to sprawl out after her brief workouts. The problem that is still going on, is that she drops a few poops when she is hopping around, or even after she sits after several seconds, before running to the other side of the room. We don’t mind picking up the dry round poops after she hops back into her cage (Wabbitat). NOTE: Any poops that we pick up, we put inside her litter box. But, my wife gets upset and emotional, when she sees Pearl dropping a few poops, or several poops here and there, when Pearl roams around the rooms. Pearl is still too young to be spaded or neutered (not 100% sure she is a female). So, why is she dropping poops when she is out and about? She know where her litter box is, she goes there inside her cage on her own now to feed, and drink water. She is affectionate with us, licks our skin, and even jumps on our laps for those extra massages and caresses. So, is this poop droppings normal? Will she grow out of that? Any advice would be appreciated.
My rabbit has been free roam ever since I got him. I've had him for about a year now and he couldn't be happier! I love him so much and I would never want to harm him. I have been thinking about adopting another rabbit because I have learned they have been very neglected. I have a real heart for animals I have a cat, two dogs, a hamster, and a rabbit. I think I should do some research because I don't know if involving another bunny in my bunny's life is a benefit for him or not. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love your channel and honestly you are the main reason my rabbit has such and amazing life!
xXLucyXx I think Lorelei covered this in a previous video, but talk to your local shelter if you're thinking about a friend for your bun. I'm from the UK but I guess it's similar over there, in that many shelters or rescues would be happy to help match your bunny with a friend they will like x
our rabbit lives in a room in our basement that used to be a fake house for us to place house as kids. It's huge and has windows and is the size of a normal room. I feel like now instead of walking into her room with the door closed, I will start opening the doors so if she feels threatened, I can comfort her and if she wants to go out, she can. I will work on bunny proofing my basement this summer so we can maybe leave her down there by her self to free roam if she wants. Thank you so much!
This channel probably saved my two babies lives, if it wasn't for Lennon the bunny my rabbits would be living out side. But now they get to free rome inside. Thank you! Lorelei and Lennon!
I know this isn’t the main point of the video, but your hair is SO CUTE (your points are also amazing and valid and you are the reason my bunnies are free roam)
Thank you so much for providing so much useful information about bunnies!! We just adopted a bunny from our local human society 2 weeks ago and was looking for information about how to look after bunnies before adoption. Your channel popped up right away and we were so thankful to get lots of useful information (basic care and free roam your rabbit) from you before we brought her home! 🥰 It's a great channel for beginners! Thank you again ~💕
My bunny is free roam. When I am at work or have to go out. She only has access to the kitchen for her food/water & litter box, the hallway & my bedroom. She comes outside with me when I am in the garden & she loves to help me hang my laundry on the washing line. She is my baby & the best roomie ever.
I legitimately cried during this video figuring out how much hell I put my rabbit through every day, she is in her cage all day everyday, she doesn't have unlimited hay to eat everyday, she just started eating spinach and greens yesterday and she just turned a YEAR OLD. I have absolutely no fu**ing idea what to do, I don't have enough space in my bedroom to let her free roam because I'm genuinely terrified that she will eat something she isn't supposed to, I can't afford to spay her, so she will be out of control out of her cage from what I understand, I just need some help from anyone who can help me. Please like this comment so maybe Lorelei and Lennon can see this and assist me, or any of you fellow people who can give me even a little advice.
Weekly Adventures Im sorry you are feeling that way. I just got my bunnies and I am not allowed to have them inside so they live in a hutch.. I take them outside of the hutch to play in an x pen with me .. i give them unlimited hay and water and pellets because they are only 4 weeks old.. I even bought them heating pads for rabbits.. I plan on getting them neautured when they are old enough.. but I definitely understand how you feel I am super sad because I just started watching her videos and feel like a total asshole now.. When i move out i will start free roaming but for the next 6-12 months this will be their life and I am trying to make the most of it.. I hope she responds to your and my comment with advice
Weekly Adventures try calling vets around you to ask for the cost of spaying/ neutering. You can decide which one to go to from there and keep watching channels like Lennon the Bunny and 101Rabbits! Wishing the best of luck to you and your bun
update a week after posting this I convinced the people I live with to let them inside so now they live in a x pen and have a second one connected to it for playing I have made a lot of changes since this comment to better their lives
Sadly sometimes a cage could be useful, mostly to protect the bunny from other people. Sounds crazy, but in my experience a cage helped me and my rabbit. Hazel is extremely territorial despite being neutered, he approach people without fear and he might even attack them if they disrespect his authority! So when I have guests I rather to keep him in his cage for a while, instead of risking injuries - on him, who cares about the guests, a small scratch on the hand or a bite is nothing compared to a broken leg on of my rabbit because they didn't mind their steps. Because yes, most of people believe rabbits are toy pet and they will try to pick him up even if I asked them to not to, try to guess why I'm so selective with friends at the point I'm considered asocial. Luckily Hazel enters in the cage without complain, because I make sure to give him extra treats so he will associate the caged time to yummy food. For the rest of his time he's free roaming and happy.
Lory Wolfsong I was looking for someone to comment this. I love the idea of free roaming your rabbit, but when my house has 5 other people I’m constantly on edge... like what if someone steps on him... what if they’re not paying attention and leave the back door open etc etc. Majority of them are 6”3 + and never watch where they’re going, even without the bunny. I feel like at night or when I’m not home for a few hours I like to put them away, just so I know that they’re not in something he shouldn’t be in. I also feel like it’s best for a rabbit to have a secure area that’s 100% theirs, like a bedroom for people. 😆
This video is a actually really insightful I think it's interesting that even in my course (animal management) hutches are still encouraged. I actually recently did an assignment about suitable accommodation one of the animals was a rabbit and yet the accommodation we were encouraged to choose is in fact unsuitable. Thank you so much it's always interesting to learn from people with experience. I appreciate this video.💛
This video was so helpful! I showed my parents this and they were so up to free roaming my rabbits and I've never seen them this happy. Thank you so much for opening me and my parent's eyes to bunny care.
When i say to friend, that i gonna have my bunny free in my house, he said that im crazy. But i said to her thats much better to uave them free then to have them i a cage. I think he understand🐰 Sry for my bad english, im swedish❤️
#NOMORECAGES I just love it that you are raising your voice against locking up rabbits in cages...My rabbit is a free roam since 5 years...he is always running about...circling around my feet and sometimes peeing on my feet...He is the love of my life...i am incomplete without him...(My rabbit was sleeping under the bed but right now he started licking my feet)But the sad part is that at nights I have to put him in a cage 😢😢😭😭because here in the area where I live cats easily enter houses and 4 rabbits are killed this year in our neighbourhood...so at night I keep him a huge cage as big as a play pen...where he plays and ears and sleeps...so he does not complain... Guys please do not keep your rabbits in a small little cage even for sometime...let them free roam at least during the day...i would sleep with him but my parents don't allow me...so I have to leave him in that cage... Well I love you Lorelei and Lennon... (Will anyone say HI to Milo my rabbit...please) Xoxo
My rabbit is very smart as she always found a way to jump in my book shelf to chew most of my books, even after I've tried everything to block it. Good thing she doesn't jump in there anymore.
@@watermelon8212 Nope. You should buy two. Bunnies really need a mate of their own sort in order to be truly happy, doesn't matter if you can be around a lot or not. Hope you'll get two and give them a ough space 24 hours a day
originally my rabbit was supposed to live in a play pen but he just hated it and would make noise all the time. then i just let him out at day and put him in a play pen at night but he would literally try to move the play pen away. i just got tired of not being able to sleep so now he is just free roaming and very happy. though he does make lots of trouble but he is a rabbit lol. he has destroyed my expensive earphones and lots of chargers. also my table by scrathing it. but i love him no matter what. also it’s very lovely to be waken up by my rabbit in the morning. #NOMORECAGES
Free roaming my rabbits initially started by accident (long before I was properly educated on housing them) I came home from school one day and found that they broke out of their pen. Nothing in my room was destroyed, and no litter accidents. It was then that I realized they don't need the pen doors closed. I can tell they're so much happier now and even sleep more from running around :)
thats what i do and my rabbit loves it. Its my parents home so i don't get control but he has a little less than 50% of my room and the only reason he doesn't have more is because i need space for my furniture.
I can't legally own rabbits in my state but I just came across your channel and I'm really loving it! Keep up the great work and your bunny is very well loved and cared for ❤🐇
I hope Lennon is feeling better. You both are two beautiful angels and I have been here forever. You even convinced my parents to get me a bunny. Her name is Luna, a Havana mix, like Lennon! Thanks.😀😀😁😁😂😂🤣🤣😃😃😋😋😊😊😍😍
Thanks for the amazing video. My neighbor left and abandons some rabbits in back of her house and it has babies so I have taken into my own hands to care for them and I am learning so much. Thanks for all the help and info
SO beautiful! I had never heard of people doing this, when I owned a bunny about 10 years ago now, so glad to see others doing it!. His name was Bear and he would live in out house. He was toilet trained and walked on a lead if we went away, and he would lay on the couch with me. Its so amazing! People are sos surprised Rabbits are like this! But i think its their natural personality :)
So a sad story about my rabbit is that she was given to my teacher by a student that bred bunnies. My teacher was from China so she didn’t have a house. And because my aunt and uncle house a lot of foreign exchange students so my teacher lived at my aunt and uncle’s house. This meant that the rabbit (Tutu/图图) couldn’t really free roam because it wasn’t her house and they had a dog(the dog would never hurt her but she still hated that dog.) I really loved Tutu and my teacher was taking a trip to China so she let me rabbitsit Tutu over the summer. She lived in a birdcage which is really sad. Eventually she learned how to break out. So we had to put a clip on the door. Eventually the summer ended and I really wanted a rabbit. My teacher knew that I could give Tutu a better life so she gave Tutu to me. We also had a dog. But we had a dog that was really old and gentle. In some of my dog’s last months somebody was rabbitsitting for us because we had gone on vacation. They sent us a picture of Tutu sitting on our dog. Tutu was more aggressive then our dog. When our dog died sadly, Tutu got reign of our house. I am proud to say that she will never live in a birdcage again.
Thank you for your informative videos. Puff has been free roam most of his life and he just turned 12. He's a very happy and healthy 102 year old bunny! (In bunny years lol).
I got two bunnies a few days ago. My room has a bunch of wooden funiture so they cant be completely free roam. But the have a 4foot by 4foot by 4feet tall. After a while I'm planning to free roam, but first I'm letting them settle down in our home. They were rescue bunnies, so they are a bit all over the place. Hopefully they will be free roam in two weeks. Edit: they are about 5 months
It is so crazy how much your Lennon looks like my bunny! 😯 what's more crazy? My bunnies name was Lenore. ❤ she passed away about 2 years ago and seeing Lennon reminds me of all the wonderful times we had together. ☺
Hi I'm a new fan and I wanted to say that my dad is going to buy me a new rabbit and I wanted to ask you if you can show me how to transfer her to love me 💓
ahh I've been watching these videos since I was younger and now that I'm 19, I feel prepared to raise my own bunnies and this video is sooooo helpful for me to prepare my space for my future bunnies to free roam :) I was a bit worried since I have carpeting but I've found may resources and ways to prevent bunnies from nibbling at it as well as ways to potty train them :).
My rabbit is going to have my whole basement. We just got my rabbit and i'm going to show my mom this video so she can free roam it a little more! Thanks for this video.
It's been 1 minute after she's uploaded and she already has 205 views 79 likes(btw I was the 79th person to like) 0 dislikes ( I hope it stays 0 because lennon doesn't deserve to be disliked She is too cute😊) ❤️I LOVE LENNON THE BUNNY❤️
I was the fifth dislike I totally didn't mean to I instantly liked and started crying I would never dislike her vids they are so cute also my bun actually threw my phone when I disliked
I have a big house, and just got two bunnies about 7 weeks old. Still learning, and your video helps a lot. I have them blocked off to my kitchen and other dining room. I have a small terrier mix, and he is in between with them. So I keep him separated from them, and of course when we leave or go to bed they go in the big hutch we have. But mainly when I'm home I wanna be able to let them have those 2 huge spaces to themselves, so potty training is my next step. I'm hoping it will be somewhat easier than cats, so my next step is watching more videos. But thank you for all the help. You're doing a fantastic job, keep it up!
We have her run around the house with my eye because I have little siblings so like 60% of the time she runs in the hallway I have ( it’s like a hallway with my room with a baby gate at the end) but at night we put her in a 6x8 foot pen around 11pm because I know she’s active at night 😅 when she is running the house she has learned that me saying “home!” She runs to my room and flops on the floor and I feed her kale haha it’s the best!
The reason for so long my mom would not let me have my rabbit free roaming was because she had it in her mind that he would pee all over my room, so I said can you give me one week and if he pees once in my room Ill keep him in his pen, and just like k told her he didn’t! People just don’t understand that a rabbit should be seen as an animal not like a hamster but like a cat 💕 now my bunny runs around my room and cuddles in my bed with me!
I have 3 cats so I'm not able to let my 2 bunnies free-range in my entire house. It gets me down but I am trying to bring them into my bedroom more often so they have space to explore. Have you tried having your rabbit in your bedroom yet? Mine prefer to stay on the floor and like sleeping under my bed so it may not be a problem if you try it out. If you're sitting on your bed then they may also just want your company so if you had a chair or beanbag in your room that may reduce their interest in the bed.
You're so right. I mean the only reason I see my bunny as different from a cat/dog is because of his size. A big ass dog isn't sneaking up on you, and cats are also (usually) bigger than a rabbit. Whereas he's so little and likes to camp under my feet and be my shadow. It's why I've been nervous to let him free roam because he may get hurt!
I’ve literally just posted on my insta story and sent to all my contacts a poster I made about disassociating bunnies with cages and asking would you put a dog in a cage I’m acc so proud of it xxx
We just rescued a female bunny that we found in our backyard that we later found out was left in our area after the owner didn't want them. We decided since she's so sweet and calm that we could keep her. I'll admit, we (and are FOR NOW) did the whole big cage and poor equipment. I've been watching your channel and we decided to let her free roam our open basement that we are currently renovating. We can't 100% free roam because we have a cat and very unsafe house (cords, small crooks, and the occasional mess. Btw we trained and have had our cat so she's safe, just not a small and curious bunny) and so I was gonna let her have the basement where I'm moving my bedroom into. I just wanted to say this because I want people to realize that letting your rabbits free is a death sentence and you don't realize how stressful it can put a family into if they find it. I also wanted to know if anyone had tips that you found personally because I've just been binging this channel waiting for the day we can move her into that open and let her free.
