One thing to stress is majority of speakers entering under 100Hz pay a price of bigger distortion - quite often that distortion is audible and you can hear muddy base. Let subwoofer do it’s thing - it’s best way to play those frequencies in a clear and controlled manner. With 2 subs 120 Hz crossover why not.
Thanks for the info on bass. You mentioned that you have three subwoofers in your room. Are they all the same subwoofer? When I add a sub, do they all need to be the same make and model? Thanks again
Two more points about bass shakers, (1) they are powerful, but silent, so they dont create bass sound waves or disturb neighbors/family. (2) i recently experiened how awesome they are with gaming. They sort of act like a full body rumble pack for gamers. I think a lot of racing sim players use them. Im eager to experience them with horror movies or jumpscare games like alien isolation.
@@thelonestranger777 hey. Ive been using them for both gaming and movies or bass heavy shows. I spent about $170 for two daytons, a small amp, a splitter and cables. But its so awesome, especially cuz i run my subs at a low db in an apartment, and i think they reach frequencies below my sub capabilities. I recently have been using them for stranger things and playing horizon forbidden west. Tons of activity. But it takes some break in and tinkering with AVR speaker volume levels/distance settings, to get them working.
@@Chris-hr2uj Thanks for the info. I got 2 pb2000 pro's and I'm moving into my first apartment this week 😅 Sounds like bass shakers are exactly what I'm looking for. Hoping this new setup turns out ok, thanks again.
@@thelonestranger777 ahh ok good luck! I also forgot vibration absorption pads to fit under the legs of your chair, to decouple from the ground. But im sure youve done research etc.
@@Chris-hr2uj lol yea I've been looking into it about a couple hours ago, but it's good to hear reassuring comments on how to get the most out of these things. Just want to make sure it's proper.
Great job thanks for the info on bass and the best part is setting your crossover to optimize your LCR and have you ever seen or heard of putting a subwoofer on surround side speakers by way of high level input to help balance your surround sound? Just something I have been thinking about using in my setup, I have 4 subs in the room and I have changed my speakers to bookshelf speakers that are good down to 50hz but I cross them over around 70 hz for a cleaner sound, so what are your thoughts about doing this? The subwoofer is a match for the speakers and they are DCM CX17 and the subwoofer is DCM TB 1212 I am not looking for volume just blanket. The LCR are Towers DCM tf350 and I am happy with them because In mho they’re great speakers and vintage as well as the CX17s and TB1212 subwoofer. I did however had to rebuild the crossovers in a total of 8 DCM speakers which was a great improvement in the sound which only put them back to the original sound.
Hey Kay , I added a second budget sub but my Marantz SR5009 Does not have an Amp Assign setting for 2 subs , but it does have to pre outs for subs on the back . How can I possibly correctly calibrate the room?
