Glad you agree with it! I'm honestly astonished by just the reactions in the comments of this video already. So many people vibe with what I'm saying it just feels awesome! Don't let others bring you down!
I haven't recorded in over a year, and I attempted to in December and got so shy I kept putting the camera down and going to secluded places. Seeing that guy offer you the opportunity to review his place just because he saw you walking around confidently with the camera just opened my eyes to what I could be potentially missing out on because I'm to scared to grab those opportunities. The thing that made be doubt myself was being asked if I was recording for youtube actually. I got embarrassed because it was when I just started my channel and had 0 subs lol. But that person could have been my first sub if I didn't get embarrassed! Thank you for this video!
Hopefully this can motivate some of you and at least entertain the rest! Anyone have any funny stories from creating content in public? I'd love to hear em!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I mean the short answer is as soon as possible. Once you feel comfortable talking around a camera alone, and then maybe around a couple people, I'd say it's time to hit the streets haha. It isn't easy, but it's like a lot of things in life, you always have to being pushing yourself at least a little if you wanna get to the next level! Best of luck to you and your vlogging channel!
Dude my man.. I see where you are coming from.. Im new to all of this.. I started 4 months ago... Fear and awkwardness has been something ive been dealing with.. I think after awhile you get pretty used to it.. Im slowly getting there thanks for the info!
Thank you so much, man, for making this video! I have a vlog here on this channel and I miss out on so many opportunities due to being bashful about vlogging in public. I’m always looking for a place where nobody is around and I’m very worried about being judged! I’m also a private person and don’t like broadcasting my entire life for the whole world to see. I spend half the year in Brazil and want to share with people what it’s like there, and also show my Brazilian peeps what it’s like living in the US. I also want to do videos about travel. I travel a lot (I go back and forth every 2 months), and have LOTS of opportunities for content, but I always feel like I’m making people uncomfortable by filming them and myself. Oh, did I mention that my channel is in both English and Portuguese? I just subscribed to your channel, so I’ll have to check out your other content for sure!
Vlogging is incredibly challenging! It looks fun watching big RU-vidrs do it, but is SUPER intimidating when you try it yourself! Sounds like you've got a lot of cool oppurtunites, hope this video helps you make the most of them!
Really like the video man. Very inspiring. Not gonna lie, being new to vlogging I'm still in my comfort zone with only filming certain places with friends. Looks like I gotta take that leap out of my comfort zone!
Great video presentation Josh. Thanks for the video on vlogging in public. I had done some recording this late morning. I am about to put up my channel into.
Josh Winiarski it is, I tried several times before and had anxiety attacks. The other day I straight did it and felt better really but the store was loud and had kids running everywhere so the time I actually feel decent about vlogging, everything else kind of ruined it but thank you!! Good luck on your YouTubing journey :)
@@AlysonJackson Well it sounds like you're improving, practice is the key! The fact that you keep trying despite it being scary shows you really want to do it, I have faith you'll get there! Good luck to you as well, don't forget about me once you're big and famous!
Yup, about to dive into a daily vlog routine starting next week. Just searched, "overcoming vlogging in public" & you came up. Great tips 🙂👍 Subscribed ❤️
Great Video Josh..Have been thinking about vlogging for personal purpose but don't have the courage yet to do that and kind of resonate with what you spoke about in your video.. great Material.
Thanks for this Josh. Vlogging has picked up here in South Africa and these tips have helped. Lol best part it’s an ice breaker and I’m picking up subscribers
This video was so much fun to watch! :D I started my photography channel just a few months back. I really want to do Vlogs as well but I didn't do it yet because I'm terrified of going out there recording myself. I live in central London and I'm definitely missing out not doing vlogs. I think they would look amazing in a city like this. Everything you said is so damn true! And you make it look so easy! haha I definitely have to practise and stop overthinking. Thank you! :)
Thanks for this I’ve started my channel but too scared to talk to the camera but I want to start talking for my holiday vlog so with your helpful vlog I’m going to practise over the next 3 weeks
Josh Winiarski it did! So much that I pulled out my camera and shot my first one today! And forgive me, but I copied your music. :) Check it out. I’ve got a ways to go but I’m out of the gates now! My first VIRAL video! 200k views in 2 weeks! What happened? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OF1aGp1hk8o.html
So, your sound quality could be better. But I think you know that already. Despite that, I found you super entertaining. In my experience, the people around me are more interested than freaked out. I love public speaking, though it is the fear of mumbling and stumbling over my words which drives a dagger through my heart. But you’re doing good. I think it helps when you have youth and hair - both of which I lack. 😂
I watched this video more than 50 times to get confidence in public. I really like enjoyed. If you make one more public vlog video that will awesome... I wish your channel will grow faster soon..
Thank you for this video. I literally just attempted to do this by walking on a cyclists road (not sure what you call it properly) where I was just holding the camera up, talking into it, and after a while the nerves went away. However, a cyclist came and I just quickly hid the camera and felt so freaking awkward about the whole thing xD What is usually a good way to tackle situations like that? Personally, I'm from Denmark and at least where I live, if you pull out a camera and start talking into it, people look at you like you are a total weirdo and stare. Cause most Danish youtubers sit in their apartment when vlogging, you probably never see any vlogging outside IRL. I want to start vlogging onto a seperate channel and I've set a goal to start travelling and make vlogs like that.
I just stumble on your channel. You just gave me courage after watching your video. I am difficulty going to face my fear and go vlog outside. You made me laugh 😂
This video is 2 years old, but I just wanted to point out that there's actually a vast world of difference (at least to an anxious person!) between talking to the camera with other people around, and posting a video of you talking online. I can ham it right up if I'm by myself, and the joy of releasing a video into the void is that I don't technically EVER have to look at what anyone says about it. :P But I can't do that when filming in public, lol. Nonetheless, thanks for the video!
Thank you for this video....from the future. It makes me feel so nostalgic for pre-pandemic life. Thanks for making me laugh. You're right, I want to do this! I CAN DO THIS!! great advice, especially have fun. That's what it's all about. I'm gonna go vlog today!
Dude you're a fucking beast for that outro. Lol As a person who's interested in starting to do this kinda stuff, I wanted to let you know this video helped my outlook on vlogging.
Glad it helped! Vlogging can definitely be awkward at first (I mean you're essentially talking to an inanimate object in front of the world), but if you can change your mindset a little bit and get some practice in it gets a lot easier!
Im in Mexico. I recorded about 30 videos in total. It’s just the stories with mainly voice over and some some shots where I’m talking to others. However when I vlog directly my lips get dry, I overthink everything in existence and I feel horrible! I’m trying so hard because it would add something to the videos. But I just can’t figure out how to improve… I got up 7:30 and tried for 3 hours to shoot an intro of where I am and explain where I’m going. Would fit within like 30 seconds! I completely failed! I couldn’t get the words out and I’m just feeling empty and like a failure. It’s so sad!
Sorry to hear that. Vlogging definitely isn't something you have to do (honestly most people are uncomfortable with it). If it's something you want to get better at though I'd just keep trying to find ways improve. It won't happen overnight but I'm sure if you keep at it you'll slowly get better!
Hey Josh Awesome+amazing😱Vlog, Yes Its the Greatest Enemy Of Every Vlogger Fear Of Vlogging in Public😁, but I believe All your Tips are Great and Very Helpful if Applied daily in the Vlog, I guess it took me A while to get Out of this Fear😌and Vlog Freely in the Open among Crowd, Josh really Such superb Video I wish everyone who has such problem should watch your Video Great Attempt Cheers Brother😅✌
Thanks for the video, it's even more awkward to do that in India, that too in a rural place, I have trying to photograph some birds in that place but people there gave an awkward look towards me.. I came back without clicking, but next day I went and didn't care about them, I got my pictures and that gave me some confidence, i need to practice more to be more confident.. Thanks a lot brother for those videos, they are really helpful.
Love hearing stories like this! This is one of the biggest hurdles in doing anything creative (or anything in life for that matter). Confidence is something that constantly needs to be worked on, but if you want to do something I believe in you 100%!
Awesome video tips! I started my daily vlogging last week! Its been crazy! I did my first PUBLIC VLOGGING yesterday at the movies!!! Hahahaha and it was awesome! I went to watch If Beale Street Could Talk and man it was AWESOME FEELING! Builds confidence ! Thank you!
I'd love to have the confidence to talk on camera, unfortunately most of my videos I just add music and effects over the video as I never speak to the camera. 😂
I'm trying to stream irl outdoors alone, but felt to awkward to do so, I don't have people taking in chat...it would be easier if I have a chat going, but guess I just have to do it and just start somewhere
For my channel I start today for making a new kind of videos within a few weeks. Yes, that akward feeling, looking around and shut my mouth when people came bey... I feel like a worm today 😂😂😂😂 The real work starts within a few days. Hope you are my energy 😅
Hey man thanks for the shoutout!!! Cool to meet other vloggers! You are killing it! That's for the good info! Also hit me up if you ever want to film with someone. @steven_skyler on Instagram
Just found this channel from ember! Amazing. I have really struggled with this and these tips are really helpful. I’m definitely going to vlog with friends, in down town. If you want you can check my channel out and give me some feedback as I just started and want to improve!
