I'm not usually in tune with current Pokemon stuff but even I can see this guy is going all out and please know we appreciate it but just take care not to overstress yourself 😁
Pokemon added such a cool auction feature, even if it may not be much to some people. It's fun, and you also get rare items in it. I like it so much, that I do hope they add it in future games, and not dispose of it like other features I loved.
You’re videos like these have been immensely helpful. Every google search for something as simple as “where’s the moon stone” gets articles with three pages explaining what Pokémon are before the info.
I hate that! But I understand why the writers need to do that, it's so they get more ad money from views on the website bc writers online don't make anything so they need to pad out articles as much as possible. Just use serebii though.
I sleep like 5-6 hours a night and maybe a collective 30-40 minutes eating and bathroom breaks. the rest is gaming, google sheets programming, recording, editing, replying to comments/my community posts, and posting :)
To change outbreaks, tera raids, and even the random auction items (3 of the 4 vendors), you can put down an initial save (if you want), but simply open up your map/pokedex/profile with "Y", hit the Home button on your controller, then move the day forward in the Settings, and so on. When you re-enter your active game, it should quickly alert you to the new outbreaks and tera raids (the auction items will have changed as well).
@@AttacMage May have been an issue in Sword/Shield (though it never screwed up my raid dens during my playthrough of Shield), but so far for S/V, it hasn't been an issue.
I don't mean this in a bad way but the music going on in the background of these cracks me up. The stark contrast between the cool beats and talking about pokemon while also being informative is great. (I also like how you break character when you find an accidental shiny mid video, it's great) Your vids have saved my bacon numerous times (especially the wisp locations in Arceus) dude, just thought I'd say thanks and keep it up.
On your “dawn stone hill” I ended up getting three stones in one pass. All desert-like regions have been killing it (in the good way) for me! Guys. Check the yellow orb spots. They are wonderful!
Got Major Pokerap vibes when you were naming all the evolution items you can get haha. Thanks for the video Austin and all the others you put out for us!
Actually for resetting the market, after altering the date once and loading into the game you don't have to save and then repeat it again. As long as you don't save it again you can just exit the game and load it back up. You'll only have to reset the date again after you save it after you acquire what you are after!
I actually never had to change the date for the items to rotate. All I had to do was close and reopen the game and the items changed, unfortunately because there was a gold bottle cap. The first reset I did actually didn’t change the items either
I really hope the add the Red and Blue Orbs for Groudon and Kyogre (with them added in what ever expansion) so we can have their primal forms back since Primal Reversion isn't intrinsically tied to Mega Evolution.
Hey, I haven't really seen this mentioned, but if you open your Pokedex and hit x to bring up the trophy menu, by filling up your Pokedex to certain volumes it rewards you with some of the evolution stones.
I’ve been watching Austin since sun and moon which were my first ever Pokémon games, and his guides have been helping me ever since. Thanks for everything you do! Keep up the great work!
There is a location for the cracked pot where you can find it on the ground in a pokeball, its near a tree by the shrine in the scarrat trail, also a bunch of other items can be found if you just check serebii
For the Auction House Soft Resetting, i figured out that if you save the game, close the game, set your switch date forward then relaunch the items will change. After that, you can just soft reset and get new items without having to keep pushing the date forward
@@AustinJohnPlays it also works (at least testing for me) if you set the time back a minute, this also works with the raids/ and outbreaks. Don't even have to close the game, just open settings, set time back one minute, go back in, and everything will chance, with the auction house you have to leave their chat bubble range and come back, but it also changes that :)
They need to implement the shiny twinkle when a shiny Pokemon spawns. I almost went straight past a shiny Rolycoly. With the sun shining on them they all look shiny. I can imagine the same issue with Gible, Glaceon, Leafeon, just to name a few.
If you didnt know, you can do the time skip once (the usual way of save, close game, move time forward, re-enter game) and then if you dont like what the auctions are just quit the game and instead of skipping time again just go back in the game and it still refreshes i dont know if it works with mass outbreaks or tera raids but its safe to assume it does Just a heads up for some who didnt know!
For the auction cycling I’ve found that if you just save and change the date once you can just keep resetting your game to keep getting new items.. saves some steps.
Austin I’m genuinely thankful but also concerned… you continually put out Poke content like crazy that I just hope you are truly enjoying the game yourself! How have you gotten along given the performance ridiculousness?
I am in the mantality of... they're going to update/fix the game but regardless even if they don't, there are people are are going to play the game, and there are people who are going to need this information. so my job is to provide that information with my personal feelings aside. My personal feelings: other than the performance issues, love the game. Re: the performance issues: they either need a better timeline to work on games more or they was given a dev kit of a better switch model that got pushed back.
Does anyone know if you can view the pictures you take with Gym Leaders/Team Star Leaders after you beat them? I didn't screenshot and want to go back and look at it.
It'd be nice if you could make videos on every flying location in the game, every sandwich recipe and how to obtain them, and every TM recipe. Thanks for the great videos this month!
I got my copy of Scarlet yesterday and I already have one gym badge and I'm onto my second gym badge. These videos will help me out as I started playing the Pokemon games with the 3DS.
Once you see the credits, Area Zero becomes a REALLY good place to farm shiny and dusk stones along with quite a few berries. Also, some of ground shinies in the mines north of Iono's town seem to have a chance of being fire or electric stones.
This guy Etan has a video going through all the data in spreadsheets about the auctions! He found out that the younger NPCs have significantly lower max bids according to data that was released! The vid only has 2k views but is super helpful! Would totally recommend! He also has info on which items to bid on (like the premier balls) and which ones never to bid on (like the bottle caps and razor claw). Hope you see this Austin, because it would be great to get that info out to the rest of the people!
Once you find a new item in the wild, you can then buy it at the shops. This is the same for stones and mints, and other battle items. You don't need to find it again
Austin, you can change the date of your switch when in poke portal menu to reset dens and outbreaks with switching days forward, SAVES A LOT OF TIME from just saving and reloading
Tbh you should compile all your information write a comprehensive strategy guide, and sell it on Amazon. Doesn't seem like the pokemon company will be releasing an official guide anytime soon. They didn't do it for PLA, the Sw/Sh dlc, or BDSP. You might as well Capitilize on a open market, the guides that Amazon currently has suck bricks.
I was thinking this! With all the info he has from before release and all the trial and error and data gathering he and his friends do… all he’d have to do it commission some really great artists for some Pokémon fan art ( I don’t know how that’d work with copyright but I’m just putting the idea out there) and he could have an incredible guide book. I LOVE buying guide books for my favorite games, whether I use them for reference or read through them or just collect them. I was so sad they didn’t do PLA but thought it was because it wasn’t a mainline game. The official ones are pretty lame anyway I think all the info and data he gets could make an incredible guide book.
@@SwedePotato314 well if he commissions fan art he owns it since he bought it. He could always post who did the fan art in the credits of the book anyway. Tbh the official guides I love getting cause I just like being thorough in the game and I really dont want to miss anything. I'm just upset Nintendo has stopped making these.
Just learned that auctions reset after a few minutes if you don’t want to mess with your Switch date/time. Just enter the auctions you don’t want and withdraw to get someone else to buy. Then leave and take a lap around the desert picking up shiny spots and they should be ready to sell again when you come back.
I started watching you few days before violet release and you've been helping me alot uptil now ty very much for all of your hard work it is appreciated
not sure if anyone has said anything about this but you only need to change the clock once and just keep resetting until you get what you need from the auctions and you will only need to change the clock again if you bid/win a auction
Hey Austin! A nice tip for the alternate Tauros forms is to use the encounter power: fire/water. My wife and I spent hours running around Tauros herds with no luck, then I remembered sammiches and my next 3 herds had a water in Violet and my wife found a fire right away in Scarlet. And they do produce the same form from eggs!
The auctions get new items every time you restart your game. No need to change the time/date or re-save you game. Just hard-save and then loop look->restart.
So, I literally just learned, if in your pokedex, on the menu where you can scroll back and forth to look at the individual entries. On the lower left hand corner there is a picture of a trophy and an X next to it. If you press X it gives you rewards based on how filled in your pokedex is. Which includes a bunch of evolution stones. Easy early way to get a fire stone
Hi Austin I just want to share to you how I caught my Antique Form of Sinistea. I don't want credit for this, I just want to share this to you so that you can make something out of it and also help others. You have been a big help so far to my Pokemon Adventures. I may not be your richest fan but I always like your video😁. Location: Alfornada(around the town or mear the ruins) You need a Great Ball and a pokemon with sleep status move like Breloom or Gallade. False swipe will not work because it is a ghost type. How to check if Sinistea is an Antique form: 1. Do not zoom camera 2. Do not ride your mount 3. Check the pokedex on what the marking looks like. You can see the photo in one of the Sinistea at the far end which has the markings at the bottom of the cup. 4. Go near the Sinistea with safe distance not to battle it. 5. Rotate the camera and check the bottom for the markings 6. Be careful of the aggressive pokemon nearby 7. The Sinistea with markings will run away from you after you checked it therefore you need to make haste in battling it. I think that's it.😁 I hunted it for 3 hours and I was about to lose hope then suddenly a Shiny Hypno pops out🤣
I’m very disappointed at the final forms of the starters but I remembered asking you the other day if you could cover them and you did! You’re the man!! Thanks lots! 👏🏽😎
About the transferable Pokemon, I think they will all be added to the game anyway via the DLC update, if SW/SH are any indication, as all the 50 transferable Pokemon in base SW/SH were added in the expansion pass.
I'm sure it's on your list, but I already came looking for the Ominous Stake video, and had to go elsewhere. Calling it now, that'll be your most viewed video. Much love brother. Great work as always.
Not sure if anyone touched on it yet but any Pokémon holding an item like bishard from the evolution hordes you can run away from them and re-engage with a Pokémon that knows trick or thief (weak enough not to KO) and farm their items
have not tested it for the auctions but for outbreaks and Raids you don't even need to change the Clock anymore others have found out that all you need to do is go into the clock and then go over to Ok and go back into game (some times you need to do it 2 times for the first reset)
I think it's funny that they simply things like the Eeveelutions and Magneton's evolution method, but still add all of these items and various convoluted evolution methods that will likely be much more difficult to implement into future games than an icy rock or a magnetic field.
Hey Austin you might not read this but you only have to reset your clock once, what you do is save the game then reset the clock all you have to do to reset the stores is close the game then reopen it. That method worked for me a few times. But if you save the game when you buy something you will have to forward the game by 1 day again.
I know this is an older video but there is a bit of an easier way to reset the vendors for auctions. I've found saving, skipping the date forward by 2 days and then going in. If it's not the items I want close the game out and reopen the game. This will also change outbreak locations and I believe it changes tera raids locations. I have no evidence of this but I feel like each day may also have a different pool of outbreaks themselves and with the help of encounter sandwiches may help with relocating certain glitched spawns like Eevee.
No lie, since the game came out. I couldn't put the switch down for the gym or house chores. Thankfully I had work, so that reset my brain a bit. I'm watching this while exercising after work, to calm my brain down, and to get a workout in. I will be watching more when doing laundry. Thankfully I live in NYC so I don't have to worry about the travel portion. So I can just be on the switch on the train. What sucks is that I'm so close to beating the game, so fighting the urge is hard lol.
If it is your 'first' time loading the game up for the day, where you get the message the outbreaks have changed, you don't have to save and move the clock forward. Upon loading the game it will update everything, every time. So you can just close the game repeatedly until you get what you want. I don't feel like testing the Gimmighoul chest to see if resets the chance for them to spawn, but it works on the autions and the outbreaks.
You don't even need to keep TTing to reroll the auction items. Just save there in a spot where you can easily see all three items (with autosave off), close the game, advance one day, then load. If you don't like the items, just close and reopen, and they'll reroll. If you like one of the items, get it, save, close, TT ahead one day again, and repeat the whole process. I spent about 2 hours the other day and farmed 10 apriballs.
I've had the game since the midnight release and I still haven't gotten past levencia. I have two gym badges and 1 of the other two. Im just taking it slow and having a good time. Such a fun game
It might be that the auction house has a set internal schedule based on the calendar day. So the three items for sale on August 12th are the same for everyone.
Could you make a video explaining what exactly terra type means and it’s use and how to use it effectively? For example I found two charcadets, one has grass terra type and one has fire terra type. Why/how would I use one over the other?
austin, i got scarlet yesterday and your videos have helped me so much! i truly appreciate the hard work you put into your content. in another video you mentioned koraidon getting an upgrade and being able to swim/fly, how its connected to story progression. if possible, can you make a video explaining what story progression that is tied to? i found myself getting frustrated by certain areas being inaccessible due to my koraidon not having upgraded abilities since i went straight to exploring after the treasure hunt began.
I'm always amazed at how much information you are able to both obtain, and get out to the community in such a short span of time after the release of a new Pokemon game. The guides are always high quality as well, which makes it even more impressive. It's very much appreciated.
Update 5/30/2023: What was said in this video about the Transformation Items including the Plates, Reins of Unity and etc... is true, and the Pokemon can even just be in your box for them to spawn at the auciton.
you dont have to forward a day at the auction, unless you buy something, just save at the auction and skip a day for the first time, and save again. and now just keep resetting the game untill you get what you want, if you buy something just skip a day again and do the same
Hello.. Soo i found out that you can one shot the high Star Raids.... you might wanna make a video about that, bec people have to know that they should first buff themselves up with like swords dance (best would be the cover legendary) or ofc other buffs that can help (thats how i one shot a 6-star-pokemon) I just think that this will help people out having way easier raids and it is way faster.. Main reason is just bec people try to hit the raid pkmn as much as possible but as you might already know at some point those raid pokemons will buff themselfes and get covered with a shield so it 1) takes way longer to win against them and 2) is just annoying bec all of this could litterally end with one single attack from the beginning! btw love your videos much love man
I don't know why but when you were listing off the items at the auction house but for a couple of seconds you almost sounded like one of the guys who did the Poké Rap for the original anime
