- If you are still struggling to grasp the mechanics in the Second Encounter after watching the video, I have provided an alternate explanation in the description that will hopefully help you get it. - On top of the farming method I mentioned in the video, you can actually get re-rolls of the exotic class items from normal chests in the pale heart too and by also running the exotic mission again as many times as you want!
do you need to get the the exotic class item on all character's to be able to get it from the overthrow or can i get it on my warlock and then farm the chests?
@@Cloud-ep2ot if you only get it on warlock and farm the chests, you'll only get the warlock bond exotic class item. you'd have to run it on the other characters and then farm chests on those other characters to get their class items
Thanks for doing the little overlay showing the matching clock nodes. The “famous “ destiny RU-vidrs just rush to be the first to get a video out but they suck at explaining things. They just try talking while playing because they don’t want to waste time editing in little details like you do.
Thanks for the guide. As a 62 yr old guardian I f*** hate timers. Trying to enjoy playing with my teenaged son and the stress takes the enjoyment out of running this. I feel for you solo players I personally think it was shorted sighted on bungies part.
I totally get that! There's absolutely no need for a timer during a mission like this that already requires a lot of communication and solving mechanics. I wish you both the best of luck on completing it though, and if you have any issues understanding the second encounter I have provided an additional explanation of it in the description so maybe it will make more sense!
The time honestly isn’t that bad I just did it with a random who never did the mission same as me and despite my constant fuck ups we were able to be beat it with like 5-6 minutes to spare third encounter may be a little challenging but overall the mission isn’t as hard as people make it out to be.
Thankfully it isn't the worst in this mission that is true. I think the reason they even have it here is because they needed some kind of fail-state and since you can't wipe at any point and there's no revive tokens, they probably settled on the timer mechanic. Though honestly, I still don't think they needed it. I would've preferred to take my time and explore all the areas of the mission without being rushed, but that's just me.
Brother I totally feel you! I'm 53 and my son is 23. He gets frustrated easily but is able to grasp mechanics really quickly. Me on the other hand can't grasp them no matter how many times its explained. We tried this mission once already and the timer got us in the first room with the clock face. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to convince him to do it any more. He absolutely hates bungie's infatuation with timers.

Some people are saying that once you beat this you can get the item to randomly drop from cheat and activities on the pale heart for that character you beat it on so for my fellow solo's out there who only play one character really. Just beat it on your main and then go do the pale heart stuff.
I did this whole thing without even knowing what it was for. I remember doing the overthrow and while I was looking for the hand to play the travelers blessing seed I noticed a witch with some crystals so I killed her like a good guardian I am lol and I did that again in the other locations and then i noticed that “interact” thing and heard savathun talking and the banner appeared and then i was like “damn, idk whats this for but I don’t have a buddy to do this mission “ 😭😭😭😭
No offense I'm not mad but all you had to say for second encounter was " light 3 dark has 3 shoot the leftovers and kill tormented to shoot them" cause us to wipe there so we are now restarting.
Correct. Except you need to it a bunch of times. So like the quest might say you've discovered 6/6 cysts on it, but until you've gone through and ran each of the 6 individual cysts (sword dance, moth-infested cavern, slayer, searing light, smothering darkness and aerial ace) you will not have them all unlocked. It takes a lot of rounds of the quest, i'm not exactly sure the number.
To put it a different way: You need to find the 3 cruxes that are tethered both on you and your teammates screen. You and your teammate will have 6 cruxes with active tethers, and 3 of those 6 will be in same spot for both of you. You can either do this through method one which is by figuring out which cruxes you and your teammate do not have tethers on (since there will be only 3 of those per person) or you can do it by calling out which cruxes have tethers (which there will be 6 of them per player.) Whoever is the one shooting does not need to make the callouts, they just need to listen and then figure out which ones to shoot

You might've already completed it. They were two legendary quests that were required to complete the destined heroes exotic quest for the ergo sum sword. So if you already got the sword you did the quests. But according to others, you don't need to do those quests for this.

@thenightingale7405 RU-vidrs dont do it cause it reduces viewership length. People are more likely to complete the entire video when its not divided, as people who pick and choose where to watch usually dont finish the video from start to finish.

Using a different numbering method for the cruxes between the 2nd and 3rd encounter is a mistake should use clock positions for both to keep it consistent.
I am doing level 3 public missions in all three area all the time for days with my friends and not to mention I have unlocked everything but this garbage.. why? Why no witch queen appears after I complete a level 3 activity? Any other people who experience this?

In a way I like they do these missions to be played with others, but I HATE how the force you to communicate during it. I've tried way too many times to do the weekly coop mission, just to fail because the others don't seem to know how to read the chat. And no, I don't have a mic.
I love the fact that if you have any form of vocal degradation that you can't speak and can't type fast or have social anxiety while playing the game you're completely fucked and you can't get these Exotics any other way
I am confused as I have comleted all the missions/ campaign and I have done all overthrows in 1 instance solo and with a fireteam and I cannot get the witches to spawn. any help?
i've done "found in the dark" and "lost in the light" and still can't find the secret keeper. do i need to do the cyst mission? any help is appreciated guys

Mission has a huge bug for me.. everything we do the symbols are absolutely wrong.. i call tower and traveler, my gf got 4 different one's.. happens every time.. pretty sad it's not fixed after over 4 weeks
I've done every single Micha and Final Shape quest that there is and still the wizards aren't spawning. I'm doing the overthrows solo and that may be the issue but I genuinely don't know. I've been at this for almost 2 weeks and am debating uninstalling.
I know this for a fact because I was driving around last night and circles just opening up the chests that are strewn about on the ground here and there and I just kept opening them up over and over and I got I got one to drop
What a stupid way to explain the crux part. Shoot the ones that glow for you both, they call out all glowing , you call out all glowing. Shoot the same numbers.
do you need to complete dual destiny on all classes for it to drop in pale heart chests? Or it is just a clear for each character so each class can unlock it from pale heart chests?
If you want it on hunter you must complete the mission on hunter, then farm the chests on hunter to get the exotic cloak chest drops. If you want it on titan, you must do the mission on titan, then farm the chests on titan to get the exotic mark drops. Same goes for warlock. So you will need to do it once per character if you want to get all of the class items to be able to drop.
micah doesnt have a quest for me and it still isnt giving me the message when i finish an overthrow, ive been doing this for 3 days and im losing my mind
Just did this quest with a friend and got to the final boss but kept getting hung up on the clock and sent back to orbit. It was cool but holy shit why does it need to be timed. It’s an awful awful idea to do anything timed for exotic quest that take a hour to finish. Absolutely ridiculous. My buddy has a speech impediment which doesn’t help with a high stress and also you gotta get 3 in a row without messing up. Bungie needs to remove the timer it’s absurd
There's not really much else I can say other than what I did in the video. You and your teammate are trying to find the one tethered crux that both of you have in the same spot. So have one person call out all 4 tethered spots and then the other person says which one matches and you both shoot it at the same time.

You do not need to do Micah's quests, that is not true. I have proof that I still had part of it unfinished and still was able to get the steps done to unlock the Dual Destiny node.

Always find it weird when Bungie creates missions where people do it once and dont wanna do it again. Everyone I know whos done this has said theyre not ever doing it again.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. While you do have to get 3 correct in a row, you don't have to get 3 of the patterns in a row. You are allowed to let the patterns change and if they change without you shooting anything, it's okay, it will not reset you. However the second you get one wrong, you have to restart all over and do 3 again.
This is an lfg nightmare!!! Had to use Google for symbols, maybe have team mate help keep ads off of you while trying to read symbols. Seeing the symbol, looking at another screen to find the symbol to know what there called. Sucks!
You make a good point that I did not take into account the fact that there might be people who do not know the symbol callouts. However, you can always describe it and usually most people will understand what you mean. At least for the encounters where symbols are, you can usually take your time describing it.
