People don't even have to shoot at me they will just out skill me in flying and I'll crash ither into the ground or building 😂

Yeah you kinda have to wait in the deploy screen and hope you get in a plane. Once you clicked on it it will be yours though so you got plenty of time to choose the right plane and even customize it. When in the deploy screen always make sure you keep an eye on the enemy planes so you can choose the right type and right time to deploy (don't spawn when they are just approaching or passed your base because then you will be an easy target.)

@@veydnx6261 well..I've got around 100 kills in a few round but that was only because a got a good wing man in a spitfire. In European servers it was a lot harder to get in planes..i switched to American servers with good ping and it was a lot more fun to not get chased by two fighter planes

On xbox if you highlight the plane it doesn't lock it so if you even take 1 sec to choose a plane you will lose the opportunity. I think selecting a new plane treats it like you are not highlighting the plane icon.

@@RandomThrowingKnife same on ps4.. You will have a split second or you are just waiting for the next plane but most of the time the guy who got the plane and got killed will wait for it to be available again.

I’ll give you guys the gateway drug... focus on the Allied Spitfire VA.... grind it out until rank 1, where you can then select the 8x .303 Machine Guns... these things shred planes and will give you some confidence in the air to develop your general pilot skills... from there I set my goal to reach rank 4 in all 4 fighters ( 2 on each side), and am only now moving on to the hybrids and the bombers... loving the Stuka B1 right now!

@@spencera1129 Honestly if you guys want to get good, you really need to just focus solely on running the bf109/spitfire. Once you understand some concepts, you'll realize how trash and mostly useless every other plane is. Once you learn to land your shots you'll realize that it's not so much the fact that you didn't have 8 mg as much as it was a lack of accuracy. Don't use radar, it's honestly a waste of a skill slot. If you think about it, it doesn't tell you anything about orientation in 3 dimensional space, if they're flying in an oblique vector from you etc. So to put it in 2 dimensional space, it's really telling you if the enemy is in the front, behind, and to your left and right. You can do the former visually and the latter by listening. The 4x7.92mg on the bf109 g2 will melt a spitfire in a single strafe if you land your shots, and can strafe infantry just as well. I am aware that every amateur pilot I tell this doesn't believe it, but hear me out. Numbers and gun size really don't matter because it's just a video game. To put it into perspective, the british gun carrier has a 3 pound gun, the valentine mk viii has an upgraded 6, and an archer has a 17 pound gun. Clearly, gun weights don't directly correlate with damage. If you're living in a bomber/fighter bomber it's really just because the enemy is that bad or they're letting you live. Typically that's what I'll do if I'm in a server that I know has multiple aces on the other team to prevent myself from getting double teamed. In addition to that I feel like most don't know how to even fly the bombers to get more than lucky kills, and it's really not a huge issue to our team. And from a kill/points perspective, I'm not sure if it's really worth my time considering the number of people that bail out or redeploy. If you're having trouble leveling a plane, just flare over objectives. I leveled mine to level 4 in 1-2 games. It'll make sense in time, it's just a learning cliff. Anyways, I could chat all day about planes, so take care and I wish ya'll good flying.

I somewhat agree on the the attack planes and bombers being inferior, because they are giant targets saying shoot me, but I enjoy the stukas because they have the tailgun. Also yes radar is useless and you mention another good point, use your ears!

Use the practice range in-game and go to the open range, from there you can get into a few planes and fly around. You can play around with your pilot settings there as well.

I think he is pointing out the maxed out stuka and bf planes. They are way too op. You get shut down in less than a fraction of a second. I remain amazed to this day as to why Dice would not nerf them. There indeed is no literal way beginners can enjoy a pleasent fighter pilot experience. This is what happens when a company strays further away from its customers. Because of the current meta, I've given up on planes. I managed to max out my Churchill tank, and it is the beast. If you are looking for some ace-action though, I highly recommend War Thunder.

Second? mod you get for the plane and it remains the fastest killing armament, even faster than the 37mms. Any noob with those can send a pro stuka/Ju88/even 109 pilot to the map over view screen in seconds. Also get gud always applies.

@@virgilio6349 well it is indeed true i am no pro when it comes to planes in battlefield. However, you cant disagree that most of the time you get killed by a 50 level guy in a fraction of a second. That is the real bummer on my opinion.

Or be like me, use the cannon stuka. Scare the enemy into showing their broad, and killing them in like, 2-3 hits? Better when I pilot snipe.

So true!! Spawning in the right plane at the right time is critical, and if you protect and work together with your wingmen you can have a significant impact on the round. Greetings back from a fellow German :)

I think a big reason why is the new upgrade system, in bf1 the variants of the planes had different weapons/gadgets meant for different purposes but were the same plane beyond that, in bf5 the upgrade tree can in places give straight up upgrades over the low level plane such as more lmgs, faster turning and damage resistances.

It has a ttk for fighters of about 6 to 5 seconds if you land all your shots.

VeydnX its very satisfying when it works. But most times they will just miss. I’ve had some people smash into my Bf109’s cockpit a few times as well. While I’m tearing their bomber up they try to jump and hit the propellor or the wing 😂 “Roadkill”

I hope you'll get the hang of it. The biggest thing for me is to always check and be aware of the position of enemy fighters (and to know when and where they'll respawn). In BFV it is very difficult to shake someone on your 6, so I always try to get the drop on them first

@@veydnx6261 I just think that guys like me have a tiny chance of learning from masters. I mean just simply flying on the same team with a pro and watching them. Otherwise, I don't know whether I'm learning when I get shot down quite quickly

I usually try to aim right at the center. Keep in mind that lighter bombs travel a little farther than heavy bombs and the crosshair changes respectively, so I try to drop the lighter bombs first and than switch to the heavy bombs and drop them right after

The actual position of where the bombs will drop is shown as 2 little overlapping circles underneath the plane

On PC it's holding the "S" key to slow down and "W" to accelerate

W for dive up, S to dive down, Lshift for accelerate and LControl for decelerate, then use mouse for aiming where to turn.

I've tried both and I definitely prefer mouse & keyboard

The bf 109 g6 is better in my opinion as it has explosive rounds and rockets. And the explosive rounds can be used for infantry as well as for melting planes. But thats just my opinion

@Dájen Cooper I use the standard key layout and just mapped 'pitch up' to 'space bar' so you can easily turn but still have the accuracy of the mouse. I've played warthunder as well in the past and tried to use the battlefield control scheme in that game but i feel like the mechanics are so different that it didn't feel right for me. It definitely takes some practice to get used to the battlefield layout but now it feels just like second nature, even better than with a controller or joystick. Graphic .J I can see that being the “nerf” to bombers. Making it take time for you to swap seats. However, I don’t mind how it currently is. It helps me defend myself if I’m playing alone, and most of the time I don’t kill the fighter. They either bug out or crash

the bombers in BF1 also had infinite ammo and could take triple the damage a bomber in BFV can take. the bombers in BF1 had more armor and hp than the friggin tanks.

twitch5000 why would the planes get destroyed in seconds from aa in bf1 then? Planes were slower so tanks could actually line up shots if the tanker was good enough, there weren't any machine guns controlled by the pilot in bombers so they couldn't attack any other aircraft effectively, they could only defend themselves, bf1 was harder for pilots, but more rewarding as well, bfV just feels like the planes have no impact on the game, but they are also hard to take down, which is a bad position to be in, u was what you could call an ace pilot in previous battlefield games but I quit piloting in this game because it's full of shit

You don’t seem to inderstand what i’m trying to say. Yes BF1 bombers were very easy to use in BF1, but it’s no better in BFV. They might have removed the higher armor and a bit of damage from bombers in BFV, but they are still so easy to use in BFV. It makes no sense in a game where “attrition” and a “higher skill” is reintroduced again. Either way, the Air vs Ground Meta in BFV is a mess.

Graphic .J nothing felt cooler than sliding over the wings of your fighter and buzzing down someone on your tail. Sucks they removed the animations - I wonder why they didn’t just leave it in with the rest of the reused assets?

When I'm trying to lose someone on my 6 I try to use the terrain or structures on the map as cover. There are also some maneuvers to help you get behind an enemy when you're dogfighting but for that you'll have to have a good understanding of the enemy's flight path and where they're typically going. I know this sounds vague but I'll cover it in a video coming out soon

I use the standard battlefield key bindings but additionally have 'pitch up' bound to space bar so that I don't run out of mousepad space when maneuvering. I've played warthunder before and flying games in battlefield is quite different so it might take some time to get the hang of it. I will make a video on keybindings and mechanics soon!

I wish they had something similar in this game to make it a bit more exciting and skill based

You can't, what he was saying was, keep track of what planes are being used during the game, as they will most likely be changing throughout the game
