ive been trying to tell people it works like this forever and nobody believed me. they always said "luck just increases the rarity" and they'd refuse to understand how the loot table works and that gear, collectable, quest items, and utility are all rolled separately with different luck scaling.
I swear u actually just saved me so much heart ache with my feelings on luck stat gear, I’m so new I thought having a piece of gear with 37 ouch was huge and I’m glad its actually not a big deal
From the wiki: "Loot is rolled when you open the container or kill the mob. Whoever opens a container first or deals the killing blow to a monster is the person whose luck is used to calculate the drops."
This isn't true. It increases the odds of anything above common, and by an equal amount. So, generally speaking, it won't give you necessarily more purples, just more colored stuff
@@MechaBengar look at the charts and then tell me that. If you run 150 luck and are going for troll pelt unfortunately you will have a better chance of getting a club instead. Run luck if you're after purple and above.
@@AveragePokeCollector yes thats true but thats because there is only a blue and a purple on that loot table. if the highest rarity on a loot table is blue, you will get a higher chance at it
@@MechaBengargoober bro, didn’t even watch the video. Due to the fact that luck increases the drop rate of rare items, it is disproportionately increasing your luck for a pelt in this case which causes the drop rate of the pelt to decrease. In the video it clearly shows the 15% drop rate decreasing to 12% with more luck. 🍀
When you go into a hardcore PvP game and instead of having functional gear you chose "Luck" so your team mates kill you off before match even starts. Should have made a Squire boy class! Give us a simple escort mission.
Always thought luck only effected the rarity of the item that is dropped, and not the possibility of a different item dropping. Thanks for the breakdown.
Once again you released small video, simplifying something we get a hard time to figure out. Thank you @Onepeg I hope you can do the same with max stats, and how to play with them. Things like Physical Damage, Additional Physical Damage, Physical damage bonus, Physical Power, True Physical damage and Armor Pen. I see wiki and my brains melt.
The frozen iron keys are generally worth less than skull keys, they aren't sold on the market because they appear to be blacklisted. You're able to list them but they won't show up in the search when trying to buy one
You can also get 10 luck on barbarian from golden felling axe and Viking sword, have to be held out to get the benefit, and barbarian can also get higher luck rolls with potion chugger from the luck potions
Also note the diminishing returns which he doesn't mention. +50 luck up to 150 seems to add about a 4-5% increase in drops, after 150 luck adding 50 only adds 1.5-2% drop chance for some items. Not saying maxing out isn't worth it, but something else to consider depending on value of items you are looking for vs cost of kits. I also haven't looked at the higher rarity items so this diminishing returns may not hold true for all luck grades.
@@Onepegnot a year, just 2 months (with last patch of previous season). And I believe it is a bug, because during that patch potion chugger did not work at all. P.S. (got over 500 luck during multiclassing on barb)
Thanks, one more thing: I cannot find any definitive results for how unchained harmony works with luck; applies bard's luck to all boxes normally, whoever looks inside chest rolls their luck, or simply 0 luck at all for the box. Enjoy your vacation!
@@OnepegWait can you clarify it. So after unchained "open" the chest and I interact with it, does my Luck apply? Or is it already gone bc unchained "open" and the roll is like 0 luck.
@@roflret unchained does not work, like the quest of opening chests if you use unchained it doesn't work for the quest. So luck doesn't apply unless your character i teracts with them. Same for AP if you're going for AP you have to actually interact with chests.
Tysm for making this vid, i love breakdowns of stats, i used to think luck was fake till people told me its 16% chance to get GK from champ and keys from bosses BTW i still dont know and have been wondering since last year if Bards unchained harmony works with luck?
From the wiki: "Loot is rolled when you open the container or kill the mob. Whoever opens a container first or deals the killing blow to a monster is the person whose luck is used to calculate the drops."
How does potion chugger stack up? Easy fix, have the slider move, and make a second roll based on the diminished table. You move the slider low end 20%, you get a 20% chance bonus roll to hit the unluck items.
Why the hell common items are not common, like 6% chance of finding something that should technically everywhere, thanks for the video, this explains a lot
I've been running luck builds a lot this wipe, and it feels like max luck doesn't actually drop the items it should. I have consistenly gotten rarer items amd better drops with luck around 175-250. I have yet to pull a key on anything over 400 luck. All 3 keys i've pulled from bossing were under 200 luck.
They could have made it so luck gave you an additional roll instead of detracting from lower grades. This would solve the problem of having items like trolls pelts having a decreased chance to drop wirh additional luck. Seems to also align better with intuition of what luck should do for you. For players that do not care to go into the details and look up loot tables or videos like yours, they would just think that luck is a good thing in every scenario, which it should be. Effectively the total chance would exceed 100%, because you get additional rolls. Those rolls could however have a very high chance of dropping nothing, so that the resulting chance for any given rarity is increased a reasonable amount without any other rolls suffering. 8:00 its 21.7% to get essence or crown. Both are included in the 21% with crown taking up a bigger portion. Might also be worth mentioning that luck can play a role in acquiring ap faster, since the rarity shift will make you get higher rarity treasures on average and therefore have an increased rate of ap gained per run.
hey i was just wondering, its been a long time since ive checked in with onepegs content, does he not do any Tarkov updates anymore? He was my guy id check up on to see if pre-wipe had started and ive come to see only Dark and Darker recently. Just wondering
That’s a good point. This is KIIIINDA anecdotal but there were a lot of rolls done per Reddit. Will do a follow up video about luck and the goblin/tokens stuff
7:55 is incorrect its not 21.74 % chance for ghostly essence its for the essence or the crown with the crown having more than double the chance of the essence. But its a good video
Unironically I would appreciate this, they don't post the patch notes with the patch on steam for some reason so I don't have any idea what they changed
I got 4 chests doing the treasure quest line in 4 different characters running luck potions and some luck items in inferno normals, i did check the tables in wiki and in theory luck dont count that mutch for legendary gems in normals, but for me luck did a huge difference and i tested it a lot of times with luck and without luck, and the results are very different, idk, maybe some information is wrong tho, it says work in progress and that the info can be wrong.
skeletonchampion_misc is what you have to click at, its on the page. Apparently since on the misc list there is both gold coin and key, which are both unique rarity, they do have a different luck scaling. In other words, luck does increase the key droprate, by quite a bit. If we take a more average luck of 200, you go from 1% of it dropping, to 3.4%. On 400 luck that is 1% to 5.69% ( nice). On HR the base droprate is 3%, but the same luck grade remains, so on 400 luck you will have 15.58%
And this how you guys profit of luck gear. Step 1: stock up on a few characters Step 2: make a video guide on how to farm rare expensive stuff Step 3: sell the gear for at least 2x Step 4: buy the rare stuff from players who just bought your gear Step 5: wait for market to come back to norm and sell Profit! P.S. if you have leverage over any market this works irl as well. Just make sure you don't get poisoned by lead for doing that.
2 golden keys is (iirc) the only quest in the game that accepts Handled state items. You can buy those 2 keys off the marketplace whenever you'll want to go for the quest
highest spawn chance is metal chests in ice abyss. Highest loose gem count is in HR crypts in the spiral room with the centaur + gargoyles + zombies + the 1 dog
Fellas I did the math for you. The drop rate of troll's blood goes up a ton with luck, and assuming you just sell the troll pelts and troll's blood you get for 3k and 500 respectively, your expected value in gold goes up with more luck. That's not even taking into account the weapon drops. So yes, it is good to run luck on troll if you just want money.
@@Sneakinking Alright bro I'll show you the math. Expected value is the amount of gold you would expect to get per kill over time. Here's the price per item on the market right now Troll's blood: 620 Troll pelt: 3300 Mystical Gem: 3100 Here's the probability of each with 0 luck Troll's blood: 18% Troll pelt: 15% Mystical Gem: 2% 300 luck Troll's blood: 49% Troll Pelt: 12% Mystical Gem: 6% Here's how we calculate expected value for each 0 luck: troll's blood (620 gold * .18 drop rate = 111.6) + pelt (3300 gold *& .15 drop rate = 495) + mystical gem(3100 gold * .02 drop rate = 62): 668.6 gold per troll kill on average 300 luck: troll's blood (620 gold * .49 drop rate = 303.8) + pelt (3300 gold *& .12 drop rate = 396) + mystical gem(3100 gold * .06 drop rate = 186): 885.8 gold per troll kill on average I'm too lazy to do the math for you here for normals, but it is also more gold per kill with higher luck. And like I said, this doesn't even account for the drop rate of armor and weapons, let alone treasure horde.
@@itsBenjamon I forgot about mystical gem that changes things for sure. Treasure hoard does up your chance slightly for a chest or named weapon but not much, and luck does nothing for anything that's is primarily dropping blues or above (it essentially doubles your odds on blues and above but if they all are doubled than none are doubled). Bottom line tho you are correct because of mystical gem chance
nah ! Luck do nothing in this game im try more than 100 game with luck potion and with gear always more 150 luck point but does the same than 0 luck point
4.12 x 2 % on 400 luck for skull key, 3.76 x 2% for golden key, dont forget the 16% is shared by 2 items in utility, but they have different luck scaling and sk scales better, thats why its higher multiplier
5 Ghost King kills in a row gave me the following -> Echo of Screams, Cinder, Echo of Screams, Ghostly Essence, Unique Grade Shadow Mask. Anyone wanna calculate those odds?
Crazy i cant see nor from title and either from comments what game is talking about 😂 even tried scroll through video and can't understand what game this is.
