We visited the Ellis Brigham Boot Fitting Lab at Milton Keynes after still wearing a pair of 10 year old ski boots that felt like slippers :)
The audio in this is exactly as it appeared on the day, there were NO retakes, but of course we have shortened some parts of the fitting process to make for better viewing.
The process took about 1 hour 30 minutes, and included trying and fitting 3 pairs of boots before we found the right pair, as well as custom moulded footbeds.
We will update this after we have skied in them !

it is really exciting to see how customizable the boot fit process is. The measuring devices, and the creation of a perfect insole really increases the odds of having a fantastic fit.

A good fit is not a slipper fit!! A good fit is having even pressure around the whole foot and shin/calves, without pressure points. I ski in racing plug ski boots that take a long time getting them right. When you get that correct fiit you can ski well without over tightening them. Watch when a World Cup ski racer is in the start house getting ready to race. They will gently tighten their buckles. If you are the type that has to buckle ski boots at the top of of the lift and unbuckle them at the bottom of the run, then your ski boots are too large.
