Untypical video, answering a question I got via email. It's pretty hard to start a freelancing career, I've been there and understand it, so I hope this video will help you - I've showed my own path here, which may be different than yours, but at least would give you some thoughts.

I'm currently not planning to outsource projects, I'm happy with my local team. And you haven't landed a single project - maybe the problem is how you present yourself to the client, and of course in that video - what examples of the projects you have, or any proof of past experience. And depends on the projects you're reaching, your rate and many other factors.

Inspiration!, Thank you man. recently I took an office space(just before 3 days) with my friend, want to do freelance web dev, but I wanna ask you some questions. I'm Full-stack developer(2+ years experience) I recently(6 months ago) started working with Laravel, we want to be niche in some technology like e-Commerce, e-learning, classifieds websites...., do you think being niche is good thing or just developer in general? do you think going to TopTal is good idea(if I can get a chance), do you have any experience with them..? sorry for this unorganized Questions... Man your videos are very helpful to me, Thanks.

Thanks Eissa. Yes niche helps - in my case it was back-end solutions like CRMs and adminpanels (that's how it grew to QuickAdminPanel as a product), but I found that niche much later, at first I was going for any projects where I can help. Also, it's hard to find where you're good at before actually trying. So you need to try a lot of things and THEN specialize. TopTal - I have a friend who work there, and he told me that they have really strict and heavy interviews to actually gain TOP talent, so not sure if you can get there with 2 years experience and 6 months in Laravel. But if you do, then yes, it's a good platform with rates much higher than Upwork. Same experience I've heard about Codeable.io in WordPress space.

@@PovilasKorop Thank you for taking time man. we'll try several things to find what we're good at. what is your thought about e-Commerce in Laravel area...(Sorry for taking your time) good luck.

@@eissa6443 I haven't worked in e-commerce field with Laravel specifically, cause I personally think there are better specific solutions for it - Magento, Opencart, WooCommerce, Prestashop etc. For Laravel I know Aimeos are doing e-commerce and they're doing quite ok, but, for example, on Upwork, I haven't seen many jobs with "e-shop on Laravel".
