How to get a Mortician-like guitar tone

Mortician used a Crate amp for the early recordings and Roger didnt used any cabs for the studio, from 1991 with the Mortal Massacre demo to Darkest Day of Horror he used the same method for the cabinet, not sure if for Darkest Day of Horror he used the same guitar head, but the "cabinet" part is as i explain in the first part of the video.
Really odd technique i must say, but other bands did the same like Agoraphobic Nosebleed with Honky Reduction.
For Re-Animated Dead Flesh Roger used a Line 6 amp, quite probably a Line 6 Spider or something like that, he also used a Line 6 Flextone as i saw in a live recording so he must have used something Line 6 related for sure in that record.

Ive never seen this lunatic amp. It must be in the metal pack ? I have pod farm platinum its not in there.

Hey bro, you need the metal pack thats right, im using POD Farm 2.5 with all the packs included so that is maybe why.

@@Massobliteration The lunatic without the screamer sounds perfect. Its a unique tone. Something completely missing in "modern" metal. Ill just eq match it for now and it should be close enough. Thanks dude. edit oh shit i DO have it. I havent fucked with podfarm in a long time. Cool! i fucking have it. Good luck on your project. Im a fan.

Yeah i think the same as you, without the screamer sounds good, the screamer just adds more unwanted mids, it may sound more "clean" but we dont want that in this genre. I also agree, modern metal is plagarized with that setup everyone uses "screamer + peavey 5150 + mesa cab" I actually used the screamer in all my records though but heavily scooping mids haha. And awesome you found it, there is a lot of good amps in there that sound dirty and better than most emulations out there. If you also like Last Days of Humanity tone you can get it by using Line 6 Helix´s Elektrik amp, its dirty as hell lol.

@@user-2Hteyasizyc Oh and yeah EQ match is a good option to use, even though i feel it as "cheating" a bit, its good for a quick good tone, i have used it for non-serious records haha

@@Massobliteration I found it and am im playing it now. Its really thick and clean sounding. Fun to play with ! I think my interface is a piece of shit though because its got too much gain with the HI Z button engaged. It was clipping even in green (on the interface) but i never knew until i looked in reaper and it was hitting past 0? in pure red. What a piece of shit ! and its new ! SO it was clipping internally and i never knew till i checked reaper. My tone was always thin as shit. Now i know why. its a mackie artist interface. Fuck ive been clipping di's all this time not even knowing. Also this interface sounds nothing like your tone. I used 2 eq's and the tone isnt the same with the same settings. Sure we have different guitars but i had to drastically eq the tone after also figuring out its clipping. Id say its faulty yeah?
