Ben, I've been trying to FS tailslide while skating parallel to the curb, and the minor adjustment of coming at the curb at an angle completely changed the game for me. Thanks so much for this valuable video!
After knowing only some shuv it tricks and 180 (no flips yet but I'm close), last Monday I just found some nice stairs. So, I've started with 50-50 in place, and it was super easy. Then I tried while rolling, and then also with rolling shuv its. I did all that stuff just in one day! I didn't grind though as I think it could be hard without wax, but it's still cool to lock the board on the stair. So, I'm going to try with tail now! I bought wax today :). Just wanted to share the encouragement to anyone who needs it, as after constant skating for the last 3 years (and this is almost all my skating for a 36yo guy), I'm really starting to feel the board and some of grinds seem to be not that hard. Awesome video! Thanks for an inspiration! Why did I forget on Monday to try with FS180 and with FS180 to fakie? :D. Cheerz!
The way you explained how to get into this trick, by riding at a very slight angle and using the 90 degree ollie to lock into the tail slide, that really has helped me to visualize how I will lock into this trick. I'm very excited to try this. Also, practicing it on an unwaxed curb in the form of a stall instead of a grind, thats a fantastic, low-risk, confidence building way to learn tge motion...genius.. plus it teaches you a stall you can do. Thanks Ben!
"riding into the curb and using your 90 to lock in" I was just thinking that my problem was I am try to turn too much and the tail is getting ahead of the nose, I realized the nose has to stay ahead to get locked in and Ben stated the same thing in a very simple way near the beginning Awesome im going to get tails tonight for sure Update: I got em in about 15 mins after this! The key was to think about both toes pointed in the same direction, towards the ledge at the same angle I approach the ledge
One of my most frustrating tricks. Crusty curb, no problem. On slicker stuff, I always catch the wheels cuz my angle is little off or my heel on top and get kicked off immediately OR like 1/20 slides like crazy giving me a heart attack.
Front side tail slide i have always had a hard with these mostly cuz i suck at frontside ollies Imm better at backside tail slides Still good and extreamly helpful tutorial im going to defintely try your tips on frontside tail slides
My problem is my balance. I’ve been doing nose slides and got so good at them that my weight of my body just goes to the opposite side of my tail slide. Please help me. Even on a low curve or no speed at all my body just drags me the opposite way :/
I've done them before but pretty sporadically and never very well. I should learn them, thanks for the tips, makes sense to try it on a sticky curb first and then go on from there.
This is one of the most unpredictable tricks for me. I've been skating for 13 years and this trick comes and goes. Even when I have it, I don't really have it. I can slide a little and then I lose them again. I really don't know what I have to do to fix it. The slide is never comfortable. Any tips on how to make the slide feel more comfortable and easier to hold
I would try getting into one and staying there for a while with the tip of you front foot hanging off. Try practicing different foot positions to figure out how you like to slide. I hope this helps
@@fivehourenergy6159 Thanks! I'll give it a shot. It's weird because when I feel like I give enough weight to my back foot to slide it, it doesn't slide, but then I do the opposite and it slides when I'm not expecting it. Maybe that's because of foot placement?
I have been doing that with all of my tricks and it's frustrating me landing alot of heel flips like 10 minutes later I can't land it anymore sometimes I land it all the time then the next day I can land it even one time
I can always get in them but never could slide them that well. I Wish you or Someone went more in depth on how important it is to be completely sideways on the ledge or any tips to slide em or you'll stick everytime. skatings hard lol
Are you supponera to press down the nose with the front foot, or should i just let it kind off hover? Or i have notice that i offen end up balancing only on my back foot while sliding
I can't fathem how people call fs nose slide a FS nose slide when they were facing backwards but people call this a fs tail slide which seems the right way to me lol I've always hated the differences in fs and bs names
Love your vids man. I would be super stoked to learn backside tailslides and backside 5-0's. I was wondering if you could film a video of you explaining how you do them.
Ben which do you find easier to hold for a long time, a frontside tail slide, or a backside nose slide? I haven't learned either of these tricks yet, just slappy back nose slides, and I was just wondering which one is easier for you to hold for several feet
im having trouble with getting locked into the tailslide. its like a try the 90 degree ollie into it but i end up slipping off of the curb or not getting the whole rotation. any tips?
Hey man, how are you so good at keeping your back foot on the board when you Ollie? My back foot comes off quite a bit until my front foot finally levels out the board with the drag.
Ben Degros awesome, I appreciate it my man! I get in at least an hour a day or every other day in front of the house. As you know it’s tough to skate with a 10 month old lol. Keep up with the vids man. Loving them. Your very inspiring for sure!
I can do like 15-17 other tricks, but I haven't done a TailSlide in like 2 years n so I decided to try it again today - but I got so angry I snapped my goddamn bored. Excuse me wtf-
Thanks for this !! I’ve watched just about every video you’ve posted! You’re definitely underrated keep em up and i hope to get this good one day being that I’m 38 and started to skate again. I’m hoping my bones could keep up with me lmao
