I just took my twist out a couple of hours ago and WOW. It came out amazing. I washed my hair yesterday morning and did my twists that night. Makes a huge difference twisting on damp verses wet hair.
Thanks @trophdoph. I tried this approach and loved it. For others who may want to try this... here are some learnings: 1) Despite applying leave-in and oil the next day, my hair shed like crazy because it was completely dry :-( So, the next time I try this method, it'll be an hour or so after washing my hair (my hair won't be 100% dry) vs. waiting until the next day. 2) After washing my hair, applying leave-in and oil, I put it into 6 twists. Annoying, my hair was a tad crinkly the next day. Learning - since my hair is medium length, I don't need 6 twists (I think 4 will be enough) FYI -- My hair is 4C all the way, and I used camille's rose almond twisting butter. I only used enough to make each section sticky. So, not a lot at all. Overall, the finished result was less shrunken up than any other twist out I've ever done.
I loved your video. Thank you so much for taking out time to cover important details. I have recently started doing my own hair which has been very painful. I have watched a lot of videos and have seen at least a million dollars worth of products...lol My biggest 3 take aways were 1) Section the hair in big twist first to dry. 2) Separate the hair in one inch sections and then 2 strand twist each section. 3) Do not put on the bonnet right away...and when it is time to place the twist in the bonnet be careful on placement so they hang correctly.
Yes I'm loving this look. I cant wait to try they products. I want to wear more of my natural hair and less wigs . I'm just excited to embrace my curls more.
omg thank you for the tip about waiting to do the twists on next day hair. i did some twists on wet hair in the back just to see what it would look like and the next day they were dangling just under my ear lol.
Thank you so much for this video! Your tips of doing the twists on next day hair and undoing them from the top have changed my twist outs COMPLETELY! Thank you!

Yessss sis! I never thought to style it the day after washing. I usually just style right after washing. I wonder why it makes that much of a difference? Because your curls are definitely pretty and defined!
I went looking for this video because on Facebook this video is made to believe this is a wig. I wasn’t buying any wig until I seen the actual person say it’s a wig. Low and behold it ya hair. Smh! Exactly why I don’t buy anything off Facebook ! Beautiful video by the way. Lol.
I shouldn’t have watched this video. You got me all the way sold on these products and I’m on a dang protective styling challenge!!! Love your results.
wow... your hair is beautiful! I attempted my first twist out yesterday and I didn't yield the results I was hoping for but I'm not giving up. I know its a learning curve and I just need patience... thanks again for posting.
I had been having thebsamenprobkem with my twist flattening and shrinking up using this they were juicy and all streched... I sat under the hooded dryer to dry my scalp and they came out PREFECT.🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 Thank you for the tips...
Girl this video deserves more views and likes! Seriously and truthfully the best twist out routine with promising results!whatvid your night time routine for maintaining twist outs?
Your hair looks AMAZING! I too style my hair the day after wash day, because my 1st day hair always turns out better! I just recently purchased the Pumpkin Mint DC and the Twisted Definition from Curls Dynasty. So far, I’ve used the twisting cream for a chunky twist out on week old (1 week post wash day - I wash my hair monthly) hair and my twist out was also POPPIN’!!! Going to try it with smaller twists in the near future to see if I can achieve this more defined, fluffy twist out. BTW, iLive for a deep, side part twist out...LIFE!!! Thanks for the vid!✌🏾&❤️
I love how you just use 1 product for this look (minus the gel?). I'm a simple girl and don't need a billion products for one look. And I love your tips. Your hair looks amazing!
Hey @trophdoph! Awesome Job Hun 😁, two questions?? Where did you get that neon green comb/brush combo from? And what they of lip gloss are you wearing b/c hunty! It's poppin
This is an amazing twist out!! Mine looks like this 1/4 of the time, so I’m excited to get it to look like this EVERY TIME I do a twist out! 😊 How do you maintain your twist out ??
the perfect twist out, whether it's a 2-strand or 3-strand twist out, takes time and effort to achieve AMAZING results. So glad to see a well-done twist out. I get my inspiration from videos like this and can finally say I've mastered the perfect twist out for my own 4-c, low porosity, thick hair. I make my own DIY products as well to achieve the perfect balance between nourishment and optimum hold for my hair. I've documented my own version of the perfect twist-out on my RU-vid channel and am glad to see others achieve beautiful results as well!
Your hair looks amazing. Enjoyed this product review. I've been thinking about purchasing these products because I've seen so many great reviews. Where did you purchase your green detangler from?
Hi. Your hair is beautiful. Is your hair colored and cut into a shape or does it just grow out into that shape? Because the shape and color looks lovely
