While I was gathering new footage for my upcoming updated top 10 spray gun video I was once again blown away by how well the DeVilbiss FLG5 performs, so I just decided to make this video for you all, thanks for watching and I hope you all enjoy the video.

Because of him doing the flg5 videos I've bought one and started painting myself, he's given me the knowledge and confidence to get out there and paint some shit and that's all anyone needs, after my last paint job I've got relatives harassing me left right and centre, got friends asking what gun I use and how to use it, can't thank him enough

On your recommendation I bought the FLG5 a few days ago, it should arrive tomorrow. With DHL shipping from the UK it was only $158 USD. Wow, that was a ton of clear you sprayed on the bumper.

I think that gun works better in the southern hemisphere than in the northern. My clear coats don't look like that!

Hi Gunman, I've seen quite a bit of your videos and I have to say (I'm going bananas over this "Gun and vid) I just bought the FLG 4 and want that 5, and have to say to I agree with what you said, this gun flg 5 can keep up with the Big boys and would go as far as to say that with an experienced person like your self this gun would go 12 rounds or car's 😁😉 and not loose. Nobody would no the difference. really I would go for the FLG 5 and save Much dinero! And take my lady to Dinner with it and make good dinero with it. Your videos are the best man this Is the video that shows really to everyone out there they can reehlie on your honest opinion and professionalism good work this is the that just got you another subscriber thanks GUN MAN. pure class. I had two of these, both started leaking air from the air regulator after a year's use. Very disappointed with them. Which is a shame because they performed quite well for the money I paid. Still have my FLG 3 from 10 years ago, no issues, no replacement parts! Downgraded to a high build primer gun with a 1.8 tip, but I could still put a 1.4 on it and clear coat with it after 10 years, great gun and better quality than the FLG 5.

What is the best tip size to use for base coat and best tip size for clear coat. Im running a 1.2 for base and 1.3 for clear. Wanting to fix texture issues and get less peal... Any recommendations?

Have just one question. How did you all set it up, it’s top and bottom heavy at 35PSI. Middle is almost without material.

That means you need to lower the pressure. When a material is too thin you must lower the pressure.

@@TheGunmanChannel that is the thing, it’s MaxMayer 2:1 lacquer, no thinner, just tried 35PSI setting to check how it will work, and it doesn’t work for me. Not sure why. Liquid is full open, and it’s ~90% wide. Trying to get it to nice finish, FLG is brand new, forgot about it, I might have used it once, but not sure.

Hey Gunman I need advice, I need a new primer gun and after your reviews of the flg5 that was my choice, until I couldn't readily find one in the states, so now I'm looking at the flg4 or the tekna primer both with 1.8 and 2.0 nozzles. Any advice you can give would be of great help

They're based in UK, but yeah, I think the most trustworthy place to buy online. I'm not sure you'll find the millennium these days, I'm pretty sure the millennium was what they called the original DeVilbiss GTi, which I'm pretty sure has been discontinued.

from FLG5 to GTI PRO TE10 / TE20 / T110 , etc you can get flat finish by application. full "fire" , close to the panel and quality clear :)

Sorry just wondering why you would need a 1.8 ?? Or a 1.4 ... just be careful spraying since it’s a bigger tip.. up ur speed and pressure so it doesn’t spit chunks of material on you and get a run

Hi St1ka, I'm doing well thanks man. I live in Perth which is actually on the other side of the country as the really bad fires, so we're fine, but my family all live over there, they're all ok but dealing with the smoke. My dad who's 65 is a firefighter and he got flown into the West Victorian fires by the navy to fight them head on. I hope he's alright myself 🙏

Bought myself one of these 6months ago off your recommendation and I'm really pleased with the finishes I've been achieving spraying in my garage as a hobby not as a professional I've only ever used the cheapest spray guns Chinese knock offs and since I've switched to this I've found I'm not needing to colour sand and buff to get a half decent finish actually managed to get a good enough finish to leave them straight from the gun. Highly recommended 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I have a problem, i have to paint my vw t3 bus with base and clearcote and i will do this in my big Garage. I have a airfiltrationsystem with 1500m³/h and a air compressor with 450l output power Is it better to buy a flg 5 with more output an bigger fan or do you think it is better to buy the AZ3 HTE2 and possibly I have less problems with spray mist or other things? So do you think the FLG5 is a good gun for garage painting?

I bought this spraygun a month ago, because of your first top 10 video. It had a good price compared to other guns. It costed 144 british pounds, transportation cost included. I swear I smelt that clear while watching the video. Love it gunny keep it up. Just did a respray on my friends door as his truck got shot up and had bullet holes. Came out great. Maybe I'll make another slide show of it for you to check out I'll let u know. Happy new year!

Real talk from the gun man! Paint gun brand fanboys always jump on the bandwagon unless you're saying something cheap can do as good or better then it's butt hurt city probably because they don't want to feel like they're getting screwed by paying close to a grand for their toy. All because they bought the hype and feel like their skills are great but their toy "tool" was the failure point. Nice work gunny!!

I have an flg-5, a gti pro lite, and a cheap primer gun. I run them off a 3.5 hp 100 litre compressor, with 10mm hose through a wall regulator/filter set at 70psi. Each gun has a water filter and pressure gauge/regulator. Connect the gti or the cheap gun and I get a stable 2 bar pressure at the gun. Connect the flg-5 and it drops to just over 1 bar. Is this normal, or is there something up with the flg-5? I've tried swapping the regulators with the same result. Banging my head, need someone to confirm if they get the same.

Love your videos but I'm a little confused about your conflicting thoughts about the Finishline. In this video you say you are blown away by the performance. In the primer gun shoot out you named it number one. In a video from six years ago titled Pro lite T110 vs TE20 air cap review . In a response to a viewers question about the finishline you said it was a cheap gun that barely deserved to be associated with the name Divilbiss. What happened to change your mind? I recently bought a Pro lite and a ANI 200 Skull based on your reviews Now thinking of getting a FLG5 for primer/sealer , your thoughts are appreciated . I'm planning on painting my car in my garage.. Would this gun be suitable to spray Primer, Base, and Clear? I purchased the gun with an 1.8 tip for primer, but thought I could save money and just order a 1.4 tip to spray base and clear as well with the same gun. Your thoughts? I also have another truck planning on painting with OEM silver metalic.. Would like to use this gun. for that as well.. Hoping the 1.4 tip will work well for that.

I have it with 1.3 for base and clear and 1.8 for primer, using it at home in the garage and it works great. At work I use Sata 5500 and 5000 that cost 5x more than the FLG5, and that thing is definitely not 5x worse than the Sata. It is good for everything, I think the 1.3 & 1.8 tips are the best combo for that gun if you want to use only 1 gun with 2 tips.

Hey Gunni! After your video i bought a FLG5 (still havn't got it) could you say me which 3M PPS 1 adapter fits on the FLG5? Or which thread is on the gun? I can't find informations on the internet....some say g3/8 some M16x1,5 some Adapter 3 some Adapter 4.... Would be thinkful for help! Take care on you buddy!

Just picked up one of these in a 1.4 tip because of your recommendations! You mentioned 25 and 35 psi for base and clear, but what would you typically do with the fan and fluid needle for each? Cheers, great video

Fan would always be left fully open unless you were trying to local the base coat in. Needle is personal preference and down to the type of product you were putting on.

could this gun work well with a 50l two-piston compressor that has an air consumption of 310l per min? of course not for large areas, but for example bumpers, doors ..
