You do not need a sponsor to go through the process, you will need one to activate the license prior to starting to originate loans. We have plenty of companies who are hiring and can an introduction once you have passed at no cost.
So based on what you’re saying, if I already have a Real Estate license and just wanted to also do the loan portion too for my clients, I just need to get the DRE licensing for it right?
Yes, you would need to provide an ABA disclosure upfront and there are a few other nuances but mostly, yes. There is a 20 hour class you must take of course to get the license and then you would need an employer sponsor.
