From a "make controller and mouse play nice together" perspective, this is kind of neat and interesting. But as a mouse player, I want as little assist from the game as possible. I absolutely hated when the beta flights first came out, and there was that option for MnK to slow down your sensitivity when aiming towards a player. What you showed is definitely the lesser of two evils, but it still be evil. My un-realistic wish is that they split PC and Xbox and made PC version have much smaller or no aim assist on controllers. And have HCS be PC only. Boom, casual players can have their fun on each platform, and competitive can have a wider skill gap between players (and be way more fun to watch).
That would be cool if they could figure something out. This is such a complex issue with no easy or clear answer. The only winners are people who either are already controller players or switched to controller even if they didn't want to. Believe it or not, I'm on PC and PC version has less aim assist than console. If I were on console the drag you saw would have been even stronger. This is according to the pros who play on both xbox and PC. As for competitive play I think completely removing aim assist/bullet mag on KBM would be great. Get rid of it completely. This would affect Ranked and tourneys like you said. Then for controller, perhaps removing all bullet mag and reducing rotation aim assist by 20% - 40% would be cool. Pro players are insanely good and it would be awesome watch HCS in this way I think
the only reason is this current generation was given so much rotational AA to be able to compete and play its just ridiculous at this point. This has only happened in the last 5 years . Its never been better ever. MS even cancelled their program in 2013 after putting the two head to head and stated they would need to compromise M and K so much to enable controller to compete it wouldn't be fair. I'm so over people thinking they have aiming skill in any FPS/BR in TODAYS games when the "rotational" aa is anywhere from 40-70% depending on game. Let that sink in . Mix in strike packs, cronus, configs on steam , engine owning , xim and the list goes on. Its sad where the state of "competitive gaming" has gone. Coding in games and Rot. AA is the only way they can ever compete and its sad. In halo, the engine doesn't enable a m and k to use its flexibility in movement at all so its down to AIMING. Even snip3down has said this. Sorry for the book just tired of hearing controller superior and it never has been unless given large amounts of the most important skill in an FPS, " TRACKING" . ( i picked up a controller and tried it in Apex. What a joke. Didnt need to do any movement at all , just aim , turn like a tank turret and let the software to the rest) smh The fact is M and K gets a small amount of AA. That says it all. Shouldn't the supposed " superior" input get LESS AA and the less superior input get more? Why they not giving more AA to M and K then going by their logic ? ( i agree with what you are saying but arm , wrist and being able to put all that together with skill is exactly that, skill while not being assisted.)
As satisfying as it is watching the game crash and burn for not accepting the reality that FPS players just aren't interested in an FPS where controllers are in baby mode, I would still rather just see them accept this reality and stop forcing the aim assist to be ridiculous. Halo would have a chance to be one of the top FPS games instead of sitting at the kid's table with Fortnite and COD.
Im buying a program that tricks the game into thinking im on controller so i get controller aim assist on mnk, if they dont wanna make the game fair for mnk ill be an absolute menace in onyx then
tbh it just sounds like your bad with m&k and dont like being killed by a possible controller player that has a pretty fair aim assist compared to most comp games.
I've played a substantial amount of time on both and haven't noticed any real difference. I've heard the microsoft store version has less input latency but that's not true in my case. There's a guy by the name of XLR8 who recently made a video if you are struggling with input latency. Go check him out
Great vid but I don't understand how can you hold down left click if you have to tap to shoot and this feels like it's so minimal it doesn't even make a difference but that's just me
2:21 you can kind of tell I held down MB1 during the burst. Kind of. It is a small amount and I'm struggling with trying to figure out how to incorporate it as well. This is news to me too and it will take a lot of game time to try and implement this. I'll continue to work on this and report back with a video. My gut instinct tells me doing this while scoped in at long range could be most helpful. I should have done more tests at different ranges. Darn it
How do I enable aim assist for controller on PC? I stopped playing the game a while back because I thought it was removed completely when infinite released.
Hey, glad to have you back in the game. Aim assist is fully functional for controller on PC. Some people get less aim assist if they have a mouse that is plugged in and the sensor in the mouse is picking up movement. Unplug the mouse. That aside, be sure to aim with the left stick more and you'll do great. The left stick aim assist is much stronger than right stick aim assist in Halo Infinite.
Hi there! Is there a way to turn it off? I just started playing Halo again. I used to play on controller but switched to Cod and with it to M&K about 8 months ago, but with the shitshow that cod is atm, I just came back to halo and it feels unfair to be getting these many kills compared to the other guys. So, I'm not sure if it's me or the aim-assist and I want it to be me, so I'd like to turn it off if possible. Thanks
I would encourage you to upload gameplay. If you've been on mouse 8 months and you're already that good, you're likely a prodigy. Unfortunately, no. There is no way to turn it off
@@HaloDaycare haha, thanks but not a prodigy at all. I've been practicing a lot with Cod which feel harder to be competitive on M&K. I really think it is the aim-assist coupled with casual players cause just play like 5 games last night. I'm yet to be ranked. I've seen your game plays, the movement, the aim, and the knowledge of the maps are great. I'm no where close to that.
@@jce3086 Speaking of cod, I actually just uploaded a video on it. And yes, cod aim assist goes burr but so does Halo. Both games are not too kind to mouse and key players
