Hi, I have just come across your video - is it possible to get an extension with a natural overlay? I have quiet short nails, but don't want them ruined by acrylics but I want an extension so they look a bit longer.

So you have to use a base gel before you use a builder gel?

instead of the protein bond could i used the gelish foundation gel? and then use the structure gel on top? what is the protein bond for? i wanna put it on top of my natural nails as well but i want my nails to be more stronger so i got the soak off structure gel to put on top of the foundation gel you think that will be alright?

i am in love with your channel!! i have a question and it's actually coming from the "how to gel nails" video. i've noticed you used plastic tips instead of building a nail on a palette, and i wanted to know if it was only from personal preference or is there some sort of thinking behind it? i've been building my gel nails on palettes and i've notice they tend to break on the sides, right on the walls on the "connection" line if you get what i mean. anyways!- is there a reason i should prefer using tips over building the extension?

I just got liquid gel nails. The Tech who did my nails did not buff the clear coat; she applied the liquid gel nail color over it, then the top coat. I've seen liquid gel nails done many ways. The nail tech used a liquid gel nail color (jar), as opposed to a liquid gel polish, like OPI. Is there any difference if you use a gel polish or the liquid gel color in a jar?

I love your work! I also have that gel nail with gel polish, but they're getting a little long for me and I don't need a fill yet. Can I file them down?

I know this probably isn't the best place to ask, but you seem like an amazing nail artist. I recently had a very bad experience with getting acrylics done, and to say the least, it left my nails cuticles and the skin of most of my fingers suffering. One of my nails have a red spot, and it's very painful, warm, and soft. Is this from the nail artist using her drill bit on my natural nail? She ran her drill bit on my natural nails, cuticles, and nearly to the first knuckle of my fingers. She even swiped the acrylic to the same knuckle and when I left I had to scrub at my hands and hope and pray I wouldn't have anything wrong. Do you have any tips for healing the nail that was damaged the worse from being drilled? I use cuticle oil numerous times a day along with moisturizing hand creams. I've kept a base coat and polish on my nails after having removed the acrylics (She refused to do the shape I wanted and did them half an inch thick.. I even measured to be sure so I removed them as soon as I got home. I gave her no chance to paint them) The nail with the spot is very painful, and almost as if I barely have any nail over the soft flesh underneath, and it's a bit hard to keep a straight face at work because of it getting bumped (I'm a cashier) I'll probably never get my acrylics done again, and it's sure to take me extra long to revive my nails after such a horrible job! Wish you could of been my artist ;-;

why are my gel overlay CND polished nails popping of after 2 days???

i know its weird but i want a job as either lawyer or nail tech, i can cook and bake pretty well, but i was like i want a job i will like and be able to do my nails i love doing my nails, and thanks to people like you on youtube i learned how to apply acrylic nails and designs (: a lady was teaching me but idk what happened she just all of a sudden told my mom i was no good and to slow and bassically i wasnt going to work, so i pretty much lost hope in becoming a nail tech, but after fiding you and learning more i was like why does she have to be the one teaching me? i dont need to listen to that lady i can do whatever i want, and your vids are so simple to follow so thanks! you really did change my life (: haha but still havnt decided what i want to do, i have also written books haha and can draw jn my opinion lol but idk but im still young,ish haha im 20 btw, anyways sorry for this rant, hope you read it, and love all your nails!

wow, i have never seen such damaged and soft natural nails. I also had soft nail but then i started with some "stronger nail". and since then my nails are always strong and it isnt a challengw anymore to grow nail like this one in the video.

Can I use a builder as base? If not, why?
