@@RonHenry Thanks for sharing the above BUT how do you add the female quick connector to the wand, please?!?!? I purchased a Kobalt backpack sprayer with a metal wand and brass tip that doesn't allow me to use other tips like the TJ.
Wow Mr. Henry, every time I have a question you have the answer, thank you for these great videos, and very professional videography and illustrations. I'm am ordering these two tips right now.
Great video Ron, I purchased both of these last year to use with my Ryobi battery backpack and both do an excellent job .. Thanks for the informative and to the point videos..Have a great day !
Thanks a lot. You couldn't have made it any simpler, plus the links are a great help. I have put off buying them because i never was able to put around my head and all different ones.
Glad it was helpful A Quien Pueda Interesar. Tried to make it as simple as I could while still being fun to watch. Be sure to share it with anyone else you think could benefit. Thanks for watching!
Greetings from Denmark! Great video Ron, i am most definitely jealous about the equipment you guys have at your disposal in your country, stuff like that is much harder/more costly to come by in scandinavia. Thanks for the video nevertheless 👍🌱
Thanks for doing this video Ron! I purchased both of those TeeJet tips in the video as well as some others including the XR110001VS for a very fine mist at higher pressures. I wanted to see how that worked with the Pest Control as well. I was able to find them at Sprayer Depot for $5 each.
Consider also adding the Turbo Teejet induction TTI11004 to your arsenal. TTI's are the best induction tips ever designed for direct soil applications and for systemic fungicides and insecticides.
Don't forget that the Teejet nozzles come in different colors for different flow rates. I find that the *red* nozzles put out almost 2 gal per 1000sqft at my comfortable walk pace, instead of increasing my pace considerably, I switched to a yellow nozzle with the same spray pattern which gives about half the flow rate and comes out much closer to 1 gal per 1000sqft.
It just depends on your walking pace and the pressure of your sprayer. The red TeeJet nozzles at 70 psi, put out fluid at much lower rates than the nozzles the sprayer comes with. Great feedback sir. Appreciate you chiming in.
If you have a manual pump up sprayer, a constant flow valve is a great investment as well for about 20$. It keeps the pressure regulated so you're always spraying at the same pressure, thus making your application more consistent. It will shut off once the pressure drops below the valve psi rating. Electric sprayers typically spray at a constant pressure so this is more useful for pump up sprayers.
After using the standard nozzle on my first use of the FZ Typhoon 2 in will definitely be purchasing the TJet nozzles. I’m too old to be moving as fast as I had to move.😂😂
Very nice Papa Mows Low. Let me know how they work out for you. I'd run your FZ at the lower PSI setting with these nozzles. Appreciate you watching the content.
Do these fit the solo 435 ? Thanks! Btw, yesterday was the first time I saw any of your videos. I was pretty impressed, and very interested in learning the things that you know. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us who don't know so much. Your videos are great extremely well done and very informative and to the point without any bullshit, perfect!!!
Hi omikeyutube. I've not used a Solo 435 personally but from the pictures, it does look like it has interchangeable tips. With that being the case you should be able to swap in the TeeJet tips without issue. Appreciate you watching the content sir. Thanks for the support.
These videos are great! Any advice or content with mesh check valves to go along with the TeeJet nozzles? Just ordered some XR Nozzles and got the 50 mesh 5psi check valve ($4). Idea is to hopefully prevent excess dripping after releasing the handle when applying professional grade herbicide such as Certainty and Celsius.
Hi Trey. I’ve not used the check valves before. I don’t notice issues with product dripping from the nozzle when I stop spraying. I can see a check valve could be useful though.
I have been waiting for someone to do a more advanced nozzle option video for the community. I'm not going to sugar coat this, I cringe when I watch people use the tips that come with the back pack sprayers. The tips that come with then are simply pressure washer tips. I would have liked to see you take it a step further and explain how pressure can also affect the droplet size. Anyway, a great video to get people applying products properly.
Thanks for the feedback Dan. I considered going into calibration and pressures but a lot of that is covered in the video at the end of this one. Didn't want to make the video overly long. Appreciate you watching.
I've used the green tip the Flowzone comes with for decent success. That said, the TeeJet tips are better. You get more coverage given the same amount of product. Definitely a timesaver.
Outstanding video Ron. Going to be ordering a Yard Mastery sprayer soon; you did briefly cover the use cases for the various spray tips - if I may ask, can you advise your recommended spray tip to use for laying down these specific products: - Barricade 4FL (or similar liquid pre-emergents) - Liquid bio's like AIR-8, HUMIC12, Sea Kelps - Propiconazole (fungicide)
Hi Progression. You'll use the red spray tip for foliar products and the white FloodJet tip for products designed to get into the soil. So pre-emergent, fungicide and insecticides, white tip, everything else red.
They're pretty much sold out everywhere Eric. If you're in the market for a great sprayer, I'd go with this one: ron-henry.com/backpacksprayer It's basically a Flowzone but comes with TeeJet tips already included. I have a review coming out for it soon.
Hey Ron. Great video as always. QQ. I am trying to get one last boost of green without adding any nitrogen to the lawn (since we are almost at the end of the growing season). Is Ironite OK? If so, can I add carbon pro g @ the same time? Any suggestions on another granular product would be welcomed. Thanks Ron. I'm a Zoysia lover, but your Bermuda is awesome.
Hi T Johnson. Yes to both. If you're looking for a CarbonPro G substitute, I'd go with Essential-G: golfcourselawn.store/products/essential-g%E2%84%A2-granular-carbon-free-shipping If you're open to liquids I'd also recommend NutriSolve: golfcourselawn.store/products/nutrisolve-with-seaxtra. Thanks for watching the content sir. Appreciate the support.
Really liked the video. I'm assuming you want to use the fine mist sprayer with iron/nitrogen fertilizer and post emergents, and use the bigger droplet sprayer with soil enriching fertilizers and pre emergents?
This video brings back good memories! My first video ever was about teejet nozzles, and I must say.. you did a much better job than I did. That video is so cringe to watch now haha
Thanks man! I just watched your video. It wasn't that bad man. Granted your stuff now is much fancier, but that video is still good. You weren't the "HEELLLLLLOOOOOOOO RU-vid" guy. 😂
Hi Ron, do you vary your pressure on the backpack sprayer? I’m just getting into spraying so I want to make sure my calibration is correct. Thanks (also Ron)
No I don't. 90% of the time I run on the lower pressure setting. The only time I switch to high is if I'm spraying fungicide since the label calls for 2 gallons per 1000 square feet vs 1 gallon per square feet for most other products.
I'll be spraying Sedgehammer next week with my Ryobi Cordless Backback sprayer. I'm assuming the TeeJet XR11004VS is what I want in this case? Thanks in advance!
I have done a little research and noticed that there is a "vp" version of XR11004. Is there any difference between the two tips other than the "vp" version being plastic and the "vs" version being stainless steel?
I believe that's the only differences K McClanahan. Plastic vs. Steel. I opted for steel since it should last longer than the plastic version. Great comment.
Great video as always Ron.. Btw, I have 2x of the Chapin 20v Sprayer. Which upgraded fan tip do you recommend, and is there a recommend metal wand for that sprayer as well?
Thank you Ron. I just want to say you do a excellent job. You are a talented man. If I want to use a three way weed killer on a lawn what tip would you recommend. TeeJet AIXR11004VP or the TeeJet XR11004VS. Thank you.
If you're looking for a great combination for warm season grass, I like a Celcius and Certainty combination. Great grassy and broadleaf coverage that does a great job on Poa and sedges. Either spray tip can work well. The XR11004VS is best for foliar apps but if you're spraying in conditions with a bit of wind, go with the AIXR11004VP. You'll need to use a surfactant with them. Hope this helps. Celcius: ron-henry.com/celcius Certainty: ron-henry.com/certainty Surfactant: ron-henry.com/surfactant
I receive my flowzone cyclone in a couple of days and ordered the AIXR11004VP for my preemergents based on your recommendation. Do I use that nozzle for postemergents as well, such as MSMA? Sorry. Im new to this. The local store recommended I use MSMA for postemergent. Also, do I need to order the quick connect adapter for my flow zone? I'm trying to get everything ready. Thank you for all the info. Your videos are a huge help!
Unless you’re spraying commercial properties, you shouldn’t be using MSMA. It’s no longer labeled for use on residential lawns. You will need a quick connect adapter unless flowzone is now including them. When I got mine years ago, it wasn’t included.
@Ron Henry got ya. Im not sure why they recommended target 6 but do you recommend a safe post emergent for bermuda? I have every weed imaginable including Dallisgrass. Using Prodiamine for Preemergent but not sure about post. Thanks again and thank you for the heads up about msma
Hey Ron, I wanna build a boom sprayer with 5 teejet noozles (11004), which 12v pump would you recommend? Flow rate and pressure? Any formula to consider if i want to add more noozles? Thanks
Hoping you can help with my Teejets! Is an O ring required to be used? You use one, but my Flowzone Cyclone 2.5 didn’t have any with their nozzles and the Teejet I ordered didn’t come with one. Do the Teejet caps come with O rings?
Not necessarily Ben. The o-ring does help with sealing but if your cap is in good shape you shouldn't experience leaking issues. Your existing nozzle might have an o-ring that can be reused. Hope this helps. Appreciate you watching.
Ron, I just checked the two Tee Jet red nozzle tips that came with my new Yard Mastery sprayer. The numbers on them are both 110 04 VP. The nozzle hole on one is slightly more oval and the notch on the side squared off, while the other nozzle hole is thinner and wider, and the side notch is V-shaped. Any idea which nozzle makes the droplets bigger or finer? Thanks
Is it possible to upgrade the standard wands to accept the quick connect type nozzles? The constant screwing and unscrewing of the nozzle tips gets annoying pretty quick. Can you put out a video showing how?
Looking at the wand on my Chapin, I don't believe this would be easy to do. If you're going to try this, it would be easiest to swap the entire trigger and wand. I'm not sure where you'd even get one. Likely easier to just buy a sprayer that already has the quick connect system.
@@RonHenry Great video, Ron! Like others wrote, you present the facts without any fluff. I upgraded my Solo Comfort 475 manual backpack sprayer so I could use the TeeJet tips, specifically with the quick connect cap, and get rid of the bendy plastic wand. As you suggested, using the quick connect cap requires a new setup, but I am glad I did this. The plastic wand that came with the sprayer is now in the recycling bin, and I can easily change the TeeJet tips as required for the product I'm spraying. TeeJet offers many versions of the quick connect caps, but I recommend the 114445A series because these have a round hole for the tip. The other versions have shaped holes for the tips that lock them into place and they cannot be rotated to adjust the spray pattern.
The quick connect in the description, does that include the angled black piece? I’m looking for the whole setup. Were can I pick a sixteen hundred shirt? Great video.
Hi Ron. Yes it does. The adapter includes everything between the end cap and quick connect fitting. The shirt was a gift from a viewer. Will have to see about making them available on the store. My other/similar merch is available here: ru-vid.comstore Thanks for watching sir.
Hey Ron, what tip would you recommend for lawn paint application? I have a Scotts 190567 Lithium-Ion Battery Powered Pump Zero Technology Sprayer which I'm hoping to use for this kind of application.
@@RonHenry Thanks! Also I just wanted to say that you're the most responsive RU-vidr out there. EVERYTIME I've asked a question of you not only do you answer it ... but you answer in a very timely manner as well. Kudos!

Too bad the quick connect 110 degree adaptor for the Flow Zone is out of stock everywhere. Is there any alternative? I guess if not then it is not worth buy the two different nozzles if you don’t have the 110 degree adaptor correct>

Hey Ron! My tee jet just came in the mail but I think it’s missing an attachment. I only received the tee jet but not the connector that attaches to my wand. Where can I get the attachment that attaches to the tee jet?

Do I need the Quick Connect Adapter if I have the Chapin Sprayer? It doesn't have a quick connecter and the adapter web page says it's just for the Flowzone sprayer.
i see the nozzle tip information but what spray elbow model are you using? looking to mimic your setup as i have a similar green sprayer tip as the one on the flowzone

Great video, thanks so much for the information. I'm looking into buying the Ryobi 4 gallon backpack sprayer( model #2826 I think);would that Teejet work with that type of sprayer also I'm wanting to kill off a lot of the grassy weeds, in the next couple of days before I reseed my lawn I'll be using tenacity and speed zone, would this type of pesticide clog up the Teejet sprayer since the Teejet spays so fine, if so which one do you recommend? Thanks
I'm not sure if the tips can be swapped into the Ryobi sprayer Eric. It's swappable into most sprayers so it should be ok. I've just never tested it to be able to say for sure. There's no issue with spraying Tenacity and Speedzone through either tip. Hope this helps.
I have a Milwaukee backpack sprayer…does anyone know the thread size for the wand? I can’t find it anywhere. I want to put the quick connect coupler on it. Thought it was a 3/8 NPT but nope, that ain’t it!
I'm not sure on that one lamcarter. You should be able to swap the nozzle without having to go through the trouble of fitting a QD system. Unless that's what you want of course. :-)
Where did you get the pressure washer wand from? Is it an actual wand for a pressure washer and if so, is it able to withstand the chemicals that would be used through it?
The sprayer comes with it. golfcourselawn.store/products/yard-mastery-4-gallon-backpack-sprayer It works great. No issue with running products of all kinds through it.
@RonHenry Nice, I have one of those ryobi battery powered backpack sprayers (mainly because of all the ryobi battery powered tools I have already) and the way it's designed it'll leave almost ¾ of a gallon of product in the bottom of it. Been looking to replace it for awhile now because of that terrible design.
@@Draega007 Gotcha. I can see the convenience of using the same battery. The sprayer I linked above is awesome though. Doesn't leave a bunch of product at the bottom, comes with various spray tips for applying lawn products and is built like a tank. You won't replace it anytime soon.

Thank you! I just took the Kobalt out of the box. Pretty good value, runs and sprays well. I just want really high precision which comes down to the nozzle.
The nozzles will make a big difference. Just be sure to calibrate. It’s easy to do. I show how in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hg9wKPsi2pY.html
