This video will show you how to get creases, folds and imprints out of a Louis Vuitton bag. New or pre-loved this technique works for them all. Remember to follow the Louis Vuitton Goldmine on Facebook! / 1305059346368908
Hunter, you are the best. I love your positive personality, humor and willingness to share your knowledge! Even if I didn’t love LV bags, I think I would still watch you for entertainment value. I smiled and giggled out loud the whole video. So quotable: “...a crusty Keepall” “We are going to STUFF this bag, you have to stuff it. Logical, right if you stuff the bag it will give it shape. “I’ve said it once, I will say it again...don’t be afraid of your bag...it is just a bag.” “You have to tell your bag what to do, you have to boss it around” “This is not for the faint of heart, we are really giving this bag the works.” “We are going to leave it. Put it in your closet. Listen, this is a Keepall, its COVID, we are not using these right now”
I did this to my keepall when I got it last year. He is not lying...creases will go away! Mine is still in the closet, like what he said, it’s Covid, so I never touched it ever since then.
I was trying to figure out how to remove the creases in my 55 and came across your video! Stuffing it completely and pulling out the piping was a great tip! Mine was already holding an electric blanket and I realized that turning it on while my keepall is stuffed might be helpful...so I'm sitting here with my electric blanket turned on in my keepall as I gently massage out creases ☺️
You are adorable! Glad I found your videos... restoring several to resell right now and went to the hardware store and bought the “super simple” products you suggested. Thank you!
Great advice. Generous person and really entertaining as you work. I’m just starting my vintage collection and your videos are super helpful - makes me think I can do this! Thank you! 🎉
Thank you, just got a new Omerta Mini Molly backpack I wanted to look super crisp looking. Got it stuffed with washcloths and hand towels and will let it set. Googled a lot and youtubed as well and alot said hair dryers and the instructions that came with it said low heat in dryer for 10 min but after spending the money I did I didn’t wanna risk damaging it. Your video has it popping out so hopefully it dorks like this!
I do the same, and I also use a hair dryer to warm up the bag. Then I massage the bag and leave it cool off and in general to set for few days. Then I apply some premium oil (even for body or face will do, it’s leather so it needs moisture too). And it’s like brand new. I do this for years for any designer bag, works for every LV I have, as well as Gucci and Chanel. Only bag I sent to the store for repairs was an hermes simply because they are way too expensive to bother. But always trust the hair dryer ! It really works.
Hi Hunter! Do you feel stuffing would work for an epi Alma where one side has caved in a little? Or Any other suggestions for plumping out that side of the bag? It’s a very sentimental bag to me
I have a crease in a leather draw string. Any recommendations on getting that crease out? Thought it would come out with time, but it’s been there since December.
Omgosh you are the hunter I have been on that group for a couple years and I stumbled on your video today and didn’t know you where the founder of lv goldmine 😊
Hey hunter, watched you leather cleaning vid, but was wondering if your cleaning process lightens heavy honey/ patina, and what I should do for cracked piping? Bag is a Neverfull GM monogram.
I have a cross body purse and the flap gets squished when I wear it or sometimes pick it up from the top. I didn’t like how it was looking and so I stuffed it and left it alone for a while. Now it looks great. This tip really does work.
Hello! Your videos are most helpful. I would like to ask to make a video of what to do if the COLORFUL monogram is chipping off. And if there is a way to protect in advance!? Thank you
Hi Hunter, Not sure if it's possible but I purchased a vintage keepall 45 and keepall 55 the both are in relatively good condition to be 30yrs old, they do have some water stains on the vachetta and handles on the 55 have some very minor cracks....my question is if there is not a good way to get the dark water stains lighter, would you know how to gently get the vachetta darker... and also would repeated condition the handles that have some cracks be the only care (besides gentle cleaning) ypu would recommend for them? Thank you!!😊
can you do a video about cracking vachetta leather??? It seems on the strap stress points, the leather is dried out and it cracks. It gets worse with cleaning and moisturizing. I should have left it alone.
Tip: heat treating, less heat less effect, to much heat however equals damaging effects. Combine heat with shaping ur leather or fake leather and u can shape hats and bags much quicker, get to carefully experimenting! u can use a heater and place it near, or u can use a blowdryer for direct heat and shaping. Hat Shaping is more big on content for inspiration, but the same techniques apply! x
@Sean McGall - Geezus Christ!!!! WHAT?!?! Did you reread this before you posted this or do you normally write like this? 😬 Can someone translate this please?
Hopefully you will answer my questions. I have purchased a few vintage LV coated canvas bags amd yes they are all real. They have a moldy type smell and the coated canvas is somewhat stiff but not cracking stiff. Is there any way to soften the coated canvas? Like something I can wipe on the canvas to soften it like brand new again or close to it? I know these bags cost a whole lot brand new so why do the side do that?
I just purchased a DE speedy B 25 last night and stuffed it with a couple of large sweaters. How long did it take for the creases to come out or are you still dealing with that issue? I've been told by many people that in some cases, the creases never fully come out 👎😕.
Go to Amazon and buy a "felt insert organizer" get the size that fits your bag, my Vuitton Catogram takes a large, my Gucci Babushka took a medium, it will keep the walls of your bag from caving in, it works!
With the amount of money Louis Vuitton asks for the privilege of owning their bags, it is a shame that the bags come folded. Nonetheless, I enjoyed watching this video. Thank you.
I’ve had one of my LV Speedy handbags for 37 years 1984. Purchase at Saks 5th Avenue in California . I was taught by my mother always stuff your bags if not in use. Thank you very much for educating & demonstrating your ideas. As always with kindness. 😊👜
Hello! I just bought a used speedy 35 and have been following all your great information to clean it! I’m planning on reselling it once I get it to where I want. But I was wondering how long after I do the first cleaning can I do the next? LOVE your channel BTW!
