@@H4334H_ This is why I respect the UK! PS: Im german so the past of my country couldnt be more difficult. To remember this past is the only way to stop it from repeating.
@@Wolf-ls1wt - I thought one of your folk's comedians (Henning Wehn?) had a pretty good take on it. "Every country I'm in, I see Germans on TV being portrayed as the villains!" "Yeah, that's an unfortunate stereotype. Who plays villains on German TV?" "Oh, Germans, of course." I think part of comedy like that is the ability to laugh at your own pain, even when it REALLY hurts.
I love the tshirt designs, will definitely be checking that out for Christmas, totally agree on the minimalist design. Keep up that fantastic attitude.
Im from New Zealand and I have long considered whether I would be for or against that. Thing is i reckon over 90% of the country would be against that though.
This is the first video of the channel I see and I already see that this guy and his fans put a lot of love into keeping this channel going. It's absolutely mind-blowing.
"Zargoplex from Tooghutler 3 sent me his planet's flag with a message saying, and I'm sorry about my pronunciation, 'HYRGFVVV NOKTUU TOOGHUTLER QUYCER FURV!' Which essentially means 'How dare you recognize the rule of the Tooghutler System Confederation just because they sent you a flag!'"
I already expected a lot of confederate flags, swastika flags, Soviet flags and so on. Maybe he doesn’t show these in his videos, or maybe he actually didn’t get any xD
Peoples Republic of Korea was the last unified of Korea and it's only legitimate descendant is the DPRK so... You probably shouldn't recognize South Korea unless you consider a US occupation government to be legitimate.
@@petersmythe6462 dude it was a joke and the reason why Korea was divided was because the soviet union invaded Manchuria and then took the northern part of the Korean peninsula and ''liberated'' it (also have you seen the atrocities they commit their) People in the west say ''best Korea'' when its such a shithole that no normal person can stay in DPRK for a day.
9:17 Puppyplay flag!! I didn't expect to find it here! Also funny that it was sent by someone named "Dom" I'm obssesed with this series!!! It's a very impresive collection.
I assume the consul is just going to bring an extra suitcase when he goes back home to visit his family. And diplomatic immunity will kick in, preventing any possible custom weirdness regarding moving flags between countries (like how the Iranian ministry that was originally contacted couldn't send a flag because of sanctions, and directed Sebastian to the Iranian embassy in Denmark. Although sometimes an ambassador's family with live abroad with them, so it might be "will daddy be bringing home another flag today?"
@@martinmendl1399 yeah I see that man everywhere, at least he sticks to geopolitics. Justin Y is clearly a bot as he is in Pewdiepie videos, car content, geography. Basically everything.
3:38 A fun fact about the North Korean flags found in NK embassies and consulates: Those used to be made in Poland :) The order came through the consulate in Warsaw (currently defunct), always from the same, very popular flag shop. Then the consulate took upon itself to redestribute the flags further. (I know a couple of guys who work in the shop 😀 )
That's actually not too uncommon for her majesty's office to send out "best wishes" letters to people asking her to do random things. They mostly banter with children but sometimes adults too. She even personally went to an actual wedding some years back.
I'm so glad the algorithm recommend you, you've got a new subscriber! This was interesting, it's so nice to see all the people who are willing to help. P.S. cheers from Bulgaria!
Hey sebastian, we wanted to day congrats on 100k subscribers, we hope you can tell everyone about Lithuania and also, if you have a flag of the city of Suwałki in Poland, my son would like that, thank you-regards from vytautas, Lithuanian diplomat and channel owner
Hey Sebastian! Around 6:15 you referred to the British flag as the Union Jack- whilst many people call it that, the flag was actually only called the Union Jack when it was mounted on a warship that wasn't in a harbour. When on land, the flag was called the Union Flag instead. Technically In 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that either name could be used officially, so it's not wrong to say Union Jack anymore, but the history is really interesting and I thought you might appreciate it!
I love seeing all of the candy from around the world. I have a huge sweet tooth and would love if you made a video tasting and rating all of the different treats you get so that I can know which ones I should try to buy online. Thanks for the great content, I really enjoy it!
It's really something. You'd figure after three videos, you'd tell people to give it a rest, but you're still looking for more! Shows how kind and appreciative you are of all these international gifts. Congrats on 110,000 subscribers! Mad jealous that you've achieved my twin goals of getting all the flags and all the international candy.
You say "sorry for my pronounciation", but then you proceed to nail it! :) I can't believe how much preparation goes into all of these videos if you even put the effort to pronounce Grudziądz right lol. Anyway, I enjoyed every single one of your videos and I'm very happy and excited that you'll start treating youtube as a job from now on! :)
One of my favourite kinds of jokes is when people make fun of my country/UK lol. I want Family Guy to do more British skits. 6:28 *british government takes notes*
6:26 is the Red Ensign for British Merchant Navy, the Royal Navy use the White Ensign which is similar but with the Union Jack in a St. George's Cross rather than all red flag.
Man, you're so humble and casual in name-dropping the cool stuff you did, you're like "oh, we drove to china, btw". That's just so cool. Do you happen to have ADHD? Asking because I met people with the condition that had many interests like you.
@@SpaghettiRoad ADHD Combined here. For some reason we are absolute pack rats with certain things, personally I collect knifes and mugs, it's just a thing with us
@@reyavispa1472 yeah, like New York city and The New York state. Technically the city is located inside the region, but by the law theese are two different subjects.
I'm absolutely loving these geopoliticsy videos, but after hearing you used to be a physics teacher I lowkey would be really interested in any physics videos you make. Also it makes your backgroung even closer to CGP Grey lol
I just wanna say, that your flag videos and everyone that reaches out providing flags are always the highlight of my day. I don't know why I get so irrationally happy watching your videos.
10:46 DANZIG! Just kidding, we Germans already made enough harm to Poland and other countries so most of aren’t complaining about our large territorial losses throughout History, plus most of us are already happy about us being unified again (3.10.1990).
Glad to hear that as Pole. Young people in Poland mostly stopped disliking Germany only because of history, but there sadly still are some exceptions. I also hate one thing about Germany. WHY THE HELL DID YOU PUT SO MANY ARTICLES LIKE DIE DAS DER? THE RULES ARE SO HARD TO LEARN!
Hiya from Bedfordshire! Just popping in to say that the country map you showed was actually a map of the voting constituencies if I'm not mistaken! Still a fantastic video either way and I hope I can get you a flag soon!!
For a bit of help, the rose on the English county flags is the Tudor rose which was made when Henry Tudor and Elizabeth of York United the Yorkist and Lancastrian houses and ended the wars of the roses. The reason (most likely) that there’s a Tudor rose on the flags is because henry demanded loyalty from his subjects and wanted to make his reign secure so put the Tudor rose everywhere (in churches and old English buildings too). Hope that helps
Bangladesh : "Need flag ok we will send a small flag to make you happy" Him : "Pakistan and Myanmar send me big flags" Bangladesh : " wait what? How about I will send the biggest flag possible and the photo of the father of Nation "
me and my bf are gonna get you the flag of every province in the netherlands, and the flags of our cities (and im gonna throw in some lgbt+flags for good mesure) love your chanel and hope you will be able to get the whole map coloured in soon
7:30 I used to think Welsh stuff wasn't included because it was a principality of England but apparently despite giving the prince title it's a country in its own right - I've never been sure tbf, glad that's cleared up (Hasn't been a principality since 1500s I think)
I would really like to send you the allmighty Venetian flag (from the Veneto region, Italy) but sadly i don't have the ability to do this. If some venetian will read this:"se potete mandategli la bandiera nel nostro grande veneto! viva l'autonomia veneta"
Bloody proud to have my flag (West Ridings of Yorkshire) included, it's a beautiful thing. Full of symbolism, the whole description: The flag shows the cross of St. George, the historic symbol of England, with the vertical band off-centre to the left, in the format adopted by most Scandinavian countries. This reflects Yorkshire’s Anglo-Scandinavian heritage, the county having been settled and ruled by Norwegians and Danes in the C8th & C9th as well as focussing the design on the hoist, westernmost, side. Placed at the centre of the cross is the traditional white rose of Yorkshire, in use since the fourteenth century, shown against a blazing sun, a heraldic combination known as a “rose-en-soleil”. The same combination of “rose en soleil” device and red and white colours appeared in the arms of the former West Riding Council of 1889-1974.
The same company must be printing half of all these flags. Same material design, fold pattern, creases, shine, printer ink quality, and attachment points.
