it hurts how he shows u how eazy it technicly is and makes u feel like shit cuz u like it, kida like a grown man still reading childbooks, but then u hear the final thing and fall in love with it
@@krhisnamerckovalles8337 you said you couldnt breathe. that sounds kinda serious man. but I guess since that was 10 months ago and ur writing now the ambulance already came
That's because you've been fed this shit for years and despite having the awareness that it's 99% repetitve crap you still somehow enjoy it. You make me sick.
Brett Domino at it again with reminding us how terrible pop music is, then following it up by absolutely mastering the production of pop song. Every video he does like this is a paradox that messes with my head, which I'm sure is his intention. It works, because now I want to buy the song. Well played, Brett.
@@kirahviofficial5761 Just because something has simple elements, does not mean it's garbage. It actually takes a lot of skill and talent to make something so simple, so effective. A lot of effort goes into making something like a pop song sound so effortless.
@@mitchclarke19 Lyrics are made by a marketing team. “A lot of skill and talent to make something so simple, so effective.” Have you listened to Yummy? It was like the #2 pop song on some chart for a while. Are you really going to tell me *that thing* takes talent and skill to make?
@@confusedasian2212 It does. There is a lot more to a song than just it's lyrics. It's melody, harmony, structure, the whole beast of production, whilst maintaining coherence and avoiding overcomplication. A lot goes into it and a lot can be appreciated. And just because something is written by a team as opposed to a single person doesn't make it somehow less in quality. If the exact same song was written by one person as it was a team of people, there is no difference in quality, the only thing it means is that a lot of people helped in crafting what becomes the end product. Look, I'm not saying that every pop song made is great, that has never been true, every era of music has had multitudes of music written that is not great. But the point I'm trying to make is, despite the presence of less than great pop music (which has been true across all genres and throughout all history), there is still great, amazing pop music that (while sometimes appearing simple) takes a lot of time, effort, skill and craftsmanship to create and a lot of care goes into making it the way it is.
@@confusedasian2212 yummy went #2 entirely bc it was a bieber song and it was hyped to all hell by his fans, it barely stuck around at all because the general public didn't want it at all
this is actually just like a pop song.. this could actually be in the top charts if it was created by like martin garrix or someone elso who is famous! nice song!
In my opinion, this song has a lot of good points, most of which is it being ironically good. Pop music isn't always "bad" because music taste is subjective and changes from person to person.
man, you don't really notice how much music changes over time, but now looking back, this feels extremely dated and it's only been 3 years. Brett does a great job of capturing the music of the time and it just makes me realize how much the public eye/ear has shifted in recent years
The super imposed finger right at the beginning!! Can't tell if it's deliberate or whether the video was supposed to be a three minute guide and ran over - you never know with these guys xD
That's crazy. Me and my songwriting teacher at Uni try to analyse something in the charts each week and have learned lots from it. Also that bass sound was really good.
Well spotted. I think it was supposed to be a 3 minute guide because his lips say "three" at the exact moment his voice says "four". So he's obviously had to copy and paste one of his fingers on to the end of his hand.
Really developed as a writer and producer. There's a sheen to this song that some of your other pop music attempts don't have, and I genuinely can see this breaking the charts.
I can't imagine these videos where you explain what you're going to do and then show us the finished result are easy but they are absolutely fantastic! The first half was really funny and then the song turned out like something I can totally imagine hearing in the charts (if they're still relevant any more).
I would totally switch stations the second I heard this on the radio, only to begrudgingly listen to it in full later, then somehow develop fond memories of it a decade later after seeing it show up in a meme. In other words, you nailed it xD
I basically never leave any comments on RU-vid but Brett Domino deserves a comment or three! You are without doubt one of the most talented and underated musician on the internet, and you remind a lot of a comedy/music duo we have in Norway called "Jacob & Fridtjof" (known for "Hit for Hit" and "Kollektivet") You have a new subscriber now 😁
Please give us a tutorial on the real challenge: getting your potentially top 10 pop song exposed. What is the mystery behind nobody artists becoming top 10 all of the sudden?
Caleb Kim money and a team. The rule I tell bands is "for every hour you put into the studio, spend an hour promoting your music". Send it to everyone, radio, labels, promoters, anyone who could possibly care. As long as people like it you'll et there eventually.
I'm sorry Brett. You won't be in the charts this time. It took 4 minutes to make this ? I'm sorry, but we can't allow that much effort in our charts. Come back when you can kick over your keyboard and create a song like most of our top chart hitters.
