Does not work for free. You've got to have a subscription. You can download only the shell app for free which is pritty much useless w/o the Office365 subscription. Misleading title.
Yes, you get the app for free but without subscription you can't do anything! Furthermore it's very sad that the "home and student" package for Microsoft 365 is not available in the app
I rarely use office because of my documents have already been done. All I need is to update my templates, every now and then, I don't need to pay monthly for a document that I open 3-6 times a year, to PRINT!!!

It's because office for mobile is free only for devices under 10.1". You need MS 365 for bigger screens. I use it without problems on my 8.3" tablet...

I am from the Philippines and I bought the new Samsung Tab S7+. It does not come with Microsoft Office for free. The app is installed, but you need to upgrade to premium to use it. When I open one file it automatically goes to "Read-only" mode. This is disappointing, I bought the tab knowing it comes with Microsoft. I was going to use the tab as substitute for my PC, but I can't even use it for simple editing of Word, Excel and Powerpoint docs.

When i try to create a new document or spreadsheet or presentation it will create it and will have a bar that says 'To edit and save, a Microsoft 365 subscription is required' can anybody help me here? I thought you can create new documents etc and access them online and in the office app?

It is saying to edit and save in Tab S7+ (12.4 inch Samsung Tablet running Android 10), a Microsoft 365 subscription is required. Even though the heading States how to get Microsoft office for free on Apple and Android Kevin waffles on an awful lot about what you can do at cetera within the app which is all great and very useful thank you very much, but at no point does it actually tell you how to actually get Microsoft office on your Android or Apple device for free he just says go to the download store and download it but that's not free re2 because when you open the app it requires a subscription of £5.99 a month for office 365 for you to be able to use anything whatsoever within the Microsoft office app otherwise it is a read-only where you can't do anything whatsoever on it you can't insert you can't save you can't print you can't do anything rendering it absolutely useless

Great video, great app. I have a subscription from college thats free and with that I can also connect and edit files from my google drives. The free subscription wont let you do this. But still if you do have a paid or sponsored by college or work subscription this is really amazing. Using it everyday on my tablet after watching this video. Unfortunately my college subscription ends soon as I am graduating. How much is the cheapest subscription? If its less than 15$ per month then its worth every penny. This is really office and maybe a bit more flexible since its in a mobile device.

how to have seperate email apps for personal and work email account on android, before we used to have 1 app called office ( used as outlook for work) and outlook for personal. now it combines work and personal email in same app and we can navigate the inbox which i feel not safe for keeping work and personal emails in the same app.
