How to get a job in the UK from India is something everyone who wants to move to the UK asks themselves. Because if you want to move to the UK, the first step is for you to get a job in the UK, while applying for roles from India. You would need either a skilled worker visa or an Intra company visa to move to the UK.
To help with the process of getting a job in the UK from India faster, I break down the process of applying for a job in the UK, the role of the shortage occupation list and the list of sponsors and how you can work smartly to land a job in the UK.
In this video I talk about whether moving to the UK for a job is the best decision for you, the likelihood of you getting a job in the UK, how to get a job in the UK and how to stand out from the crowd while applying for a job in the UK.
I moved to the UK from India 5 months ago with my family and dogs and it’s been challenging to say the least. Since we moved to England, we’ve had our fair share of challenges. Some expected, some not.

If you are moving on an Intra company transfer visa, you do not need to pass the IELTS exam. But skilled visa applicants would still need to unless you are from a majority English speaking country or have done a bachelors, masters or PHD in the UK or if you've done your degree-level course in English and have confirmation from Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) that the qualification is comparable to a Batchelors or Masters degree or PhD in the UK (English proficiency service).

Hi Zakeer. Thank you for your kind words. A senior software role falls under the shortage occupation list which is great. It just means there is more demand for your role, hence getting a visa is a tad easier. You should immediately start applying for roles on LinkedIn, Reed, Indeed and Monster.

Hi Sindhura. Thank you so much! From what I applying for know civil engineering job from India requires a little more patience. While civil engineering is on the shortage occupation list, it's a little harder vs IT engineers. That being said, Reed, LinkedIn, Learn4good, ICE Recruit have jobs listed. Alternately, write "civil engineer jobs uk" in google and it will list jobs across multi portals. Be persistent. Wish you the best in your search.

It is true you can make a lot of money in the UK. However also note the costs. Your are not getting paid pounds and spending rupees! Also there are other factors to consider. Having said that, from what I know of India, you are much better off here than India.
