It's based off of luck not by the year the account was made. It's a Roblox feature which is only limited to few users at a time. So you can either make a new account or wait until the feature is available on your account.

I found out that when you get a new account in 2024 or maybe 2023 it allows Japanese but it doesn’t it allow it for a older accounts to use Japanese

if it didn’t work for you, change your age to before 2004 if your account is over 13 but if it’s not over 13 there’s no way for you to do it

An issue you may have is, when you copy straight from translate, it adds an invisible character before it. So go on anything where you can text a paste like discord, notepad, then paste it, remove the blank space and try again.

For those that did not work change the date of birth below 2004 and it should work. Also you can change it if your under 13 so I guess no Japanese display for you 😁

it ACTUALLY DOES WORK, heres some tips! 1) make a new account, this worked for me! 2) Make your location to the United States, keep in mind you cant change it back without roblox support 3) Normally, when you change your display name, it says "Display name" But it actually has to say only "Name", Thats how you know it will work

Omg tysm it actually works, it always said display name but now it works?! I’ve tried this trick multiple times and it didn’t work, but this time, it did!! And now I have a Japanese display on my main, no location change, just Google translate some words into Japanese and put it in the display name!

STEP 1: Account birthday should be less than 2004. mine is 2001 (my age is a lie too dw LOL) STEP 2: set location to Japan. (idk if its necessary but I did it) STEP 3: write your Japanese name and it'll work 100% hope it helped!

For those wondering a few questions. 1. Will it get you banned? No, not as long as you dont put something inappropriate. 2. Why doesnt it work for me? When you paste in the japanese name, there will be some spaces at the beginning. Thats why it says that it contains unsupported characters. 3. Am i on drugs? No, im not a pussy.

Okay u don't need to change ur location you need to be 13+ and what ur going to do is first ur go to google translate and pick Japanese and translate a display name u want then go onto ur browser and log into ur account and go to settings then copy and paste ur display name and there's ur Japanese display name chat that's how I did it and it works good luck ★
