I took the bus from MSY to the FQ a few years back. Never again. I mean it's WAY cheap, but I landed many blocks from my AirBNB and rolled my bags through piss-soaked, sketchy locations to get there. Uncomfortable. The cost of a cab or Uber is, IMHO, well worth the comfort and safety of traveling door-to-door. Side note: thanks for date-posting your information. Things change, and it's great to have that context.

I visited with my sister and lifelong friend a year ago, 2021. We were walking down the street and I heard your familiar voice. I said hi but couldn't join you because we had plans. I was thrilled that our paths crossed. I am planning another trip and planning some walking tours. I have two new knees! Hahaha. It will be next 2023 October, just booked the room. I heard in a recent video that you aren't doing walking tours anymore, I will miss out. I will still check out the walking tours though. All the best.

Great idea for this video. Informative and to the point. Tips galore in this short gem. Thanks for bringing us all back down to the crescent city, the best city and saving us from further airport hassles! Love y’all ☺️! Also, when do we get another hour/hour plus tremendous, triumphant and expertly crafted guided walks through one of the many glorious neighborhoods of New Orleans?
While Andrew is way too cool to plug his other work, I am not. He has an audio-drama podcast out called "The Snake's Paw." Check out our latest episode, cowritten and staring Andrew, right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XPpivew0KdU.html

Hi Andrew, good to see you! Very informative video. Thank you. I'll be visiting with my family for a few days during Mardi Gras and you explained the buses so clearly. One more thing. I'm not sure if you have covered the Mississippi Christmas bonfires but if not that would be a nice video. Or I'll look for your Christmas videos from last year. Hope to see you guys in February!
Thanks for this very important information. My son and I are traveling to New Orleans in June, and I was wondering about this very issue...whether to take a shuttle or taxi to our hotel when we arrive, or rent a car. This will definitely help with that decision!
@@annruiz3590 Mine is kicking in too for several reasons...the heat, safety, getting around. We will be in our hotel after dark though, since I will be with my son. Excited but nervous at the same time.
I’m with Theresa Green, where have you been and how are you? It’s good to see you. Best wishes and hugs to all you guys, Robi, James and the rest of the family.
@@toddgiaro7657 Andrew, James, and Robi have all been working on a new audio-drama podcast series. You can hear them in the newest episode: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XPpivew0KdU.html
Great video. We are returning for our third trip and your videos have enlightened us to a few things we didn’t know. Do you know if you can take luggage on the bus? Thanks for the videos.

Happy Holidays ! Let me double down on the rental car or having a car period 'in town'. First time I went to New Orleans 30+ years ago it was via a car, traveling down the Natchez Trace. (BTW if you have a car, Natchez is a great place to visit)I have never driven a car there since, & I typically visit once or twice a year. Oh, & it hasn't exactly 'improved' in the past 30 years...FYI
SA from NC.....I'm from Texas but live about an hour from N.O. and I to love the Natchez Trace. It is tbe most beautiful place. I love driving it in August. So peaceful. God bless you. Stay safe. MERRY CHRISTMAS
I’m travelling to New Orleans from Scotland UK in November to catch the Saints Vs Rams game. Your videos are really informative I’ll be checking out the rest day by day 😊

I wish I would of seen this before I came here. I had my language and my wheelchair walker. But maybe an hour later I saw the spot where the cabs line up. I moved here to live but left an abusive situation and my choice was my dream place to live in was NOLA. I didn't want to live anywhere else in the USA I found a great place I feel safe at. And look forward to making friends and one day join a krewe. Love ya hugs and peace to everyone

The airport was originally named Moisant Field after daredevil aviator John Moisant, who died in 1910 in an airplane crash on agricultural land where the airport is now located. Its IATA code MSY was derived from Moisant Stock Yards, as Lakefront Airport retained the code. In World War II the land became a government air base. It returned to civil control after the war and commercial service began at Moisant Field in May 1946.

Well, Northwest Arkansas National Airport near Bentonville is given the Code XNA! How that is I don't know, but Breeze Airways provides a non-stop ✈️ between the two cities!
Planning a visit in the near future, but I was planning on taking Amtrak into NOLA, if nothing then for the novelty of it, and staying in the French Quarter. Any tips for that route or advice in general? Sorry if this has already been previously answered.
So several years ago, pre Uber/Lyft , we ended up with a limousine driver that was our taxi ride from the airport to the French quarter. They gave us a “mini” tour on our ride into town. Are there options for something like this in today’s world? Thanks in advance.

Are the rental car center at the new airport is completely ridiculous. The last time I was in New Orleans on business and had to return a car I wasn’t aware that it was going to be a 45 minute project to get to the rental car center to return the car, wait for a shuttle bus and then get to the actual airport. Who got paid off and who sold the land for that boondoggle?
It certainly smells like a duck. Hope you enjoyed this video, Robert. You might also like our tourist traps video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AXo03TdCplg.html.

Thanks for this. I will be coming to Nola in February 2022 from the UK. Is it okay to take the bus at 20:00. I am a seasoned traveller and would have no problem taking public transport in most major cities in Europe at this time of night.
DON'T TAKE THE SHUTTLE BUS - IT TAKES FOREVER! And the only way it's a cheaper option is if you're traveling alone. If you're with someone that $24 one-way becomes $48 which is $12 more than a cab for two people. And the cab is MUCH faster.
Either that, or we also ride our bicycles. New Orleans has many places to rent a bicycle and there's also "Blue Bikes" bikeshare. Don't be afraid to rent a bike and explore the many areas and wonders of the city. Just use common sense in traffic and use the bike lanes. Riding up to and around Lake Ponchartrain is especially beautiful, especially at sunset and feels like a whole different world compared to downtown even though you're still technically "in the city"
Did you ever figure out the answer to this question? I'm going to be there around the same time and I'd like to know ahead of time. I'd rather not spend the money on a taxi if I can avoid it.

You DO NOT want to drive in New Orleans unless you live there. Seriously. Pot holes, construction, narrow one way streets, insane parking prices, crazy drivers, and, oh yeah, car jacking. Just don’t.
