Note: When freezing a regular horse you wanna tame, don't use a really strong bow for freezing or you'll kill the thing.

Fun fact! There are actually ‘metallic’ horses irl. They’re called Akhal Teke horses, it’s a breed, and the shaft of their hair is translucent, which results in the horse being so shiny it does look like metal or crystal. If you’ve seen the copypost of the ‘world’s most beautiful horse’ with a cream-coloured supermodel-looking horse, he’s a Teke. Zelda’s golden horse looks a lot like one.

it would be a lot cooler if he was not so yellow and more of a palomino, which is usually as “gold” as those horses get besides their metalic coat. it’d also be nice to see some variety in the horse’s shape instead of them all being super draft like. the akhal teke looks like a greyhound irl, super elegant!

I wish the Giant White Stallion had its own unique saddle. The red and brown giant horse saddle with the gerudo gems is so clearly decorated to look like Ganondorf's aesthetic, it looks a little out of place on the white horse.

I personally wish that we could at least change their manes. It makes sense that the horses can't physically fit any other kind of gear, but not letting us change the mane at least seems a bit silly. (Same goes for Epona, who also is small enough for other gear to boot!)

@@16Nire61 yeah, Epona especially, it's the same damn model, it's not like it's extra work for them. At least they put an almost Epona-coloured horse in the wild variants, so you can just get one of those, might have better stats too.

I think the hurdle with Epona is,how would you recover her unique gear if they let you change it without also letting you put it on other horses? I think it's a problem they could have solved, but it seems they chose not to. Maybe wasn't worth the time and money to pay someone to program that in.

I was paragliding down to find the glyph and did a triple take! I said, out loud, "They really upped the horse aesthetics, that horse looks straight up GOLDEN. Wait.. IT IS GOLDEN. WHAT?!" And Yoinked it before I even hit the ground. 😂 Mind you I was playing this by myself 😂

When you get Spot, you unlock his color pattern onto other horses. If you stay in Hyrule Field, and reload your game after coming across a herd, you can find different colors of the pattern on other horses! There’s a pink one, brown one, blue one, ETC. all beige with spots like Spot. (cannot find a purple spotted horse so i think the colors are limited unfortunately)!!

So they will be white with different coloured spots? Like white with blue spots, white with brown spots? Or will they be blue with the same dark grey spots / pink with dark grey spots etc? I expect the former but just checking!

I didn't realize horses imported, I spawned in an Epona before I first visited the stables. Now I have two Epona... very unique.

I did the same and now have 2 Eponas but I will let one go. You can let a horse go by registering a new one once your slots are full. They give you the option to choose which horse to let go back into the wild.

You can just keep spawning Epona in and registering it. You can fill the stable with Eponas.

Just because it wasn’t mentioned in Video, if you go to Malanya in tears of the Kingdom (north east), not only can they revive dead horses, but they can boost the stats in exchange for meals. Can’t adjust horses like Epona, but you can make Zelda’s white horse, 5’s across the board easily.

Blue had the worse? I not the solid coloured. In botw I found one that was high on every stat and it surprised me. I’m glad she carried over to totk.

I was so caught off-guard when i realized that BoTW horses got carried over to ToTK. That actually made my day. I also ran into golden horse while exploring and since it looked unique, I tamed it and went to nearest stable asap which happened to be the quest location. The NPC's reaction was so good when they mentioned a missing horse and realize i'm literally mounting it right before their eyes lmao.

I still don't understand why they didn't just put Epona in this game as a secret horse you could find or acquire somehow. I get you could use an amiibo to get one in breath of the wild, but they made most of the amiibo Awards findable in the game itself, so I'm not sure why they didn't think to just allow us to go through a series of quests to obtain Links original horse

I love Spot, he’s got a pattern like a leopard-patterned Appaloosa. That’s my favorite ever horse pattern, so I’ll be spending a lot of time enhancing Spot. Also? He looks really cool in the Extravagant Equipment. As for the golden horse? I expected a Palomino. NOT metallic gold lol.

@@mikasasilverknife63 Gonna go look! Edit: Yep! I went looking and there are horses on North Hyrule Plain, south of the northern North Hyrule Plain Cave entrance, that can have a spotted appearance. They aren’t as pretty as Spot, with his nice dark spots, but the blue roan and strawberry roan look nice that way too!

I like to think that the Golden Horse is actually the Royal White Stallion from the previous game, but he turned golden likely as a result of his fur somehow responding to the Upheaval.

@@KainaX122 I believe it’s stated Zelda found the Golden horse some time prior to Totk, and considering link found the white Stallion I wouldn’t think they’re the same, that and well the white stallion is still in game in a separate location as stated in the video if you never found it in botw or don’t have that game.

My favorite horse will always be Malice. An all black horse I found with stats comparable to zeldas botw horse, and caught randomly in the wild. I put the knights kit on him to make him the "Black Knight's horse", and will, from here on, be the only one I use for the most part

3:04 I'VE ONLY TRIED THIS WITH THE ROYAL STALLION BUT I ASSUME IT WORKS FOR ALL SPECIAL HORSES MINUS EPONA, but if you release a natural special horse, you can find it again in the wild. This allows you to rename special horses and get the horse in its new position if you got it in BOTW

@@kaitlinelizlee i finally tried (had to fill up all my horse slots so i could actually get rid of it so it took me a bit lol) and very much saved before I released mine, but i did it and then went to that spot in Akkala and ! There it was !! Brand new white horse (camera treated it as such, the same as my prev one) and i caught it and registered it with its new name, and it all worked perfectly. Has the same stats and everything :))) it DOES go to the bottom of your horse ‘list’ being newest, but 🤷‍♀️ worth it

I love spot so much. He doesn’t have great base stats, but he’s the coolest looking horse I have imo. Great use of the new upgrade feature! I wish the non-one colour horses could come with better base stats tbh, they’re the ones I usually prefer the colouration of the most. For sure gonna be using the hell out of the horse gods powers

I named the golden horse Karat, as a reference to gold, and because horses love carrots. The large white stallion I named Malanya, mainly because it was where the horse god originally was, and because it’s like a tribute.

I do wish there wasn't a limit and that there were a few more color options( there are a bit more experimentations in this game at least ), but I still love riding horses. I called BOTW my horse riding simulator, cause it was my favorite thing. LOL.

For those wanting to quick tame horses so that they actually listen to you on the way back to the stable... Apples are your friend. Drop 5 at a time and your bond will rocket to 100 very quick.

Actually you can release the ones from breath of the wild and catch the old horses again. with full stable bring a new horse, then release the old one, cancel the register and get the special horse you want! (I didn't like the names of my horse from botw an re caught the ganon one) (really wish for a rename horse feature >

I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the Golden Horse's stats, she's beautiful and all but two of my horses carried over from BotW had better stats than her which was surprising. It's still worth it to keep around for the flex tho Edit: Does anyone know if there's another spot like there was in BotW where the best horses spawn?

I have 2 Eponas. The botw horses all transferred over which I was excited for. And right before I actually checked in at any stable and received my botw Epona I scanned my amibo thing and now I have 2. It’s great!

Hi Austin ! Thanks for the tips regarding the horse ^^ I would like to clarify that with TOTK, we can have Epona multiple time : I have the Smash Bros Link amiibo and he as poppep up Epona 3 times. I don't know if it's a bug or what but personnaly, I have two Epona register at the stables 😂

I just found a horse that has the same robe/ pattern that Spot has but in blue! I already caught Spot thanks to your video but I found that one near Rauru's geoglyph symbol near a stable west central Hyrule. If anyone is instrested to have one with blue spots instead of dark ones maybe you can find it here! Perhaps it also means there's more colors of spotted horses than black and blue, maybe brown and pink as well. Edit: I just found one with pink spots as well it's the cutest. Edit 2: found one with brown dots as well.

I had Breath of the Wild on the Wii U so no transfer for me. Nice to know that you can still get the unique horses. I do have 4 eponas though as I have 4 different amiibos that gave it to me.

5:38 I've done 3 out of the 4 regional quests and it hadn't updated the stabled until I talked to the guard in the middle of the area. So if it's not at the point of you repairing the stable, try talking to the guard first.

Honestly, I had all of the unique horses in BOTW, but I had that game for the Wii U... So it sadly didn't carry over. I'm so glad that the White Horse and Giant Horse are still there to catch! I had already given up on finding them again, so it's a relief that I can just re-register them: I definitely have enough stamina for it, as I just wanted the 2 wheels necessary to get the Master Sword. That plus a few stamina-healing meals is usually enough for me to catch any horse in the game.

I've been looking for info on how to get the other 2 horses from BotW on TotK, but always got the "import from game" and I'm like dude... I can't, I had the WiiU version, so felt a bit lost. Spot is a “leopard” Appaloosa which is one of my favorite color patterns irl. The other horses in game that also have spots but only on their rear are also Appaloosas, just a different pattern.

same. one of my fav horses. palominos are also a fav of mine. i wish there were more different horses in the game honestly especially ones with different rigs/skeletons like tekes or clydesdales (though i guess you could argue the large horses are clydesdales. they just dont have any other characteristics of clydesdales besides height lol)

I assume after completing the "spot" quest that triggers spotted horses to spawn in the wild? I never saw one until getting "Spot" but then I found them in multiple colors and locations

Thank you! Thought my horses would import but I had started a new game on normal mode so i only had the special horses i wanted on my hard mode save which did not send over
