"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared" -Buddha I thought of that when you talked about your dream. When you act kind to someone, even just a smile, a friendly hello, that person won't forget it. Imagine if everyone was like this, how awesome it would be to live everyday. Great video as always, Will. :)

I've never found something to watch while drawing that I can still focus on drawing and yet learn so much by ear, its so relaxing, and makes drawing more fun. Are you going to keep making these videos? Because I want to keep watching them, and I'm worried they'll run out. I got up to get something to eat, and came back, rewound the video just to get back to where I was. You are so brilliant!

Sincerity goes a long way! I've been wronged by many people in my life, including family, but I find that by continuing to strive for my dreams and keeping a positive attitude, as well as being sincere in life--sometimes life surrounds me with likeminded people, but many times I have found myself alone. No matter how many times I watch and listen to your videos, I am constantly learning something new from them. You are so blessed and your words are full of wisdom. It's very hard for a person like myself to open up, because I've been put down repeatedly---but the more I take in your words, the easier it is for me to work through those blockades I face on a daily basis. Thank you for your honesty, sincerity, and wise counsel. I hope you're doing well in your current curriculum and getting better in your work too.

I love how a lot of your videos start out with you talking about a perticular subject and later on transforms into these wonderfully abstract monologues about how to just be a better version of yourself. How to give love unconditionally and respect others etc. I think you give way more than you think with that contageous laugh of yours! Thank you!

Great advice. As artists I think we spend so much time on our own work that we tend to become "me" oriented and it's a reality check when we hear some of the things you just mentioned and it helps to put things back in proper perspective. Thanks for the reality check.

Thank you soooooo much for your comments on love. There is a person in the art world that I need to forgive. Your video has been **enormously** helpful. It is time to love everyone, even the those who have been unknowingly or even deliberately hurtful. Thank you for making these videos. I recognize that it must take a lot of your time to do this.

I love that dream!! such a pretty metaphor :) I think it's very true, and also this video reminded me of that phrase: "Ego says: “Once everything falls into place, I will find Peace. Spirit says: “Once I find Peace, everything falls into place.”" You have to work from the inside out, trying everyday to be a better person, and that will bring good things around you. Great video, thank you!!!

It seems like a lot of your advice really boils down to "be kind and generous and you'll be rewarded" doesn't it? It's not an easy way to live, but it seems like it's made a big difference in your life considering you always seem so cheerful and have all these awesome stories to tell.

your technique for networking really works. i was at sacramento comic con and had my first one on one interaction with someone working a booth ever and that person was neil adams. i didnt have anything of mine to offer him but when i said that i loved his work and his podcasts with kevin smith and how hes really inspired me. he told me a really funny story about podcasting and asked if i had a portfolio or anything to show him. too bad i didnt bring anything to that convention.. but when i said no he asked me what i do and i told him about how i like to work on animation and small comics, and he decided to keep talking with me. it was an awesome experience. sorry about this whole me me me rant, i just wanted to chime in and say that this technique really does work and its kinda really awesome.

Im a very cartoony and fantasy focused artist and its hard to find comfort amongst the art folk around me who all do fine arts, life drawing, and the like so im thankfull i found this series. thank you so much for doing this and i hope to read your comic book series soon i think your stuff is amazing. thank you

Your videos are really inspiring. I'm having a pretty tough time right now when it comes to my general life situation as well as where I want to go with my own artwork, and your words have given me a great deal of insight, not only what art is, beyond just drawing lines, in terms of interacting with the viewers, as well as what it means to be a decent human being. I want to thank you for what you do! Life gives us 1000 reasons to quit and also 1000 reasons to continue and you've helped me see that, so thank you. Cheers!

What you said about positive networking is 100% A+! It is true. I have seen it myself. When you start asking about the other person first, and letting them know that you are genuinely into what they make and who they are- they will be so much more willing to help you- and the relationship will be a stronger one- one that can last.

Watching your videos not only makes me laugh but helps me to relax, and actually while studying how you draw I've managed to pick up a couple of little bits and pieces here and there about how you sketch and have put them into my own planning out of projects (how loosely you like to sketch, and using different colors and such one over another). I just really want to let you know you're by far one of my favorite artists I have discovered through youtube and are truly an inspiration to an aspiring artist like myself.

Everything you said toward the end about giving love, whether you're getting it or not, was really helpful to me right now. Lately I've been wasting a lot of hateful energy on some people, but this really put things into perspective. And that dream... Such a beautiful metaphor.

Dude-that dream at the end of the video-I'd say that was a prophetic dream God gave you telling you that it's how he is using you and how he wants to use you. Spreading your light. Hey Will, i just wanted to thank you for making these! I always feel very inspired while watching these, the things you tell are very helpful! While I normally would always think too much while drawing, end up not liking it and erasing away everything, when I listen to you talking I can keep myself working but stop me from having any doubts (especially because you often give confidence!). While listening to all your people sketching videos I filled some sheets with sketches, and even Portrait and Anatomy Studies (which I usually never get to do because I get bored) and I hadn't so much fun drawing in a long time! Well, this video has officially made Will Terrell one of my roll models. I've watched a ton of his videos multiple times in the hopes of becoming a better artist but.... this video right when he started talking about giving of yourself... I felt it... like I was sitting at my fire and Will came by and showed me the light. Like, maybe in his dream he walked by an 18year old with a sort of resting B**** face stubble on his chin and decided I need a pick me up. Well, that did the trick. No joke, Will Terrell is now one of my roll models.. he sits up there with my great grandpa, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Bruce Lee, and a few others. I have a handful of quotes from each... but now I gotta start quoting Will. This video really just resonated with me... it just spoke so perfectly toward my core beliefs. Heh... I'm actually in the process of repairing a relationship with somebody I wronged and this video helped me out. You know what... I can ramble on and on for days about how Will helped me out and how I use some of his tips in giving advice to my friends and stuff of that sort but really all I need to say is well... Thanks Will Terrell... you may not see this or know how or why you helped but you did... so thank you! One day I hope to find a way to pay you back... I dunno how or when but some day... I got to.

You've made me feel so very good because you've given me so much inspiration, affirmation and hope. When I hear you talk and hear how much you've changed and grown and worked on your own self, you've confirmed to me that it can happen to everyone... there is hope... people you wouldn't expect really can grow and change! So I'm going to keep doing what I so love to do... which is love EVERYONE... especially those ones in life who make it so very easy NOT to love. I've been told I'm too nice... but it's not nice... it's just love. I'm going to keep loving that woman at my sons school who constantly whinges and says those unbelievably outrageous and judgemental comments, or the man I know who feels so much pain he's pushing everything and everyone away with anger and apathy. He/she will eventually get it just like you did so long as they still have love coming towards them.. Thank you for being my teacher today... you are wonderful!! There should be more in the world just like you!! x

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. A great thing about life is that you can learn from the experience of someone besides yourself. I loved hearing about your dream, and lighting fires for others. What you said about wondering if you are going to run out of fire, but realizing that you have given others fire, really struck a chord with me. Because what I really want to achieve is inspiring others. I want to strive to be the best, but at the same time I want to inspire others to achieve that greatness and more. Again, thank you. I guess sometimes we don't know why we love something to begin with, but we find the answer later.

I've put some cocoa on the stove and sat down to paint and listen to this video. So, I'm here, painting these water lilies, listening to the words of wisdom, learning whatever I can and feeling that I can really do anything when I try. And how people really have to be less expectant of others, and how wonderful people can really make each other... and the video ends. And I sit here and paint, and then I hear a strange sound, and feel a strange smell... Will, I blame you for the death of my cacao.

i've always felt intimidated by approaching tables and everything you mentioned has been my biggest fears in my head. recently I've focused more on everyone's time having value and it shouldn't be wasted. I was curious about your opinion on another subject that u mention. If a comic book artist takes 6 or 3 months to get his/her portfolio ready to present but industry standard requires 1 page a day then shouldn't the artist try to not meet industry standard but come close to being in competition with it? I really, really love these videos. Not only because of your amazing art and handeling markers like some kind of jolly sketching god. Also your messages are great. Usually artist seperate life and art, although these two things are learning processes very close to each other. But you are connecting these two, showing us how important it is to support each other as artists AND human beeings, to grow together. The last video really motivated to become a better artist and asked myself how important drawing really is to me. As I noticed then, that I've got a Mt. Everest of work and process in front of me, I was uncertain about myself and my dreams, but I got a more realistic perspective of my way I want to go. So...Thanks to your "harsh" love you giving us. It is really helping us! Have a great day! Ps: sorry for my akward english, greetings from germany ;)

Will, you're videos are so amazing and inspirational. Not only by the art, but also with what you say in each of them. I could definitely say that I'm in the "Me. Me. Me." stage in life. But I know in time, with your words and advice, I can stop drowning in that pool and be able to finally breathe and become a better person. (There I go... Keep saying a lot of "I".) Thank you for creating beautiful art and helpful videos! Please continue!

You're job may not be to inspire, but you definitely make a terrific hobby of it! Thank you so much for the time you spend making these videos and the time you spent becoming an amazing artist. :)

This was a really great video, especially since I'm a young artist who has been drawing forever, but knows very little about actually going out into the world and presenting my stuff. Thanks!

Hi Will! Once again, thanks a lot for the accurate tips! It's hard to learn how to receive critiques the good way... more than that is how to react the good way! At least it's cost me a lot... Something that I've been learning as well, little by little, is that it's better looking to team people than trying do it all by myself. Recognize other people talents being honest definitively helps a lot on getting aware of own strengths and weaknesses, and how each part can complement the team to work the best way, looking for a common objective. Hey! Also, thanks for sharing your dream... Will for president! (Just kidding! :P) Have a nice day!

I got to tell you - even though I'm mainly more into music than art and sketching - very good talking! I feel that much of what your saying can be applied also in other situations. Keep it up! Thanks for uploading :)

I love listening to you whilst drawing, I write little inspiring quotes that you say in my sketchbook. You've inspired me to fill a sketchbook for the first time ever and I'm loving every second of it. Keep making great videos. =]

Hello! It has everything to do with portfolio! To make a good art one has to explore his depths. Understand himself. This way art becomes language. Your way of talking and explaining gave me so much more than I ever expected from a people sketching episode 14. You simply amazed me. I am glad that I found your videos :) Thank you. Milda P.S.-That dream sounded almost like a memory of my own. You confused me, man, in a good way. :)

Beautiful dream at the end there, and a great video too. Really teaches a lot, and a lot to keep in mind when you meet not just artists and editors, but just people in general too.
