IMPORTANT COVID info before go: - To enter the Galapagos you need a PCR test taken within 96 hours. - Salvo Conduto - A document that your hostel or hotel needs to fill and send to you - once you book your accommodation, send to them: name, number of passport and nationality of all travelers. - Get to the Ecuador mainland Airport 3 hours earlier (yes really!) - In the airport, you need to do an extra check for Galapagos where they are going to check your documents (PCR test, passport, salvo conduto and bags), if everything is ok they charge $20 per person and you are clear to get on the plane to Galapagos. These extra checks can take more than two hours, so get in the airport very early.

If you're paying anything less than about US$450 for a return flight from Quito, be very careful (and more commonly $500 - $530). Government policy is clear that the lower priced flights are for Ecuadorians only. Be ready to pay the difference on check-in.

It works with LATAM. Instead of 400 USD per person - 280 USD (Guayaquil-Baltra, San Cristobal-Quito). Thanks for the great tip.

Maybe you could help answer this question. I'd certainly appreciate it if you could try. How do I make sure I will be able to enter the Galapagos without exceeding the tourist limitations? I keep reading that there are limits to the number of tourists in the Galapagos, but I see no place to find out whether I am going to exceed that limit. For example, how do I know that, once I get off the plane at Baltra or San Cristobal, I will not be told that I have to turn around because I am exceeding the number of tourists?

Hi Bethany, we didn't have any problems. You will need a PCR test within 10 days for Ecuador or 96 hours if you go to Galapagos. Hope you have an amazing trip 😍🛫🌎💚
