In this video, I show how to export your 3D models from Agisoft Metashape Professional, import them into ArcGIS Pro, and then prepare them for upload to ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
Note: I use ArcGIS Pro 2.9 here. This is because the "import 3D tool" works well in this version.
See article below for an example of how this can work in archaeology workflows.

Hi I have a question please I’m new to this 3d apps, but for our work we need 3ds I’m working for solar energy on roofs, so for planing we need 3d. I taking pictures from drone and using Agisoft Metashape, it’s giving a good Good results and measurements. But the problem is taking a lot of time, Last days I used kiri engine, it’s really fast and It’s working on AI but the problem is don’t giving a good Good results and measurements. What can I do in situation?

Thank you for the video! It is really impressive. I tried to follow your guideline, but unfortunately ArcGIS hasn't loaded textures for the mesh. The model is monochrome. Do you know a possible solution for this problem?

What version of ArcGIS Pro do you have? 2.9 is the version that seems to work best for this.

@@alexelvisbadillo I use 3.0. And it adds meshes without textures. My solution is to upload tile models (slpk) as scenes to ArcGIS Pro, but I find it inappropriate because the building of tile models is and additional operation, which takes a lot of time.

After two weeks of fighting with ArcGIS Pro I've found out that it works out also with v. 2.8.6.

Hello, youre video is very interesting. i wanna ask you, can i agisoft calculate the volume from 3d images?
@alexelvisbadillo
@alexelvisbadillo Год назад
Agisoft can calculate volume. The 3D model must have scale and be fully closed to get this measurement. 'Close holes' under Tools and then Mesh can help with this.
@ramaprasetia1396
@ramaprasetia1396 Год назад
So this measurement can be done if the ortho process has been finished?
@alexelvisbadillo
@alexelvisbadillo Год назад
@@ramaprasetia1396 I'm not sure what your question is. It can be done once the mesh of your 3D model is rendered and scaled in Agisoft Metshape.

Thank you sir, its a great explanation. I very hope you can make the tutorial video about this issue

@@alexelvisbadillo so is it different if we use the polygon tools to calculate the selected area?

This method is flawed. You can't go from local coordinate system (made up) to another like the video shows. Just because you told the tool it has that coordinate system, doesn't make it true. You need to GPS some points to create ground control points (GCPs) to use in Metashape.

You are correct! I agree. This is flawed 😊 However, if I want to move the 3D model into a web scene using the ArcGIS scene viewer, I need to assign it that particular coordinate system. The web scene currently only supports that coordinate system (unless they've updated it). In our case, we are working in a local system, and we are okay having our models float at zero island. For us, this is acceptable for the kinds of use that we are planning. We do have a set of models that was referenced using RTK GPS. However, when moving the models referenced from Agisoft as .obj files to ArcGIS, there are some issues. The models do not articulate in space where they need to go. I think it has something to do with the way the software packages the reference information with the model. But when I create a tiled model and export as a scene layer package, it works just fine in terms of lining up with an ArcGIS Pro and then also online. So, if you plan to keep your models in real world space, I would recommend running a tile model and exporting as a scene layer package before moving into ArcGIS Pro and online. If you plan to use.obj files, there is a bit of a hiccup when it comes to moving those same models into the esri environment. If you find a solution, please let me know.
