I feel like black woman in Europe embrace their natural hair? Why do you think otherwise? This is a genuine question.

Pink Potatoxxx the black women in Europe historically have a different background. Many of them have parents or grandparents that recently immigrated to Europe from African countries. Because of this, they have a stronger relationship to their African roots and culture. The treatment of black people also differs drastically between Europe and the u.s. Black women in the US are descendants of slaves 400 years ago and are the product of freedom that was only granted less than 150 years ago. They experience much more systemic oppression from Caucasian Americans that still exists, there is no connection to our african roots and this causes a form of internalized self-hate. We are learning to love ourselves again.

Chantel hello, I didn’t expect such a quick response. 😂As a Black British person from London who’s grandparents came during the wind rush I definitely agree with everything your saying. I think I just interpreted your statement wrong, I thought you were saying your statement as though it is rare to see European woman with natural hair, my bad. But yes I think it is because of the reasons you said why it’s quite common to see black people embrace their natural hair in Europe despite it not fitting in to the European beauty standards. It’s very unfortunate that African Americans are sadly not as in touch with the roots but it’s good to see that many African Americans are becoming much more embracing of their culture and roots with the natural hair movement . Hopefully it continues and we see more of these features embraced in main stream media.

I tried this method today !! And let me just say it came out beautifully a tip is to follow her steps the only difference that i did was blow dry my hair on cool to help it dry as my hair typically takes 2 days to dry. Love my results !! Thanks girl one question though how do i store my fro ?? Should i pineapple it ??

sophia lynne it’s very easy to preserve this hairstyle ! Just tie your hair into a pineapple bun (sleep with a silk bonnet or use a silk pillow case) and the next morning just fluff your hair out and finger coil the frizzy parts ;) you can always use a hair dryer (cool setting) to stretch your hair out again leaving it nice and big ! Hope this helped ! Will try to make a video on how to do so 😊

Results: I didn’t really get the Afro but… it gave my hair a lot of volume but also my curls being defined, so it’s not an Afro but I still really love how it looks. 10/10 would do this again

Hey babe. I think I understand what you mean about the curls and all. But I think how thick your caucasian curls are is much harder to relate to this. So. Just get a moisturizer and leave in that might work. Or the regular products u were using before you big chop and just brush it and style it to compliment your face. Good luck love

Theresa Andrews I bought this hair pick in my local beauty supply store, nothing very particular about it haha it’s a bendy plastic one so it doesn’t irritate the scalp like one with metal teeth 😊

In Afro is not really a hairstyle it’s a hair texture. If you have anything between Hair type 3 to hair type 4….. it will naturally happen. The important things to keep your hair moisturized clip your ends, learn about protective hairstyling and how to safely maintain your hair while you’re sleeping so it doesn’t get tangled or matted. If you have to take effort to get a Afro then you weren’t meant to have one. You are born with it

uwu GodLoveMe i cut my hair off a couple weeks ago so i can grow it back, didnt take care of it for the half year or so before hand that i was growing it (because i never really touched my hair unless i was washing it in the shower) i had a super dead part that was just unfixable so i cut it off completely and got waves for like 2 weeks

Lzna i use the spiral hair ties and I usually tie it around just once and not so tight just to avoid losing the curl pattern, but I mean it’s not a must ! Just as long as you keep your hair up at night and not so tight , after that you can always refresh by redefining certain curls ;)

i used to be able to have a round afro when i cut my hair but when it grew back my hair is extremely long and i have a hard time getting it to fro because its beyond neck length i dont wanna cut it again what do you recommend i do

Nasma Askouri heyy , all this depends on the density of your hair as well as your hair type. I would say give it a try no matter what haha and see what happens. My advice is to avoid using products that weigh your hair down, this will allow your hair to be more « puffy » ! 😊

you probably can. I’ve got mixture of type 3 curls and somehow I can shape/pick my hair into an Afro , can only really do it when it’s comes untangled , dry but also moisturized.
