This is exactly what we needed Sorelle, I am SO happy I found your channel and that I found this video. We took a 1 year hiatus and while we never gave up deep down, we totally did give up because we stopped making videos completely. But now that we are back at home after travelling, working very crap jobs and not being able to afford rent, we are more determined now than ever. We saved up loads and bought a new camera and everything as our bad video quality was a reason we stopped as well, we didn't want to put out average content. I am also very shy and have a lot of self esteem issues which really holds me back when it comes to making videos and it drives me to tears sometimes when I want to be in the vlog so badly but I just can't. I'm also hoping consistently pushing myself to be in the videos will help cure me of the low self esteem and become confident and happy, like the true me. I'm so happy you didn't give up Sorelle or we wouldn't have your smiley face here now and I don't know what I'd do!

Including features for accessibility is always extra work, but that doesn't mean not more people should do it for the sake of inclusivity. If all people thought like you, buildings wouldn't have special elevators or ramps for people in wheelchairs because it's not "super easy" and too much work. This was a really nice video! When you started crying, you can really feel your passion! I think you accident included a last point without realising it... and it is vulnerability/authenticity. While these may not be required to excel, it's a very important part of many, if not most, successful influencers. You have to let people in, to not be afraid to share parts of yourself that you may not want to, because ultimately influencing is about connecting. Allowing yourself to be yourself and to be vulnerable and authentic to who you are is a significant aspect of your charisma and pull! It's a lot of emotional work, not just physical work and demanding hours!
Going back and watching some older videos of yours and I just want to say... this is why people love you. You get real with people and you don't hold back. I've really started to lose hope in the online community lately. It has always been a dream of mine to make videos, but it's been incredibly discouraging. As you said, it's become such a copycat world and not many people are delivering quality content. Even worse, they're not delivering their personalities which is the most gorgeous part of any person. This has made me wonder, why would I want to join a community like this? Why would I want to be a part of a community lacking real life, real experiences and real people? However, you've opened my eyes to realize that maybe I'm just looking at the wrong side of the community. You are so true, so real, a breath of fresh air.. you lay it down honestly and open heartedly with every video... i felt and understood your emotions at the end, i know why you started crying.. you were no longer talking to us, you were talking to the old you, the old you with the 9-5 job being told when you can eat and take a poop, the old you that was lost and wanting change.. you spoke to the old you and you told her that the journey will be hard and there will be moments of doubt and times when you would want to give up, but you got to be strong, you are strong and you will get to the other side and when you are there it will be beautiful. This video is perfect. I've been grinding at all of this for two years and it's been one of those weeks when I want to stop. But I HAVE TO keep making things. I have to. Well, you just had me literally silent sobbing in my little office here at work, first thing this morning. Wow. Last night I totally broke down crying, talking with my husband about how tired I am. I've been working and working and working, trying SO hard to make my dream business take off, but it's SO hard sometimes and it just really feels like it might not ever happen for me sometimes. Working an office job while trying to make my thing happen seems impossible to balance at times, you know? (I have built websites with Squarespace for clients for years, and now I teach a course to my students on how to build their own beautiful sites with Squarespace, yay! I have such a heart for all my friends who are just starting their own businesses, and want to help them grow. And I so badly just want my business to scale to the point that my hubby and I can travel like you two cuties do!) It can be so hard and exhausting and thankless. But this just re-energized me. I WANT IT. I CAN DO IT. I know it's a long path yet, but I KNOW I can make it happen! Thank you for cheering me up and giving me the kick in the pants I need to make this freakin' HAPPEN! I’m not sure if you remembered me messaging you on IG, but I told you that I have recently left the traditional stable job route my parents always wanted This week, I attended my first two networking events with some business people, and I talked about traveling, marketing and photography. For the first time, I didn’t sound so crazy to people, and I actually shook the crowd when I always thought I was a poor public speaker. Just like you, I started crying in front of everyone. When they asked why, I said that it’s because it was the truth. Traveling and becoming an entrepreneur is what my heart is telling me to do, and I didn’t know I had the courage to do all of this. It was my first time doing things on my own, and I came back home with so many thoughts that kept me awake all night. I have recently wrote a rough plan for 6 years, bought my own website domain name, and I’m currently looking for a summer internship so I can save money and travel. Such good points that work no matter what kind of influencer one strives to be! I started out as a photographer, and just documenting my journey as well as using instagram as a portfolio. No I work as an influencer within the outdoor and slow living / sustainable travel scene in Sweden and was just awarded "Micro Influencer of the Year" which is nuts?! Another tip is to try and find other influencers to spend time with to learn and stay inspired. I'm part of a business organisation for influencers and they are my colleagues. We often meet during workations and events and it's so so important to meet up with them as we all do most of our work all by ourselves. Community is key!
