Professional engineers are regulated by province. Thus, the reaction to foreign-educated Bachelor degree may be different by province. Generally, if your program is not CEAB-accredited, an individual assessment on your Bachelor degree will be made. Currently, no master degree programs are CEAB accredited. In Quebec, one must pass a French language test for licensure.
Hello my bachelors program in the Philippines is a Non-CEAB. I am currenlty taking my masters degree in electrical engineering. Does my masters degree will have an impact on my ECA? Or they will just evaluate my Bachelors program?
Hi Hari! Thank you for your video. I have 1 question, you mentioned we can submit the WES report, I did my equivalency by WES and I got my equivalency of a bachelor's degree, so it is possible EGBC would accept this document by WES or in your experience they prefer not?
Hello Harsh, can you tell me how a person with an Indian bachelor's and a UK master's in business can apply for a Canadian EIT? Can you make a video of step by step application filling out the form for us?
Hi Arwinder Sir, the process is the same for a person with Bachelor’s in India as I have the same profile. I will make a separate video on explaining the process in detail soon
@@hariaarshSir So, for the initial document arrangement I need only the WES or is there one. The governing body needs any other documents while applying in the initial stages.
Hi, for job, you need to apply for a position based on your skills/education. Similarly for Post Doctorate, you have to find a faculty that accepts you as a student under them to help them with their research. We have uploaded one video interview of a Masters Student from University of Saskatchewan, do watch that. Now coming to your question about Engineering License, based on your province of residence in Canada, you would need to go to the website of the licensing organization and follow the steps to apply for a license. All the best.
Hi, I completed my master degree from India, should I have make ECA for both of my degrees(graduation & masters) for application of engineering license?
Hi Chaitali, you need to verify that with the provincial body as some institutions require the candidate to get their transcripts submitted directly from the University for the application of EIT, all the best
Sir I am from nepal. And I have completed my Bachelor degree in civil engineering in 2022 then how can I apply for EIT. And How can i give PE exam first. Please reply
If you are in Canada, create an account on the website of your provincial body and update the information, if you dont have experience, you can apply for EIT at this point, all the best
Hi Hari, I have written the FE civil exam a few years ago, does this mean that I can become an EIT in any province now? Also, can I start the process of becoming an EIT without having documents in canada yet?
Hi Ramyy, I believe that you need to have a status in Canada to get registered as an EIT in Canada. If you are already registered as an EIT in one province, you can easily get registered in another province FE exam results can help you to get registered as an EIT in almost all provinces, all the best
Thank you very much. Appreciate. I live outside canada and I have 7 years of job experience in Dubai as an Electrical Engineer(Non-CEAB). Now, I have officially registered as "Engineer-In-Training" in my License Profile of P.Eng-Ontario after paying the annual fees. Does it mean that my engineering experience has met the academic requirements to waive off the confirmatory exams? Please answer.
Hi Harshit, if you have received a document stating your name, your designation as an EIT and a signature from the Registrar then yes, you have been registered as an EIT
@Hari Aarsh if you have 13 year of experience in some other country do u still need to complete one year experience in Canada? If i got this title of engineers in training do still had to pass FE for Peng?
Hi Faseel-e-shaaor, your experience needs to be considered by the provincial body and in some cases, they might wave off the need for Canadian experience. If you already have an EIT, you dont need to give the FE exam anymore for a PEng
I am an Electrical Engineer and working as Lecturer in a university. Do I also have to apply for this License? How should I write my resume as lecturer to show experience for experience reporting action by APEGS. please share any sample of resume if possible
Hi Jitesh, you can verify that using the CEAB link and contact them. You can also get your transcripts sent from your University to the Provincial body that will issue you the license to let them verify if they will consider your education. The link is hereengineerscanada.ca/accreditation/about-accreditation. All the best
If you already have an EIT, is is easier to get your EIT in a different province like Ontario, when you submit the application, there is an option to declare if you have an EIT in a different province, please select that option and submit supporting documents, all the best
Hi Harry, If I took the FE Exam but the regulator or board selected wasn't the same of the province I'm willing to submit it to, will it be not accepted?? For example I took the exam with APEGA as regulator, can't I use the FE Exam in APEGS or EGBC??
Hi Abhishek, you need at least 1 year of Canadian experience to qualify for PEng. There is also a requirement that your experience is validated by a PEng, I hope this helps
no, you dont need to upload your experience for EIT but if your education is not satisfactory, sometimes your experience can help so always declare your expereince while applying for EIT. This will also differ from one province to another. All the best.
Hi hari, Thanks for your answers! I work as project management engineer for 5 years now and I have PMP certificate, does that make me eligible to submit my application using NOC Code 0711 (construction manager)??
Hi Ramyy, If your job duties and responsibilities match to that of the Job you are claiming points for, you can do that. Also, use the new 5 digit TEER NOC codes for your application
Hello, pls am a phd candidate in structural engineering and a P. eng from Ghana having about 5 years experience with license and 9 years not licensed previously. Currently preparing to migrate to Canada. In my case what do I do for the p.eng or post doc. in canada. Thanks
The best option is to register in the province of your destination and submit all the documents, we will soon upload a video explaining the step by step process
Hi Arsh, thanks for your videos, my questions are, can I start my applications while on student permit status in B.C however I have had 10years engineering part from my home country, (Nigeria)and for WES credentials - can I use my documents by documents evaluation or I have to convert it to course by course. I'll really appreciate your response.
Hi Babatunde, yes you can start you application while you are on your student permit but note that if you are studying an engineering course right now, it might help to get some credits towards your EIT application. For WES credentials, the process is really simple, enter the details about your education and WES will get your degree evaluated, you don’t have to do it course by course, all the best.
Hi, I am a 19 years experienced structural engineer. Will move to Toronto for study project management. So after reaching Toronto how can I start getting licence. I also completed my master degree in India.
Hi Chaitali, once you move to Toronto, register to PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario) and submit information about your education/experience. You may qualify for an EIT right away, all the best.
Hi Swapnil, its not necessary for the university to send transcripts to EGBC, you can get your degree evaluated by WES as well to avoid delays. Since your university will send the transcripts, EGBC will evaluate the transcripts and then they might ask you to mention the topics covered in each course and then based on the information you provide, a decision might be taken to determine if you need any additional courses/exams. All the best
@@hariaarsh Thanks for responding Hari. I don't see any option in the online portal to submit WES evaluation of my degree right now. I have already sent my transcripts from my previous University in India to EGBC. I never thought of doing a WES evaluation because I am eligible for IPG stream of BC PNP. But at this point, is it beneficial for me to get WES done? Will that speed up the process of getting an EIT registration?
Hi Swapnil, you can email EGBC and ask them about this question as normally EGBC prefers WES reports according to me. I am aware that this is a long and tedious process and EGBC will take its time.
I am sorry I didn’t understand your question. Do you have 6 years of Canadian experience? If yes then there are chances of directly applying for a PEng. If you have 6 years of experience but not in Canada, you will still need 1 year of experience in Canada to qualify for PEng granted that your educational requirements are met. I hope this helps
Hi Arvind, if you just have Indian experience then you would have to apply for EIT first and the provincial body will decide your requirements needed to be eligible for e PEng
You can register as an EIT based on your education. In fact, once you register as an EIT, your chances of getting a job will be comparatively higher, all the best.
Yes, you definitely can, if you have a Masters from a Canadian University, you most probably have satisfied the educational requirements, all the best.
Currently, no Master degree programs are CEAB accredited. CEAB stands for Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. The provincial engineering governing body will need to do an individual assessment of your Bachelor degree.
@@hariaarsh hari one last question. Now I work as Cnc machinist. I get paid 36 now . What you suggest from your personal opinion, should I start for P.Eng. Would they get more than 45? Based on salary bro
Getting a PEng can always be helpful in the future as you will have more options. It depends on your personal preference though as you might need to gain engineering experience as well as clear some courses if needed by the provincial body. I hope it helps
Hello sir I have done my Master in chemical engineering from India I wanted to ask how to check weather my Master degree fulfill all the requirements for making me eligible for EIT? (Any app or website) where I can check? Second question: Sir as I have a Master degree from India and not from Canada there are high chances that my degree doesn’t fulfill all the requirements need to become a EIT in that case so I need to give some *technical exam*?? Or I just need to study any other course suggested by them?
Hi Manan, you have to send the transcripts to the provincial body to see if you are eligible. If your education (Masters) is not sufficient then you might have to give exam for specific courses or you can give the FE exam, we have a video on the FE exam on our channel, all the best
