Proxying straight up doesn't work unless you're Diamond+.. In plat they need to egotrip so they'll miss 3 waves + cannon to come kill you, and in lower elos they don't even understand how much gold and xp they miss out on by coming and killing you, but your team will do nothing while their jg and toplane commit to killing you the second you go past their tier 1 tower
