I feel like a huge factor relating to this issue is how far down towards your elbow the edge of your desk is, basically how long the pivot point is on your arm from your mouse center point. For me the deeper on my desk I can put my mouse (up to a certain point of course), meaning the longer my pivot point is from my mouse the wider my accurate area of my mouse pad is (for me its about 2 inches from my elbow). This is just coming from my experience as a 43.5 (cm) 360 distance player

SO yeah, resetting, didn't really understand that until this video. Been playing on mnk since I was 10 (37 now) and even with a faster sense, resetting is helping my precision so much. Just because I"m in my loose / comf area. thanks!

The whole, 'find yourself at awkward angles' is something I run into quite frequently. Often my wrist will end up turned so significantly that I can't really move my arm much anymore without resetting. I've noticed most of the time I wont even reset and will just try my damndest to hit the target even with my arm being in such a horrible position. The thought of resetting makes me feel like it will only slow you down. That is until you realize resetting just gives you a ton of accuracy back(making ttk shorter), but it still does ultimately slows you down. Honestly, the one thing I hate about using mice, is having to reset. I guess finding the sense where you feel most comfortable resetting is probably a good idea.
@Wazes
@Wazes 2 года назад
What I have discovered about myself is that I have a habits of putting to much pressure on one part of my arm when using my mouse, I will almost use my elbow or wrist as an anchor when using my mouse. I realize it was an issue because like you mention I would try my damndest to move my arm in a way it shouldn't. So I took to aimlabs and began moving my arm as a whole instead of tensing up or anchoring a joint. I really focused on making sure I don't tense up my arm or begin anchoring and literally within a minute I beat my gridshot score by 10k instant improvement.

Very interesting that you're say staying loose helps with precision but tension helps speed and momentum as I have the opposite experience. Staying loose helps me to be fast but a little tension (not a lot) helps my precision. Either way I think we both agree there is a perfect balance that needs found.
@DatGoodSir

Ah I see later in the video you agreed about tension for precision at the 12:50 mark but I still find the 5:23 mark statement interesting as I think tension can also kill speed.

Your sensitivity highly depends on what game you are playing. I used to play on 0.9 400 DPI back in COD4 time, but thats a game that almost never forces you to 180 degree turn or turn around constantly. The maps were small like CSGO, and you would always kinda have the gamesense of where people are, and the TTK was really low. So even if someone started shooting in your back, you are dead before you can start turning. However Apex and Warzone force me to play MUCH higher sensitivity because of movement and the craziness of high speed running and sliding in Warzone. I've been playing these 2 games since they came out and i am STILL having issues with my sensitivity. Because to have constistent aim, i need to lower it to atleast 1.4, but then my movement is restricted greatly. I can only 180 degree turn using the whole mouse pad. If i set my sensitivity higher, my aim just goes all shaky, and its literally useless for aiming and i cant get used to it.
@Sa1koFPS
@Sa1koFPS 2 года назад
i had the same issue exactly as you for long time , then choosed to go up with the sens , atm playing > CS:GO im playing 0.7 (1.4K dpi) , so im playing apex on 0.85 , still a bit shaky but much better then suffer from low sens , and from day to day u will be less shaky , i've played apex on 2 sens with 400 dpi , also cs go on 2 , Low sens more managable , but with a bit higher u can achive much more good things to your skill , and ofc ull be needed to work on the senstivity of your hand on the new mouse feeling , to get used to it , lose a bit shakyness everyday , and become better in every shooting games no matter what rn in the mainstream , do not be afraid to lose your aim becuse sens , if u are skilled to hit , u will hit with sens of 1inch per 360 or 50 ince per 360 , its just to find the right senstivity to work with that will benefit you the most(utlize mouse pad , 360 respond to off angles , easier vertical aiming , ability to respond to fast movement , close range combat) ,and to work on weaknesses of you , will feel the holes.... GL i really hope i helped you , back in the days i was looking from answer like this but no one out there could answer me like that :P Happy gaming (Kovvak fps aim trainer) is a beast to make progress in no time , really recommended.

My big problem In Alex is when someone comes close to me and I need to track them, I tense up and panic, missing everything. My sensitivity is roughly 35-40 cm/s per 360 and I’m unsure whether it is better to make that higher so I don’t experience that tensing up as much. Could I instead learn to stop that tensing without changing sens?

A small tip, you just need confidence in yourself and in your aim on these situations. I dont mean in real life, just confidence in your gamesense and all that, and trust on your sense , If you think moving or holding a pixel is the best option, do that with no doubt, dont be afraid of taking a bad decision, if you've decided that it has a reason, trust on that and if you fail, dont blame you, you can't predict always everything the others 6 players are gonna do. Following some of those tips I've improved my tension in game and my aim in bad situations, Im also switching from Controller to MnK. I've always played COD since I was a kid and even competed at it with controller.

Hey Dazs, great video once again. Question: If I have an extra large mousepad and never really reach one of the edges of said mousepad, how would I keep tabs about what my 360 distance is so that I can be consistent? It feels like perhaps one day I may be over or undershooting and my mousepad is not helping me readjust, rather just my muscle memory. I've thought about drawing on my MP with a pencil to mark my "real edges"? Sorry if I'm not making much sense LOL
@lookaquarter
@lookaquarter 2 года назад
You arent looking down at your mousepad while you play, so I don't think that is a good focus. I recommend, once u determine a sens/dpi for a game that you want to keep, when u warm up before playing, start at your normal sens/dpi/360 distance. If it feels slow, and u are lagging behind, lower it even more, so it forces your brain to recognize it is different. If you are overshooting players, you raise your sensitivity in the same way, where the change is enough it doesn't allow your standard muscle memory to kick in. Sometimes when you first start playing in a day, your muscle memory needs a 'recalibration' to be effective. You play a bit higher or lower than standard sens for a couple minutes, to where you start getting used to it, but arent fully used to it. Then you swap back to your standard, and it should feel more normal to you. Sometimes I'll take a while, and go super exaggeratedly back and forth between high and low sensitivities to do a big recalibration, but since I've been more focused on aim training, I always usually end up back at my standard sens for CSGO.

I play 1:1 sense on every game (same cm/360 for both hipfire and ads) so for me training one is like training both. But if you have different values I would still suggest only practicing hipfire sense on aimlab and practicing the actual scopes in-game :)

@@castleclasher1236 practice hip-fire and hop in game to practice your ADS. Realistically as you mechanics get better you'll be fine regardless of your sensitivity so having a different ADS doesn't effect you too much. And since the process of ADSing changes your FOV your sensitivity won't ever be the same when you ADS. You can make the relative be the same but that's something completely different. You just have to practice both. It's also why most people don't use 1:1 sensitivity. Because 1:1 is a pseudo higher ADS sensitivity.

Maybe it's your grip and/or the weight of the mouse. Different grips can have a different balance between precision and stability and the same goes for mouse weight. A light mouse is easier to move and doesn't strain as much to move, but a heavier one has more resistance and can "stick" more to the position it's at. And obviously the surface/feet combination.

I think you should write a script for your videos instead of just doing it while you’re recording. Maybe I’m in the minority here but I honestly don’t know what you were trying to say in this video. Like I get that the video is about mousepad control I think and that outside of the “sweet spot” you start to tense up and I think you were trying to say that happens because your unfamiliar with those parts of your mousepad. But I don’t know what the solution was that you were offering. You jump around a lot and stop your sentences halfway through and start another one so I’m lost as to what points you were trying to make. I also don’t know why you were lowering and raising the sensitivity. You said it was for demonstration but I don’t know what you were trying to demonstrate. That the problem exists with both low and high sens? If so, I don’t think we needed so many examples. In short, I think writing scripts and getting your points/instructions down in a more concise manner would help a lot. I appreciate the effort you put into the video and your desire to help, but I think this video left me more confused as I wasn’t able to follow and grasp what you were getting at. I mean no offended by any of this, just my opinion and suggestions.

Have you ever tried shifting the weight of your hand to the outside (ring and pinky fingers) as opposed to the thumb joint? I think this can create a bit less friction in some scenarios, even if you tense up a little, Dazs.
