Good info given for new comers guys, a minor correction would be, you have to hold your learner's license for minimum of 9 months not a year before you can challange the road test. Also in Saskatchewan it is a law that if you do not have valid and original license from your home country, you will have to take 6 hours of classroom and 6 hours of in car training with SGI accredited driving school to be eligible for road test.
Thanks for the Video. I'm glad you started making videos in English because there are lots of immigrants who can't speak Urdu and wanna know more about Saskatchewan.
Guys Excellent...!!! One question, In India, we used to drive Right Hand Drive. Perhaps, in Canada North America, we use to drive Left Hand Drive. How feels you both. If there is any typical change in driving mode. I mean, it's hard or easy.
Thanks for the detailed information. Plz can u clarify below queries: * we are from India but based in the UAE for 15 years. I believe UAE license should work too. Plz confirm it doesn't have to be as per your nationality. * Do we have to take our own ( or friends) car for the test? Or is it provided by the test centre? * If it is our own vehicle, is it permissible to use one with rear parking sensor/ camera for the parallel parking? 🙏 P.S love the little peek behind from the little princess.🥰
Hello Lalita, Thanks for your comment. 1- Any valid driver's license will be acceptable, and it does not have to be based on your nationality 2- You can to take our own car for test, if you plan on taking driving lessons, the driving school generally provides the vehicle for road test. Otherwise you can borrow your friend or relative's. 3- Any vehicle is permitted, with back camera, parking sensors or not. Thank you so much for watching. Thanks for watching this video. You only need to bring in your driver's license and SGI can waive your learning period based on your driving experience. Please like, share and subscribe.
Your videos are awesome.. Really useful for new migrants.. My question, I have a heavy truck licensed issued in Dubai so is it easy to get a Truck license there in Saskatchewan? Please let me know the procedures..
My driving license expired in 2018 and I didn't renew it as I sold my car. Will I get a waiver or will I need a new one? Validity was for 10 years from 2008 to 2018.
hello why is that when I look on the sgi website there are some countries that they only accept or they have aggreement on class 5 please can you explain me a little bit thank you
Hi, I failed in my 1st Road test(class 5). How many chances are allowed to clear the test? I have been asked to get 6X6 classes. Can give test after 14days. It seems they watch you very closely. I don't think i made much mistakes. It is very painful to see a rejection after driving for 20 years safely in your home country.
Hello di m planning to move to Canada this year so plz tell me the province in which pr is easy and one thing my ielts score is stuck at 6 in gt .and I have completed my mcom in 2018 .
thank you sooooooooooo much.I'll arrive with my 2 children to saskatoon september 2022.my question is the driving test is manual obligatory??? Since in Lebanon my country we can pass the automatic car!
@@gulatifamilyincanada318 also lot of new models now come with PParking technology in which car can park itself!!!! Not sure what exactly SGI is teaching you by making this a big deal!
i am currenyly living in saskatoon so if i will get my driving licence along with driver experince letter through parcel so it will good to apply for Driving licence here ? i have 6 yaers experince in india
you dont need experience letter.. all you have to show is your driver's license from your home country, it has the date of issue, sgi here will acknowledge that and consider you as the experienced driver.
Great video! Any advice on where to get a license? The government website lists both government (SGI?) places and random offices - can you really get a license at the other offices or are they for insurance only?
What if I am not in india and now in Kuwait....and have a valid driving license here ...so would that help?? Would I get a waiver for the driving learning period
Yes if you have a valid drivers license from any country, you can take that along and SGI will verify it and then waive your learning period off. Please share to support and subscribe if you have not already.
@@gulatifamilyincanada318 do I need to get a international driving license from here or would the current dl allow me to drive as soon as I land on visit visa
My friend has G1 from Ontario, she just moved to Saskatoon. When she went to SGI, they are asking about Driving abstract of Ontario for G1! How can she get driving abstract of G1?
Here we can print our driver abstract on our online SGI account, I don't know if you can do the same for your ON license. You should call licensing authority in ON and they should be able to help you.
Hello Prateek, Thanks for watching our video. Just visit the SGI office with 2 documents to prove your Saskatchewan residency and they will take your ON license and you will get SK driver's license. More information is at www.sgi.sk.ca/moving-to-saskatchewan. Please subscribe and share. Thanks
I SAW MANY VIDEO REGARDING DL. MOSTLY THEY TALK ABOUT THAT YOU SHOULD CARRY DL EXTRACT WITH YOU SO YOU CAN SAVE YOUR 12 MONTHS TIME. AS I SAW YOUR VIDEO YOU DID NOT MENTION REGARDING DL EXTRACT. I AM COMING TO SASKATCHWAN IN AUGUST. SHOULD I CARRY DL EXTRACT WITH ME OR MY ORIGINAL DL IN ENOUGH? I HAVE 10 YEAR DRIVING EXP
Certain mistakes will automatically deduct 9 points such as missing a stop sign but they will let you know all driving offenses that will cause a test fail. If you fail its 25 dollars to try again at a later date and im pretty sure you can try unlimited times just like SpongeBob but don't quote me on that as a legal disclaimer none of this is advice and you should always ask your instructor any questions you may have
G1 & G are the driver's license categories in Ontario. Below is the link where all these levels are explained. www.insurancehotline.com/resources/tips-for-understanding-the-g-license-levels/ Thank you so much for watching. Please share and subscribe if you have not already
Thanks so much! This is so helpful. I have a question, My home country driver's license expired a month ago. Will I still get a waive-off on the learning period if I show my Driver's License? TIA
Yes you would. They look at the date of issue and for how long you had the license. If your license was atleast 27 months old before you arrived in Canada, they waive your waiting period plus training requirement.
