Step 1: Create a new account on Cloudflare
To get SSL from Cloudflare, go to clouflare.com
Enter your email and password to create a new account.
Step 2: Add your website to Cloudflare account
Just add your website to your new Cloudflare account,
choose the plan, and click ‘confirm’.
Step 3: Change your Name servers in domain
First. Go to your domain provider’s website and login to your account.
Just click ‘DNS’ and then go to name servers section.
Now click ‘change’. And select ‘custom’.
And you will find two empty boxes, where you can enter the name servers
Step 4: Install Cloudflare plugin on your WordPress website.
Search for ‘flexible SSL’ plugin and install
Step 5: Enable SSL in Cloudflare.
Go to Cloudflare website and click lock icon in the top menu. And turn on ‘Always use https’ section Now once you turn it on, your website will be secured with SSL.

The mistakes that I made was not replacing the nameservers properly on my godaddy account and setting the option in cloudfare to "fully strict" instead of "flexible".hope people can learn from my mistake. Worked it out. The 'Always Use HTTPS' was under Edge Certificates under the SSL/TSS lock tab not on the page it landed on when clicking the lock icon button. The 'Not secure' disappeared. It didn't display HTTPS but when I copied and pasted the url into a new tab, it showed HTTPS preceding my domain. Cool! Thanks.

Yes. landing page is updated. Must use as directed on the comment above. Also I spent a few minutes thinking why my url isn't secure and come to findout that I updated the nameservers of my other website. Had to re-adjust. But it worked in the end.

Pls check 4:43 if your SSL setting is flexible. My website started working after I changed it back to flexible. If secure is not coming after all these steps, try removing the pictures that are default in template. Sometimes those pictures are not secure links and hence it will show your site not secure. Didnt work for us either. In the WP editor, it comes as secured site but on the actual site, it is showing as not secure.

after you click on the lock make sure you are on the Edge Certificate tab to get to Always Https: make sure it is turned on, then refresh your website browser
