I never played any stalker games before and recently downloaded the gamma mod pack to try it out and after 24hrs of playing I’m totally hooked and a huge fan now.
The biggest hindrance to getting expert tools is not having enough stashes north of the barrier. You can "create" new stashes with fetch quests. NPCs that give document and package retrieval quests creates a new stash when you accept it. If the NPC is a trader/important, you can save and reload to get a new location. Examples of these quests include - 1. "Get documents" quests from Barkeep, Dushman, Sakharov, Hermann, Mil boss guy (forgot his name, sorry), etc. 2. "Package Retrieval" quests - Skinflint, Drug Runner quests from random Freedom stalkers, etc. 3. "Check Stash" quests from random Loners. Like all quests, turning these in also has a chance to give a new stash location. Remember, reloading will reset quests that random stalkers give. Use the save reload trick only for quests from important NPC characters. Or you can reload and walk around a base to see if a random guy has the quest you need. . FYI - There are at least 3 other stashes I know of before the Gatehouse roof stash in the Radar. Thank you for showing how to get there btw. I remember my first time jumping around for it. Be warned - come prepared. You need the Psy helmet to go beyond the Barrier. Also, you will almost certainly encounter a Chimera or two even before the gatehouse. .
my first expert tool was stashed just after you enter radar from army warehouse, in the stash at the right side of the road, 15 meters from the map crossing area. after 100 ish hours of gameplay. at that point i had a nosorog, 3rd gen NVG and PDA ready to be upgraded. unfortunatly soon after that i deleted the save uniintentionally while hard updating the mod :(
Ok ok ok enough, subscribed. I played the all three Stalker Games back in the day and was wondering what that GAMMA thingy was, went through the whole process of installing everything and i gotta say, freaking hell it was worth it, what a game, what an experience. Therefore i really appreciate your videos since i find myself completely clueless at times in this game.
You can ask the guide in Yanov to take you to Jupiter Underground for 1500 roubles, and you end up at the bottom of the ladder to just outside the laundromat.
Tip: After you kill a bunch of Stalkers save the game before checking their inventories. Weapon quality is random but locked once you open their inventory. So you can save scum your kills till you get a gun you want with a 60% barrel. You can then swap in 100% parts and maintain the barrel with no special toolkits. Just use cleaning kits to bring the overall quality to 100%.
Good tip if you don't mind cheesing the game. I admit I cheesed & save scummed the fuck out of my first GAMMA playthrough, but on the second playthrough I'm taking it a lot more seriously and daresay it's more fun & immersive, though a lot more difficult.
@@nullmoxy Actually, there is a cheaper way to Outskirts. If You are at Jupiter, the guide will take You to Jupiter UG for 1500. But this is the end of the underground level, You only have to walk up the ladder and You are in Outskirts 😁 I just found it out myself. This is also cheaper to get to Pripyat, since from there Pripyat is not too far. I usually take this route to scavenge those levels (I just moved to a new hideout in Jupiter).
The only down side of the DVL 10 with federal amunition is low range. I got the gun from a monolith master, when I try it on radar, trying get those monolith from long distance, the gun fail me. Luckily I carry an Ak12 monolith upgraded and that help a lot
In the video you mention that you are unable to make your squadmates equip armor. In Mo2 there is a mod for that. this mod is unstable but allows you to make the NPCs on your team wear armor. This mod is called the following in Mo2: DNPCAV NPCs wear armor you give them (Crash to desktop sometimes with shift transfer)
It isn't really "unstable". I have been using this mod for a few weeks and haven't had a crash yet. So I would say that the mod could crash but is likely to not cause any problems.
Actually i think you can't use any armor you want. I have tried putting on a monolith exo suit and a Mercenary nosorog and it didn't work. but if I try to put on a hybrid or a ghillie suit it works perfectly. i also tried to apply a basic monolith armor on a rookie. it didn't work. so my theory is that you can only apply certain armors to a NPC that is high enough rank to equip that armour.
Hey dude, was a very nice vid! But i wonder, how you made your items get highlighted like that. If I favour one item, it puts it simply on top of the list. but there is no star and no other background for it.
I recommend the mosin as it only needs the historic repair kit and shoots a powerful round. Most .45 pistols are good for killing mutants early on as you can buy hydrashock for quite cheap at Butcher in Garbage. Otherwise just a shotgun with slugs will do alot.
#Really early - SMGs/.45 pistols. You can repair most SMGs (even high-tier SMGs) using a Handgun repair tool. Just right click the weapon and use Maintain Parts> Replace for anything that isn't green already. Green parts can be cleaned the same way with a 10% repair kit. #Late early to mid - Shotguns, Kar98. Only reason I do not recommend a Mosin is because no vendor sells the ammo before you get at least 500 rep with a Warsaw pact faction. Even then, it is expensive. Mauser rounds are cheaper. But if you do not find a Kar or forester, use what you can get your hands on. An SKS is an excellent gun at this stage. It doubles as a sniper and AR. Decent scope too. You will hopefully have found a basic toolkit by now. The Historical Weapon repair kit - it is cheap to make, and will repair most shotguns, SKS and some snipers. I would add SVT to this list but for some weird reason, it needs an Advanced kit to repair. If you find one with a green barrel, the rest of the parts can be swapped out. Else, the SVT is rather pointless by the time you can repair it. #Mid to early late game - any AK-style weapon is preferable, imo. Why? In Gamma, WP and NATO small-bore rifles do similar dmg. However, WP ammo is a lot cheaper and easily available on dead stalkers. You can also buy really cheap HP ammo from Butcher for AKs but not for Nato rifles. Keep an eye out for AK 105, AK-12 Monolith, ISG AK variants, tactical versions of AKs. Modern AKs give wider range of scope options (Piccatiny/weaver rails). Default WP scopes are awful imo. Lasers on weapons that have it can be (de)activated by long pressing the headlamp key (L). Similarly, scopes with Night Vision can be (de)activated with the M key by default. Also, note that in Gamma, the Swamp Thing kit changes the ammo to Nato rounds. Shotguns are more of a hindrance at this stage due to their weight. Keep a .45 Hydroshock pistol for dogs, zombies and other low tier mutants. Highly recommend a FN variant or the Korth 6 inch. Deagles are preferred by some players. But fire rate is low and .357 ammo is rarer/expensive. Your secondary weapon should be a Sniper. Ideally silenced/suppressed with an adjustable scope. At some time, switch out the kar/forrester for a better sniper. Mauser ammo is lower dmg and loses its value against targets with good armor. Get good armor yourself and start collecting artefacts for late-game crafting. #Late game - Community preference is Sniper, Heavy AR or a DMR, and an optional full-auto or droz shotgun. Find and craft powerful artefacts for the late game. More so than weapons, it is the armor that will have the biggest impact. A Nosorog with good attachments makes you practically invincible. Or at least lets you feel invincible until you get multiple RPGs to the face. .
About the expert tools and stashes, does NOT picking stashes south of the red line increase the chance to receive stashes north of the red line And thus if the goal is to obtain stashes locations to get the expert tools should i refrain from looting the stashes located on the south of the red line?
Regarding the stash you showed at 2:32. Doesn't GAMMA's default settings not spawn things in stashes unless you've got that stash marked on your map as part of a quest reward? Or has this changed with a recent update?
Here another tip. If you need to carry toolkit with you at all time. Carry the highest tier. All toolkit are now in 1 if you have expert. For a stalker mod it and Grok add it to the (of now) latest build
Hey, can you make a video explaining how the reputation/goodwill works on stalker Anomaly? It's confusing and I don't get it yet, thanks for you awesome guide videos, they helped me a lot!
looking for expert tools almost 7 days now .... open more that 30 stashes all over red forest , jupiter , zaton ... no expert tools .... :( im getting mad
I've never used the anabiotics; I _love_ the thrill of mad-dashing to safety from an impending emission and I feel the anabiotics remove a good deal of that sense of danger and excitement. Though I countered this by significantly reducing how frequently they occur as that also makes them feel a lot more special and spectacular. I strongly believe this game/modpack is meant to be best enjoyed for its immersion* 😁 (*and best played while high af)
Thanks so much for these videos. As a returning player to the stalker series after like 12 years, they've helped me immensely. I think your channel will blow up in subs in the coming of Stalker 2.
Would you mind doing a video on the functional use of artifacts? I just have them all dumped in storage and I’m not sure exactly how the melting / combining functions work
I've noticed the Bat artefact doesn't actually do what the game (and the weapon/armour/artefact spreadsheet) say it should do (upgrading artefact tiers), so that doesn't help... To clarify I mean it does it randomly instead of to the next tier of that artefact type.
hello, I heard it is possible to make traders sell weapons. Can you please explain how to do this? I just want to see weapons and armors via trading, for now this features seems missing for me. Weapons should be there, extremely expensive at least
@@nullmoxy yeah I used default gamma settings and just found it there. I was however playing on tourist difficulty so maybe that had something to do with it?
Now I could be mistaken about this but in my experience it seems like weapon repair status makes literally no difference if a companion is using the gun. There have been shotguns I COULDN'T EVEN GET TO FIRE and my companions were blasting off whole magazines rapid fire. Sure they weren't hitting much but I don't think that was due to the gun... So try giving your companions the crappy broken weapons that would be good if actually "functional".
And within an hour of posting this I found a busted up PKM... Sadly it feels like compansions don't make very good use of such weapons. Enemies with mounted machine guns go absolutely nuts with them but that's not the case for a guy with a PKM in his inventory.
so i have been looking for expert tools for 3 irl dasy now i have cleared out all the stashes i went to all fo the ones that had the writing about whats in it first but now i have zero stash locations to search above dead city and army warehouses i went all the way through cnpp sarcophaguses deserted hospital limansk priyat radar everywhere i could and still nothing i have 3 exo suits now even have unisg nosorog that im using now have it filled up but cant fix it i have 5 stashes full of guns and im stuck using the monolith ak 12s because i cant get advanced tools already done brain scorcher and miricle machine plus living legend stuff i dont get it how i still cant find expert tools i think they should just add a mission in the main quest line that is a guarantee expert tools once your far enough into the missions have over 500k right now and the game feels boring now because im just wondering around looking for one thing and one thing only
Question. How to activate weapon laser? That gimbal atached to some weapons. Is there some key bind im missing? In stalker Gamma 0.9 ofc. Sorry for bad Englisch...
Checked out the stash box at Radar as indicated - just the usual filler (a basic outfit kit) in it, no expert tools in sight. Running Gamma RC3.2, I think this guide is already wildly out of date sadly.
Mutant parts which have a food value and can be cooked tend to fetch more money at butcher. Where as mutant parts which are tagged as "scientific specimen" will fetch you more money selling them to the scientists in yantar. :)
