Thank you for the personal attention. I appreciate it so much. May you continue to prosper and live long and helping us with the things we really need help with blessings from Houston
Have always frozen them raw and they always come out full of water when cooked. I will try this method -- looks good. Thanks for the video. I like the way you reply to everyone's questions -- not many people do that. Have subscribed.
I have been washing mushrooms for years! Just don't soak them & I dry them gently and carefully. So glad to see someone who finally says this can be done! Also love your freezing method and will try it soon. I tray freeze lots of things: raspberries, blue berries, rhubarb slices, strawberries, some extra herbs, homemade gnocchi before boiling, etc. Many things don't require cooking first. I'm fixing dinner for just me most of the time. So nice to be able to get just a handful of this or that. Will watch your storing mushroom video next.
The other videos on RU-vid does not teach you to sautee them first which is such an important step! Thanks for the great tip, now I won’t have soggy mushrooms!
I'm the only 1 in my family to like mushrooms but I needed a way to buy large amounts but without having spoilage before I can use them. Great tips! Thanks!
I've always bought canned mushrooms I went into a grocery app and saw frozen mushrooms I didn't know you can buy them frozen this will save me money thank you
Just got a kg of oyster mushroom here in Rwanda and taking it to doha since its so expensive there! Thanks to your video that I wont be wasting my love 💕
A certain grocery store will sometimes mark mushrooms down to practically nothing, and so I always had too many on hand and they would go bad and so what I did was I would put them in a large ball, and let them sit on the counter to dry out even for daysand then was able to put them in recipes eggs and just cook them with other recipes
Thx for the awesome video...I'm going to freeze mushrooms like you showed us in this video..but when I want to make pizza how should I use the frozen mushrooms..do I thaw them out, then slice them..should I squeeze any juice out of them !thx
I really appreciate ur help when it comes to preserving vegetables - I don’t trust some other videos haha. Like u said other methods work if u just want to throw in a soup but to preserve the texture only ur method works and I have been looking everywhere for this guidance !
Man @Jerry Jones Stone You are a godsend! Really smart good advice. I'm a recovering alcoholic so it's really important for me to eat the right organic vegetables. and portobello mushrooms are high on the list. With that said went to Costco froze a bunch of mushrooms in the organized package. D thawed 3 of them for my vegetable medley... soggy chewy, I can't wait to be done with this pound of vegetables I cooked cooked for the next few days. However this weekend when I go back to get my 3 months supply of frozen vegetables, I'm totally gonna do your advice!! Out here in Maui, HI vegetables are expensive and you know of course the man always wants us to work harder, For him. than the ability to have time for ourselves in our own vegetable garden. Like I said thank you for this video and I can't wait to try it and check back in. To let you know how I did
@@jerryjamesstone Yeah Hey how's it Jerry! I wanted to come back and give you the update I promise! So I light sautéed those portabella mushrooms, In Olive oil no seasoning. As you suggested.. it smelts so good, like hamburgers; it was so bizarre. Space them out let them cool to room temperature threw it in the freezer. My initial 1st regret in retrospect was not precutting these portobellos because they're the full size adult caps. But as far as re cooking for mixed vegetables it came out da bomb! light chewy but so insignificance it hardly mattered. I'm almost wondering if I could have helped it more by scooping the black whatever that is out before before the initial saute. Along with precutting. It's like a weird delicate game of dethawing these mushrooms to cut to bite size pieces it's pieces and then getting it to cook evenly with all my other frozen vegetables.
Alright so i'm chef 1:29 You can wash mushrooms but the added water does make them more like boiled than fried. You should wipe them down with the a damp cloth but what i do when i's lazy and don't want to eat fertilizer, i rinse them for a second and then instantly dry them. I notice a lot of people cook or par cook vegetables before freezing them, is it something you have to do to freeze them or only for mushrooms, or just makes it easier? Recently i decided that i better start freezing certain things because its pretty hard to find specific frozen vegetables. But believe it or not i haven't froze anything is so long.. I usualy just make everything for the family from stuff i buy the week.
@@jerryjamesstone Merci lol how did i not know that.. I feel like this internet era has made people forget simple things that we once knew. Reliant on searching to much maybe? crazy world, thanks bud.
Appreciate the vid. Ive frozen sauteed mushrooms b4 but never thought to freeze b4 combining. Now i can shop in the bulk store since kroger switched to plastic cartons :(
Thanks for the tip! I use mushrooms sliced for pizza toppings, omelets or stir fry. Would you recommend slicing them before cooking? or after? or not at all... lol
Hi, just found your video and have a quick question. For people like me who don't use oil can we sautee in veg stock or water, will they freeze well? Thanks
How would you do the long big king oyster mushrooms? I want some available for frying like chicken. Thanks so much! Oh! I want that shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi., will this work for all mushrooms? I recently found lions Maine mushrooms in my supermarket and they had an amazing effect on my mental clarity. Now I want to buy them up., as I have never seen them in the store before.
I need a video after you freeze then use them. Like , How do you use them if you wanted to thaw them out & use them on a pizza? Do you cook them again? ''Example:: ''whats next?? .. if i am trying to explain what i mean?? Thanks!!
Has anyone tried this and unthawed the mushrooms to add a stuffing into them or place them on pizza? If so, were the mushrooms filled with water or made the dish it was put in watery?
@@jerryjamesstone Got it! Thank you! I will be able to try it today. They have been frozen for a week now, and yes they are already sliced to the way I want. Thank you, I will keep this thread updated.
Can I use this method with a meatless stuff mushroom? If so do I sauteed, let cool, stuff and freeze or should I freeze without the bread crumb stuffing?
Enjoyed the information, thank you, but... this 6 minute video only had about 2 minutes of information. There is only so much watching mushrooms being stirred necessary to get the point. Thumbs up still.
Im purchasing Portobello mushrooms at Aldis. Great store. Yes. The portobello doesnt have the stem and its wrap in plastic amd refrigerated. Whats wrong with this picture. Can you help me?
Hey, do not salt mushrooms before sautéing because the water will retain and browning will take longer, thus the cooking time increase, hope that helps :)
Jerry James Stone that is the name of the pan that I bought at William-Sonoma for my oil cooking. It’s absolutely amazing and it has helped me lower my LDL 50% in a month🥳
