Been a Vencord user for a few weeks, and my friend has been a discord modder for years. When I asked him about the ban rates, he told me that Discord only mentions client modifications in their terms so they can avoid liability if you get hacked. As long as your plugins aren't malicious, Discord absolutely will not ban you (I'm not sure they even have client-side mod detection afaik) once again, take this all with a grain of salt, but I absolutely love the QOL features vencord and vendetta (the mobile equivalent) have.

I sure love when Discord does basic personalyzation features and make them cost money like i'm paying for cosmetics in a game. Edit: lotta people talking about how they gotta earn money somehow to cover the expenses. Well, duh. But that doesn't mean i gotta act like this ain't inconvenient.
Word of notice (2023-12-11): *The Decor plugin is having trouble - avatar decorations are temporarily unavailable.* The influx of viewers from this video got the decorator bot flagged for anti-spam, and the devs are awaiting a response via email.
It is nice that features like decors to come out to help decrease the loss deficit that is made up by selling our messages to Tensent. However, I don't want to support that for their decors feature that has a lot of potential for personalization. This helps the feature to live up to the fullest. Artist are gonna have fun with them.
this is going to get a wave of very inteligent people asking stuff on the vencord server or the decor server, because discord users can't read also, I was thinking of making my own decoration at some point another thing to point out its that this is also available on vendetta, but right now its broken on latest update lol
@@originaldeadfrogit's very fair, yeah, but gatekeeping this kinda customization thing is still kinda crazy, no? I know they wouldn't have asmuch appeal but something else could be done. It's kinda annoying to have to pay for this kinda thing when i just wanna make my profile look cool.

Actually I tried this, and on my laptop it showed that I had the vencord decor and the pfp stuff, but on my mobile it just showed my account like without nitro no decorations and nothing 😢 so it doesnt work and others cant see if u have the features

Since these are for virtual decoration, we can convince discord that we are not breaking their tos because client modification only should be illegal if it gives unfair advantages to us. But if we use it for aesthetic purpose we shouldn't be banned because it just makes client look more beautiful, not let us see discord owner's secret nsfw catgirl photo totally not r34 pictures gallery. (This is a joke don't take serious lol)
its bugged for me when i authorize decor it says "failed to authroize: failed to fetch" EDIT: nvm it doesnt work on the profile tabs, only on the settings from the plugin EDIT 2: after accessing the decor thingy on the settings, now it works on the profile tab???

My main server does "promote" Vancord since 3 years and it's still there I think you can't get banned for using a Discord mod There are some things that are against rule but you can't get punished, it's the same with laws
So when I tried downloading Vencord for windows, it said there was smth wrong with my discord app or whatsoever. I clicke the button below and it took me to files, telling me to delete the squirrel and discord folder. I tried doing it, but it didn't allow me to delete because the app was running? I delete the discord app and it is still not working fater I reinstalled everything.
That's not exactly how that works. A ton of people use BetterDiscord and they haven't gotten their accounts banned and BD hasn't gotten a DMCA for the many years it's been up, along with other client mods. It's not hard to just make another Discord account and another alt and it's also not hard to mod Discord either. Besides, Discord doesn't have any methods of tracking who's using a modded client. As long as you're not using API breaching plugins, you're generally safe.
