Great video! Out of curiosity what would happen if you applied gel on the tip without blending the tip? Also would it be possible to use a tip with nail glue ontop of a nail that has a small amount of hard gel in places as you can't soak every single bit of it. Thank you

Before you dipped your brush in the gel did have to dip your brush in alcohol or did you just go in with a dry brush? Sorry I’m new to this and am trying to learn lol

I haven't found a glue that I LOVE yet. I have a few on my list that I want to try, right now I just use the IBD brush on glue. You can get it your local beauty supply store. As far as the drill goes, I wouldn't recommend using one until you have had some training on how to.

@GelsNGemsNails
@GelsNGemsNails 7 лет назад
Elise Blixt, thank you for watching. I would cut your clients natural nail back before applying the tip. If that doesn't help then maybe sculpting with a form would be better. Hope this helps! Xoxo

Awe. I hate breaks like that. I wasn’t blessed with strong healthy nails either. They’re brittle, weak and peel. I still use my natural nails I just have to be careful and yes! I have breaks often. I did get lucky to be a tester for IMKNails BioBase which is a base that is infused with B7 and Coconut Oil and I swear that that has made my nails stronger and no peeling and they are growing like crazy. I used my Cindy Hand as a test because that one suffers more than my swatch hand. They were super short and in 10days they are past my tip of my finger. I do have a break on my index finger on my swatch hand. So I’ve had to add a tip like you’re doing which I don’t like, but I have no choice. One thing I do is take Acetone on a q-tip and rub over the lip of the tip and it kinda melts the tip edge over my nail where that line is and it’s smooth as butter. It works for me really well. Ive never done a gel overlay and wouldn’t even know where to begin and products to use (although I bet they’re listed in the description😂). Thanks for showing you’re way of fixing a nail and I hope your nail grows super fast!💕

It could be the product is applied too thin or it could be the product itself. Yiu jave to make sure you are using the right kind if gel for nails that are a little longer.
@AaronW-ww4ds
@AaronW-ww4ds 3 года назад
Product either doesn't have the strength in the right place , too thin , the product , not prepping properly or just your natural nails themselves as nail systems are not a one size fits all such as acrylic is best for those who have weak nails that are way too flexible and gel is great for those who have nails that have no flex to them

*Awesome tutorial, and thank you for sharing the technique! Just a quick thought... You spent the first 2.5 minutes of the vid explaining basically the exact same thing, over and over- what the vid was going to be about, and what steps you'd be taking. Rather than spending all that time repeating the same thing, it'd be great if you could just say it once, quick & concise, and then move on to the actual video content. It'd be greatly appreciated by those of us viewers that have limited bandwidth and have to wait for each minute of each video to load up. Thanks again!*

div m I don’t think that would classify as “infill” but as a removal and new application. You would simply file off the length and then do normal infill. After a few sessions, it would become a natural nail overlay. But it depends on your client though... if they always want tips then you would do as you said. This is my personal opinion and someone may have a different opinion.

Yep. This lasted till my natural nail grew back out. Just did fills and filled down the length every 2 or 3 weeks.

lol I know. I hate when I cut my real nails but it was a good teaching opportunity and had been requested. In the end it looked really good and i'm just gonna pretend its my real nail till it grows back out lol. Thanks so much for watching!

These Chinese people act like they have to drill your natural nail ! I tell them to only buff and they act like it’s a problem. “ oh it won’t last etc”

Helpful information but a seven minute intro is wayyy too long. You didn't show us how much gel you picked up from the container, curing time, and describe how you applied it. For a beginner that is very important.
