Does studying economics and economic history put you at a disadvantage to other people with degrees such as ‘finance’ or ‘economics’ when trying to enter the finance industry post grad?
my answer might sound very general but every case is peculiar. Every major has their advantages and disadvantages but it totally depends on the individual and what they make of it, it's you and your imagination. Still, if I were to give you my personal opinion on this I think econ combined with history provides you sort of an edge to better judge and observe behaviours making you a better choice for employers against applicants with technical and specific majors like that of finance and econ Alone.
