1. Know thyself - Who are you? - What are you good at? 2. Reflect on - Who do you want to be when you grow up? - Who do you want to be like? Who do you admire? - One is not enough, get multiple people to bounce ideas off of - Go to peers, do research about pay, ask for it. 3. Connect with courage - Make a target list of who you want to connect with - Learn about them and get an introduction - Make a connection and create a ritual - Have a song, dance, mantra, prayer, etc. To give you courage 20 minutes a week/ 3 weeks Who can help you with challenges? Run a marathon and advance in your career

Wow, pretty happy I came across this Tedx Talk; it has some great information in it. I agree that having a mentor is very important in today's society. Whether it's a someone far away or someone you know close to you, find those people to build your network.

I've had several mentors over the years and learned a large amount of valuable lessons from each and every one of them. From not making certain business decisions to fostering certain partnerships, a mentor can help guide you through your entrepreneurial journey.

Hi Dan, thank you again for sharing with us your experience. It’s something that is helping a lot of people, including me. I have a question as currently, I’m working for a big corporation as a consultant. I have decided it’s time to live the life that I was born for and help other people and their businesses. I’ve been passionate about IT since I was 14 (writing software in my head as the computers were too expensive) but on the way, other passions came along. The problem I’m facing is I’m very passionate about more than 1 thing, IT & Every-Angle-Life-Automation, motorcycles, water-sports and I love to train and couch people (mostly life, business and technology training and mentoring). I have started to use Trello board where I have listed 7 projects (from HIGH to LOW priority). 3 are in HIGH (would love to launch MVP at Spring) and I fell that I have to do it! Getting to the point! 1. I feel like doing 3 projects at the same time, outsourcing some of the IT work. All successful people are saying focus on 1 thing. What do you think? 2. Would you recommend finding an angel investor? I heard that “exit strategy” sooner or later will leave you some money but the investor will take your project away. True? If so a bit sad vision. Thank you, Dan, for your support. One day I will pay that off that to you and others by helping them to achieve their dreams faster and better.

Thank you so much, Ellen, for putting yourself out there despite the people that will always seek to put you down. I just read your profile on MMLafleur and appreciated your story. Off topic, but I love love love the ruffled jacket you were wearing in this Ted talk. Can you tell me what designer? I am an attorney and would love this look in my wardrobe.

Man, I loved this book. I really enjoyed it. Every Dostoevsky book is a moral theme masquerading as a fictional sketch. I'm glad you didn't like it. You're not feeding the echo chamber, but being genuine, I believe. One thing I'll say is, the book did seem bereft of good quotes.

Sounded great until she said she was earning $50 an hour so asked for $100 an hour and they said okay straight away. I burst out laughing! If only it really was that easy. You can ask for a pay increase and even if you deserve it's highly unlikely you 'll get anything let alone double!!!

+Laura Woodward That's why you should always be aggressive in the position you have so you can be noticed or have the potential at moving up. Every time I have taken a new job I was able to get a 40% higher salary based off the last jobs experience.

Nah it's true that you need to ask for more money from your clients. Notice this is your clients not your boss, it's not the same likely hood. But you shouldn't be afraid to ask your boss for a raise either if you feel you are worth it.
