Hi Ben, thanks for the video. I have 2 questions: how do you set up the shadows in the elevations? And are the foundation lines, details lines in 2D? If not how did you get them to be dotted. Thanks...
Hey Susan. For the shadows check out my video about creating 3D Sections. I show how to turn on the shadows and where the settings are. For the foundation lines, in this video they are detail lines. You could also use Visibility Graphics and change the Projection Line settings. In the Pro Course I cover both methods, and I'll get to recording the elevation videos pretty soon, so stay tuned!
I also emphasize the use of hot keys. Mine developed back in acad and basically I transfer any keys requiring my right hand and mirror it on the keyboard to my left. For example, move would be M, but mirroring makes it a V. So every time I want to do a move command, I hit V. Keeps my eyes on the ball.
In Revit 2019 and up, I like to widen the properties palette and proj browser such that the view area is square. Then when I open and pull views off to my main screen, they're all manageable square tiles 👍
Nice video but please have a think about what the back ground looks like as I think it would look much more professional set in an office environment. Just a suggestion as you are bound to get loads of subscribers. I have been following Balkan Architect for about a year and he has gained about 50,000 subscribers in the time
hey - great video - already saved me some time! please can you clarify how to set 'paste; aligned to current view' as the shortcut you are using (ctrl+shift+V) ??
Thank you! You can access the shortcuts menu with the shortcut KS, then search for Paste. You can also download all my custom shortcuts here: hyperfinearchitecture.com/shortcuts Includes PDF with all the shortcuts and instructions on loading them.
Hello. I have a very strange kind of problem. Maybe you got any clue what is it? I run Autodesk Revit and without opening any project I can see in task manager Revit eating my memory piece by piece. It begins with 5% of total memory usage and slowly it goes up until it uses about 60% of all memore available. I repeat I don't open any model/project, just start the program and watch it destroys my memory...
Thanks for this video this is very helpful video I wanna ask you a question in this video I saw many sections but the section line is half how can I hide the section line.
You are very welcome! To split the section line select the section and look for the zig-zag break symbol right in the middle. Lots of ways to hide sections in a view, I use a View Filter to hide sections that I have not place on a sheet. All the details are here: gum.co/revit You can use discount code FASTER
Hey good to see your video. Is there anything you may consider to help visually impaired people to learn. I find the mouse movement very quick in many videos and am very frustrated with white background on revit. Is there any good option or even personnal support? Thanks
Hello! the SA keyboard shortcut comes by default select in the entire project, when I go to change it and select only in view as is as you have it, it is not changed, it keeps selecting in the entire project, what can I do ?
How to create quicker views? We use Arch model as linked views and we create our views from theirs but have to change VG all the time. View templates doesn’t seem to work all the time because it changes the associated level. Please advise.
A view template won't change the level, but it can change the View Range. Make sure that is set to what you want OR checked off so the template doesn't change it. Here's a cool Project Template I helped make: hyperfinearchitecture.com/30x40
If you can be more specific about “making buildings” I can give you a real answer. Napkin sketch? 5 minutes. Design and site planning and Construction Document? A year.
@@HyperfineArchitecture I want to make a rendering of a few buildings I designed whilst in university for my portfolio I have sent myself a deadline and wanted to complete these buildings before the deadline. I have already designed and planned them right now I am focusing on the digital model making and hopefully rendering.
Then I’d say it should take as long as you want to achieve the quality you want and the deadline you want. 1 day, 1 week or 1 month, like this: ru-vid.comjHpiAglKJio?feature=share
Hi Anna, I built my own. Complete parts list and more info is here: hyperfinearchitecture.com/build-a-computer-for-architecture-school-or-professional-practice/
