Biggest beef with the crafting system is that for some items there are a finite quantity in the shop and world. Meaning after you've consumed all of them you're effectively put on the grind for a rare drop item... Seriously just let one of the merchants sell infinite aeonian butterflies and ateria leaves... lock it on a bell bearing behind a boss harder than malenia even. Just give me the option! I don't play souls games to grind like in mmo's
My first souls title was dark souls 2. It's the only one I have beaten. I finished it may of this year. Really, really didn't like it to be honest. Hitboxes felt unfair, constantly having to run back to the boss over and over became insanely tedious (Especially in the iron keep and near the rotten boss), the use of instant death traps like the time two trolls came smashing through consecutive doors killing without warning felt cheap, I missed the tutorial the first time because I didn't know about the fog doors at the time and ended up spending over an hour dealing with hammer enemy's who did nothing but infuriated me, I got very tired of fighting the same enemy's over and over, far to many bosses were just guys in Armor, some enemy types like the ghosts who blended into the fog felt cheap as I couldn't see them and a lot of the level design felt as though it wasn't guiding me. My friend is now begging me to give from soft another chance. I'm not up for the idea as I felt my 58 hours with dark souls 2 mostly ended with me rolling my eyes after every death but if I was to try and get into the series again which from soft game would I go with?
