I'm from Iraq and I have a car store called Dubai Stars. I was looking if someone was studying this work on RU-vid, but I didn't get it. Finally, I found this explanation with you. Thank you.
@@halohunter7243 thank you 😊 I do it outside my flat as a side hustle just now, but hoping in the future I’ll have my own indoor space. Just got to work hard and chase the dream 💪
@@ShaksWD 100% dont stop till you get to that point, thats exactly what im trying to do, tinting is a good business to get into, im currently practicing and getting my technique down, do you use global tint?
@@halohunter7243 Awesome!! 😊 keep at it! Definitely a good business to get into, once you get your customers and word by mouth that you do tints you’ll be doing awesome! A lot of people likes to get their cars tinted 😜 these are the tint I use as well as vinyl wrapping films (I’ve got no affiliation with the link, I really recommend): www.starvinyl.co.uk/window-and-car-light-tint.html
Why do you apply the wrap to the inside out of interest? Seems to me on the outside it'd provide protection from stone chips etc on the glass? Nice vid, helpful, thanks.
Tint always goes on the inside as wiper blades can easily scratch it but you can get specific protection film where it’s much more stronger for the windscreen where it gets installed on the outside. Thanks for tuning in 😊
@@SapphireKeyes Hey! Thanks for stopping by 😊 Any glass cleaner will do to clean the windows, house hold glass cleaners can work just as good. For the slip solution, I’ve put 10 drops of Johnstone’s baby shampoo into 500ml of water.
Hi mate, when cutting the final shape around the window and the sensors, how do you know that you wont cut in to the windscreen glass and cause damage? i want to give this a go but dont want to mark the outside of the window with the knife. cheers
Hi Daniel, The glass won’t get marked when cutting out the shape, glass is very tough. Remember to always work with a fresh blade so it’s sharp enough to cut through the film without applying too much pressure, that’s usually when you’ll mark the glass by working with a blunt blade and too much pressure being applied because it’s not properly cutting through the film. I encourage you to give it a go! 😊
Hey! Thanks for stopping by. I was cutting in the grooves to get rid of the excess and then cutting on the glass for the final shape once the film had been shrunk to the shape of the glass
@ShaksWD yup saw as I kept watching, but thanks for the reply :) thinking about trying myself one day, doesn't seem too hard and I take my time with things
I was wet shrinking the film outdoors incase a slight wind catches it and creasing the film when attempting a dry shrink. There wasn’t any crease marks when finished? This was on my personal car as this was my first attempt and surprising it went down well. If I wasn’t happy seeing any creases, bubbles or dust, I would’ve ripped it off and started again
@ShaksWD as a tint fitter myself, i dont understand why you would even attempt it outside, also there was definitely a crease bottom passenger side of the screen, which was mostly cut off when trimming to size, but half was left in the window in plain view, i know what a crease looks like 🤣 also once tinted the camera wont show it but definitely will see it in person
@@LifeBeingWilson I get you! Yes there was crease before cutting to shape, but luckily it was past the dotted matrix so that doesn’t matter 😁 but can you kindly point out at what time frame you have noticed the crease that I was cutting where I left half of it on? the challenges we have in life if you don’t have an outdoor space. I can do a RU-vid shorts on the full windscreen? But goes to show a first timer can attempt it themselves 😊 I’m not a tinter but know the basics (love to learn) but not being able to have my own indoor space can be a pain when working against the Scottish weather elements and I respect the trade you’re in.
@@LifeBeingWilson as a tint fitter myself, i can do a set of tints outside no problem :D instead of talking shite you could just praise someone for trying and encourage it.
Hi Samuel. I haven’t measured the final VLT, the film is rated at about 82% and by looking at it after the install I reckon about 75%-80% is my guess. It’s very subtle and I haven’t had any problems driving past the traffics and VOSA plenty of times. It’s a great film to work with and very easy to shrink
@@ShaksWD ok cool. The vid helped loads, I've done back and side windows but in a way I think the front window will be easier than the rear as it's flatter surface to work on, also I haven't got my mirror built into the window (suzuki swift mk3) so should be simple hopefully. Thanks again 👍
@@charmainhill7886 let us know how you get on :) You’ll do well as this was my first time doing the chameleon tint. As I’m more of a detailing and wrapping guy :) Good luck 💪
@@Jay-ye9zu thank you :) This was my first time trying out the chameleon tint, I hope you stick around for more future content in detailing and wrapping
@@ShaksWD i will alright was a great vid.and fair play for first attempt.i havnt tryed chameloen yet.but iv started to window tint and tgus is my next thing to try.just waiting on my garage to be built then ill give it a go.but your video was a good one to watch you made it look easy enough mate keep up the good work
@@Jay-ye9zu having your own indoor space really helps to minimise any dust and debris that gets carried around by the wind and also shields you from different weather elements (my dream is to have my own indoor space) I’m hoping I’ll have another chameleon window tinting work in the near future as I’m starting to do voice overs in my videos for my viewers (as I see my subscribers as my friends) like yourself :)
When shrinking the film to conform to the shape of the glass, always liner side up. When it’s time to install on the inside you peel the liner side away and spray your slip solution to the adhesive and put it onto the glass and squeegee out all the solution. I hope my explanation helps, I’m rubbish at explaining sorry lol
@@FakiShots oh no 🫣 did you try the dry shrink method by using soap? My slip solution is made up of 5 drops of baby shampoo with 500ml water doing the wet shrink method
Sorry, back then I didn’t have enough confidence to talk and show my face 😅 Hoping I’ll be doing another one in the future where I can talk through step by step
