also: don't forget to share and to ask for resources within the team pretty much at any point! there's always that 4tc fullpop abbasid floating 20K ress in a corner
I have seen a titan amongst men, divine being amongst mortals, an ant that is easily stepped on, companions that will throw you to the depth of hell without blinking an eye, an enemy that will bring you victory on a silver platter, a friend that will push a knife deep into your heart under the pretense of helping, a sage that have detached himself from worldly ambition, and people that only speaks the language of blocks. Truly the world of solo queue is full of marvels.
One of the things I regret from my video on AoE4 is telling new players "don't play team games" when I what should've said was "don't solo-queue into team games". I think cos I've run into a lot of toxic teammates while solo-queuing, I didn't want new players to run into toxicity as one of their very first experiences with the multiplayer
Competitive games naturally breed toxicity. AOE4's a little better than most because the playerbase is so much older and just doesn't give enough fucks to troll. At the same time, as a community we need to make more of a concerted effort to police ragers/trolls/hackers in general. I'm also really glad AOE4 doesn't have a Tyler1-style personality that's made it big.
As a brand new player, I hopped on ranked team games to try and play with other people my level, because I got stomped in custom games. I Que alone as I don’t have any buddies that also play at the moment. Even though I’ve won like one team game so far out of like 7, I definitely feel as though the people the ranked team matchmaking gives me… are not my rank.
Last night we did a 3v3 with a friend and a random on my team. Rando said "let's rush", so we did, popped 2 keshiks and started raiding, my mate was herassing with bowmen. Meanwhile the rando was sitting in his base with samurai, when we lost all troops due to being outnumbered, he was building 4 rams and said "wait till we have an army". I'm sorry but i don't think he understood what rushing means
I have a very usefull tip you can add to your list. My tip: Dont hesitate to move your econ. Sometimes the key to victory is to know how to consolidate losses. Dont freak out because you lost your base, if you managed to escape with all your villagers, you can rebuild and even do a comeback, But the important thing is that the guy rebuilding once he gets his production up, focuses on defending his teammates backline. I cant tell you how many victories I've had because the enemie thought they were winning by pushing and destroying my base, all the while my teammates have crippled the enemie team even. I main mongol and packing your base and move to a safer location bamboozles the opponent more often than not. But you can do this with every civ tbh as long as you have enough villagers.
thanks for replying but it still doesn't work. I googled it and it says the link may have expired, is there just a code I could copy and paste and request to join instead? Thanks in advance @@ChillyEmpire
damn how come we never play vs you? Our [Debils] team squad in on everyday... nice guide! also super cool to see more pros playing teams lately.... hopefully devs fix dodging one day
What you mention is true in lower leagues. It's less a problem when you hit high platinum/diamond. I love playing with randoms. Also in very heterogeneous matchups such as the one you get in custom games.
Complaining about 1 hour and fifteen minutes? Try 5½ hours :| 2 hours in the stone and gold was gone 3 hours the wood was gone 4 hours stone is worth more than gold 5 hours peasant battalions are commonplace 5.30 the enemy has lost all markets and collapses from the villager hordes
100% accurate iv been playing it since it came out and team games have been hella crazy XD. Randoms are shit trust me, i lost 20 games in total because of randoms in rank.
@@ChillyEmpire It is indicator when your army is few and weak against enemy. Separate indication of low economy. It is helpful when you want to determine if your allies need help.
Chilly you are conquerer i need an opinion: So i had this discussion with a friend back then about Age 4 (before the DLC arrived). And it mostly went between "Is it a balance problem" or a "design issue". Don´t ask my why. The biggest offender here are siege weapons for me. Either you lose the momentum you had because your opponent made 1 more siege than you. Or you just have people spamming nest of bees and you can´t take them down with imp springalds because they just delete them. Don´t get me started on the ottoman bombards or sushi bombards. So is it just me that it feels like a bit disconnected from the rest of the overall gameplay?
I don’t think it’s quite as dramatic as you’re saying but yeah I agree that siege weapons could’ve been designed a bit better. The game’s more fun when you’re not microing springalds - balanced or not.
@@ChillyEmpire we had one game last time where they had like roughly 80 HRE Maa and maybe 50 Rus knights + 16 mangonels against us. I already killed 8 mangonels :D To be fair those guy were conquerer team. But also it would have been less probelmatic if the Golden Pit map generation wasn´t like: "Here 2 sacred sites in the enemy base. Hope you don´t mind" Ah shit happens Q.Q
This happened to me just the other day 2v2 double Japanese random vs a Byzantine and ottoman team we were playing mountain pass and we had that thing so defended on both sides neither Double army could get through so I called it after an hour and surrendered even though my economy was so high it plateaued
