Great video man! So I could use one of these and some high frequency piezo tweeters to make an anti dark bark setup? What are your thoughts? Thanks again man!
You would need to connect the function generator to a power amplifier to get enough power to create a dog anti barking device. You would also need to adjust the peak to peak voltage to match the input sensitivity of your power amplifier. MOst power amps require 0.775 of 1.4 VAC to work properly. If you don't match the input sensitivity you will fry all your equipment. It's a bit more complicated than shown in this video. Here is a signal generator used for a dog anti barking device. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CdKaBQk0GSQ.html
Can you tell me how you connected the generator to the speaker?? I am trying to do this but am having a lot of trouble trying to switch the coaxial output to an audio format. At the moment nothing works. Does it matter if you are using mono/stereo equipment?
Naomi Omori The generator's output (the visible cable) is connected directly onto the speaker's 2 terminals. One speaker is mono only, so it does not matter. The signal generator has to have a decent power output. This generator can light up a small 3v incandescent light-bulb when the generator is set to around 20 volts (but low amperage). If your generator can't light up a small bulb (not LED) than probably the output power is too low. You could use an audio amplifier to generate more power at audio frequencies (50-16.000 Hz).
+Alex T It's the speaker of an old radio, no amplifier was used, the function generator outputs a fairly usable power to drive the speaker (older generator's output is lower). The speaker's 2 wires are connected directly to the output of the function generator.
+MultiScience2 WHERE CAN YOU GET ONE AND ARE YOU SENDING OUT ENERGY WHEN YOU DO PLAY A SOUND A TONE AND HOW MORE POWERFUL CAN YOU SEND THE SIGNAL OR MAKE A STRONGER FREQUENCEY WAVE?
+bodacias402 - you can buy a function generator on ebay, amazon etc. - if you connect a speaker to the generator than you are mostly emitting audio signals, if you connect an antenna in some way than you might emit radio waves (that is detectable/might be illegal) - you can also use an (audio) amplifier to increase the power of the signal
Cant connecting directly to a low impedance load,niev8 ohms overload your generator and do damage? I did the same to an 8ohm 1/4:speaker and am worried i might have done some damage.
You probably did do some damage. Get a pre-amp like a Siglent SPA1010. It has an internal circuit breaker and will protect your equipment. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CdKaBQk0GSQ.html
